1. Package in Illustrator 2021 not copying fonts - Windows 10

   The package functionnality in Illustrator 2021 does not copy the fonts to the package folder. The report doesn't display any error.
   The same job was packaged on Mac and worked fine.

2. Cannot Export Print Quality PNG from Illustrator 2021 Mac OS Catalina

   Every time I try to export my large print quality files from Illustrator as .png, I get an error message. The Operation Cannot Complete Because of an Unknown Error [!now] I am trying to maintain the 300dpi quality because this is how my printer accepts files. (As .png.) My Illustrator file is 10000 x 10000 pixels at 300 dpi. I have tried it as 150 dpi and all of the export settings and always get the error message. I see on your forums that this has been going on for many years and that I'm not the only designer to experience this issue. Can you please help?

3. AI files opening as old versions

   Illustrator is intermittently not properly saving my files and is opening old versions of the AI file.

   This is my workflow:

   Create design and save AI file. Save PDF file and send to client. Receive amends, open AI file and amend + save. Save PDF file and send to client.

   Repeat until the design is approved.

   At this point I open the AI file and prepare the print files for production.

   However, the AI file is opening as an older version and does not have the latest amends saved. This is costing us £100s in incorrectly manufactured items.

   PLEASE HELP!!!

4. Unknown error when exporting to jpeg or PNG

   I am trying to export my work to a Jpeg or PNG to work on photoshop but i keep on getting and unknown error. Please help I need this fix so i can complete my work. this is URGENT!!

5. Crashing when trying to save file

   Sometimes when I'm trying to save my progress on a file, it crashes and doesn't create a recovered file or anything. I've lost a lot of work.

   Coordinates and size are integers.

8. Save as .ai can be interrupted by another save

   If you are working on a new document, or opened an EPS or PDF, hit save as .ai and it does the background save, if you dont wait or dont realize it isnt finished, and try to save as PDF by way of example, the first save will not complete (ever) and this may result in a loss of data. Very reproducible

9. Crash in exporting PDF

   Illustrator 24.3 64bits on Windows 10

   The software crash when exporting PDF as a Export for Screens (mutliple format export)

   All the formats except PDF are exported on the Outpout folder, but when generating PDF, it's crash randomly (1 success for 5 crashes)

10. Illustrator not deleting .tmp files after upgrades to Catalina

    We've recently started upgrading our users to Catalina, and since then multiple people have reported Illustrator is creating .tmp files that can't be deleted. We've turned off Save in Background, Export in Background, optimize saving for slow networks, and Saving Cloud documents. The issue seems to be intermittent, we haven't been able to find a pattern.

    When it makes these files, they can't be deleted in Finder.

11. Asset export password bug 24.2.3

    Illustrator info: 24.2.3 (64bit)

    System info:
    Windows 10

    Steps:
    If I export artboards to pdf using the asset export window - each file will be password protected without me specifying it.

    This only happens if the last pdf I saved manualy (using save as) was password protected. Asset export will use the same password that I entered for this file.

    This would be a nice feature if it was an option you could select or de select, but not when it happens without informing me.

    The only workaround I know of, is to save a dummy pdf with the correct settings before using the asset export, needles to say this is a damper on workflow efficency.

    The presets used does not have password protection enabled. I am reasonably sure you can't put passwords in the presets actually. I tried now, and the password protection option was not enabled when I applied the preset.

13. Objects imported from SVG have their gradients turned upside down

    Illustrator 24.2 on Windows 10 PC.

    Open the attached SVG file. Select the rectangle with the gradient. Now select the Rectangle tool and create another rectangle which will inherit the look of the first rectangle. Now we have two rectangles on the canvas which look the same.

    Yet their appearance in the Appearance panel is different — the imported object has the red color on the bottom while the newly created object has the red color on the top.

    It's not simply a cosmetic issue — if you drag and drop the appearance of the imported rectangle to another object, it will have its gradient turned upside down. I.e. it won't look the same as the object from which the appearance was copied.

