Match arrow keys and aligning to view rotation
i just rotated the screen 90 degrees, but when i use the arrow keys, they move the object as if the screen was not rotated. would love to have arrow keys (toggle-able) match screen rotation.

Keep Layers from PDF when opening the file in Illustrator.
We use InDesign to do packaging design, usually having multiple variations of the same general design. We then export as PDF and have some vendors who like to get .AI files instead. The problem we are facing, is that when we save the PDFs with Layers (from InDesign), they all flatten when we open the file in Illustrator. There needs to be a way to preserve the PDF layers when opening in Illustrator.

Control of SVG <style> class names on Export
Here is a detailed explanation of my issue:
https://forums.adobe.com/message/10234155#10234155Summary: We should be able to assign/control style classes within the ai file that show up in the svg file.

An option to use a file name as a prefix when using Export for Screens
When exporting for screens, it would be useful to be able to simply click a checkbox to prefix the output filename with the current filename.
For example, for "myFile.ai", containing artboards "Artboard1", "Artboard2", etc., it would output "myFile-Artboard1.png", "myFile-Artboard2.png", etc.
I realise the filename can be entered in the Prefix field but a checkbox would be a useful addition.
39 votesWe can now choose the FN prefix when using Export for Screens dialog, to insert the document’s name in the names for exported images.

Make gradient swatches global
Gradient swatches should be globally applicable. This would mean they´d need to be editable - either in Swatch Options just like other swatches or replacable by dragging a altered version of a gradient onto the old swatch. (At the moment, the only option is the swatch title)

Gradients don't snap to grid or to Smart Guides
I can't believe I haven't posted it, but the search says so.
Since CS4, I guess, when the cool and fancy gradient annotator showed up, the Gradient tool had lost it's ability to snap to grid. WHY? Do you think nobody needs to snap gradients? I need, at least.
It should also snap to Smart guides!Everything must snap to grid, when Snap to grid is enabled.
39 votesBeta Build 29.6.142 now partially supports Gradient Tool snapping with Smart Guides enabled, but for the starting point only at the moment. Snapping to grid is not supported as well, and gradient stops won’t snap at all. There is no dedicated option for the tool to control the behavior as well.
If you noticing anything else while testing this (please do!) — kindly make a comment.

Get rid of Adobe Stock
I am really really sick of having Adobe Stock rammed down my throat. I don't want it, never will. Give me the option to turn it off!

Make option for new artboards to track their names based on existing artboards
Create 2 artboards.
Delete second one.
Create new artboard—the name will be 'Artboard 3'.This is very-very inconvenient most of the times.
Make it behave as Layers behave both in PS and AI!
New artboard should check the stack and increment it's name properly.38 votesNewly created artboards in latest builds track their number and reuse the global counter for artboards, just like Layers panel does.
There is a request to update the names for existing artboards — please upvote it.

Real-time file collaborative editing, with multiple users at once
I would suggest that Illustrator can open a file on several devices, perhaps 2 or 3 max. and allow a team of designers to work and brainstorm on the same file at the same time as an online service from Adobe.
This can be used for other adobe design programs as well such as Photoshop.38 votes -
Bounding box not visible / non-existent for Graphs
The bounding box is non-existent for graphs drawn in illustrator. Have tried turning on/off "hide edges" under view, restarting, shutting down, but nothing is working. Scaling tool is useless too as the bounding box remains invisible.
38 votesScaling of GRAPH object using bounding box or transform panel is not allowed in earlier versions also.
Therefore I am moving the thread to Feature Request.Workaround: Using the menu Object >> Transform the Graph object can be transformed.

Hex shortcode support
Typing in #333 should auto-complete to #333333, not #000333. Makes UI design frustrating for those with a dev background.
38 votesThese are now supported, in versions above 29.6

Auto Layout, Grid layout & Padding
Auto layout is a property you can add to shapes and many things, to create designs that grow to fill or shrink to fit, and reflow as their contents change.
Also can add padding and margin , this help us when we design C.V., Menu, branding guideline & ...ect
Grid layout easly and helpfully.

Option to replace RGB sliders with HSB everywhere - all swatches and all color pickers.
We need ability to universally use HSB instead of RBG. I want the ability to fully replace RGB input and sliders with HSB everywhere in AI. I never want to look at RGB sliders ever again.
This request is all over the forum in different phrasings/forms but unfortunately that has divided the votes leading to lower ranking. There is a similar report, now marked as fixed, but users say it’s not:
Illustrator forgets which color mode is set in the Color palette (and Gradient)

Radial Repeat rotation angle value in Control and Properties panels
It would be nice to be able to directly enter the exact angle of rotation in the radial repeat options panel. Why is it missing? You can control the number of objects and the size of the circle, but not the angle.

Switching to gradient should use as starting gradient color the original solid color
Switching to solid color to gradient, by default gradient should use as starting color the original solid color.
Since imho mostly people uses solid as starting point, then converts to gradient.
37 votesIllustrator today allows to use the original solid color as a starting gradient color, instead of white, when switching to gradient.
You can still assign the default white-to-black gradient by clicking the gradient chip in the Gradient panel or a toolbar while holding Cmd/Ctrl.
Try it out and let share your feedback.

Pathfinder modes / effects / command to work with open paths...
Can you make the Pathfinder (all of it) work with open paths? See attachment for what I am proposing.

Split View on Mac
Split View on MAC, allows for full screen view while running 2 apps, with ability to interact with both sides of the screen. Its available on all apps, except Abode! I check PS and AI - they both don't work in this view.

Replace or Delete Swatches should automatically re-color objects with new swatch
I propose swatches have the function of applying new color to objects on the art board whenever a color needs to be replaced with a different color. Instead of simply deleting the current swatch, we should be prompted to "replace current color with new color?" then select the new color after adding it to the palette, then BAM! all the objects are automatically updated with the new color. (Example: art editor says that we will print only using 2 colors: black text with red headlines. I already have the art set using black and green. I could add the red swatch, then delete the green swatch and have all green headlines changed to red for me.)

Option to maintain aspect ratio when resizing objects by default, without holding Shift
Currently, if you want to resize an object (by clicking and dragging a corner) without distorting it, you need to hold down the Shift key.
I would like (at least the option) to have Illustrator maintain aspect ratio by default when resizing, and hold Shift to distort.
Even fancier would be an option to set the behavior of the top/bottom and side "handles"... distort vs. resize while maintaining aspect ratio.
Thanks!

New artboard default to spacing set in Rearrange artboard panel
It would be useful if when you create a new artboard that the spacing between it and the previous one reflects the spacing you have defined in the 're-arrange artboards' panel.
Currently it defaults to something around 7/8mm which is annoying when you have artwork that spills over, as moving the artboard drags the artwork with it. I know you can turn that feature off, but the spacing defaulting to what you've already defined would still be very useful.
37 votesI am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.3.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!