    Illustrator 24.2 on Windows 10 PC.

14. Save As or Save Copy not working

    I have a document (on a network share). I can edit the file and save it normally.

    But SAVE AS or SAVE COPY do not work at all. Just Nothing Happens.
    Sometimes a short spinning ball. No errors, no feedback.

15. Large size canvas saving to pdf failed

    Using windows 7 and Illustrator 24.2 June release

    As documented for Large size canvas, created a file using 2270x2270 in. While saving it as ai it's saving as expected, but saving it as pdf using pdf ver. 1.6 or later getting an error:

    "The dimension of this page is out of range"

16. 'Turn off Data Recovery for complex documents' should be on by default

    The data recovery setting for complex documents should be on by default. Secondary to this, why aren't my illustrator settings saved in the Creative Cloud in the creative cloud service we pay so much for? I've had a situation we're I've upgraded to a new illustrator version through CC then started to work not realising this feature is now off!!! I've done a whole lot of work in a large file and not only did it not recover the document after a crash the program reverted the document to a state 2 days prior! The file even says I saved it at close of business and yet here I am with a version of the file from the day I created it. Get your act together Adobe... I have stuck with you for years but I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to consider the competition.

    You should rename the setting to "Turn off Data Recovery for documents you've worked a lot on" because this is basically what this "feature" does.

17. Ai files saved on Windows loose their preview when changing extension to .ait

    To prevent accidentally saving over common library files (stock graphics and the like) we save our artwork files as .ai, then change the extension to .ait so that they will open as an untitled file. There are a couple of reasons I do things this way instead of saving them as .ait files from the get go.

    The main reason is that it's not uncommon that I'll need to run a batch script on several files. As part of that batch, I open the file, make some change(s), then save the file. If the files are initially saved as a template file, they will always open as "Untitled" documents and as such, the user will see a Save As dialog for each document that is batched. If the files are initially saved as ai, then you can always interchange the extensions to get the desired behavior.
    The auxiliary reason is that if you save an .ait file, no preview/thumbnail is saved with it. But if you save it as .ai first, then batch rename the extensions to .ait, the file retains preview information, but it still opens as untitled like we want.
    So that's the workflow and the rationale behind it. However, with the remote working situation, we've encountered issues that we didn't see in the office when everyone was using Mac.

    When a file is saved on a Windows machine, the preview/thumbnail goes away after changing the extension to .ait (regardless of the environment in which the extension is changed). As far as I can tell, the save settings (in the save as dialog) are identical in both operating systems, yet the behavior of the saved files is different. The issue exists in all versions of release 24 that I've tested so far...

18. Linked images/files got embedded after file [recovered]

    When Illustrator got crashed I reopen the file and the file got recovered with a message saying (could not find a plug-in to read the linked file "links". .....)

    and when I press (ignore) button I saw all my linked got missing and embedded also

19. Save File

    We are still having save file issues. Illustrator will not save the file over a network or even at time to the desktop. Also please do say "this is not a generic issue" looking at all the posts below with the same problem it surely is.

    And please can we get moving on this. There seems a real lack of effort to fix these things. Whenever I read these posts you guys are always saying you have fixed the problem but the posts show that you have not, or you made the error occur again in another update. Very disappointed with the tech support effort and Adobe.

20. Exporting to png creates corrupted png file.

    I'm having an issue with corrupted png files that were exported from Illustrator. If I export from photoshop, it's fine. I have exported from Illustrator a bunch of times before, so not sure what the problem is and what to do to correct the problem. Seems like it started with the latest update, but I'm not totally sure of that. Before this issue started, exporting to png was very fast. Now it is very slow, sometimes crashes the app, and when I do get a file and try to upload it online I get a corrupted file message. Again, this does not happen with Photoshop exported png files.

    I am using the latest version of Illustrator on a Lenovo Yoga with Windows 10.
    0.18362. I have tried export-as and export selection with no luck.
