  3. GPU Preview hangs with simple file

System specs: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) • GPU Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB • OSX 10.14.6 • Illustrator 23.1.1

I have an Illustrator file (attached) which is originally imported from a dwg file but doesn't seem to contain that much artwork. Trying to open this file (or preview) with GPU either hangs Illustrator or takes minutes on end to render. The same thing happens if this file is placed in Indesign and GPU preview is on there, even recovering that document after force quitting hangs Indesign.

I can simply work around this problem by disabling GPU performance from…

  4. GPU performance

GPU performance in iMac 27" 5k with AMD Radeon R9 M380 2 GB
turns colors to a pale tone.

Using CPU preview turns back the vivid colors but it slows down the performance.

Any clue how to fix this?

I'm using the latest update of Mojave and Illustrator v. 23.0.1

  5. Illustrator CC Crashes In Tablet Mode

Illustrator regularly crashes every couple of hours when my Spectre x360 is in tablet mode, also when using the HP Pen. Is anyone else getting this?

Running Illustrator in power saving mode was suggested as a workaround, but it's still crashing.

    System info attached.

  6. Multiply Glitch

Multiply effect in transparency is not working properly, it's appearing partially colored and pixelated, or object would disappear when zooming in/out.

  7. High Sierra (macOS 10.13) GPU rendering issues with RGB document - Intel Graphics

Illustrator 21.1.0 has issues with GPU rendering in the latest High Sierra public betas:

Paths will appear jagged and generally do not display correctly.

Altering the zoom level affects these artefacts.

Switching off GPU rendering altogether fixes the issue but this way, performance is obviously affected.

Additional Note: Works correctly in CMYK document.

  10. Stroked Paths get notches or bleeding in sharp connections

Paths with a stroke color and no fill are still filling random corners within the shape. I've rebuilt the shape, and checked for redundant nodes, but neither has fixed the problem. To make is worse, this is happening to to connection points at random (sometimes it has a fill, sometimes it doesn't). Definitely a bug, and a very major one.

Also, copying the artwork into a new document, or even into InDesign, does not fix it. Placing the artwork in InDesign actually makes the preview glitch out. It's as if Adobe gave CC 2018 a lobotomy!

  12. GPU continues to randomly turn only white to black (not inverting!)

an ongoing issue with CC is the random and unprovoked flipping of Black to white on screen. Only the color white does this. This is not a case of color being inverted. It is only white in a file that suddenly turns black and then needs to be closed and reopened to fix.

  13. GPU rendering problem. - My graphics appear pixelated at certain zoom levels. Comes and goes. Very annoying when working.

This happened a few months or weeks ago.

    I am using Macbook Pro - 2017
    OS version: Mojave 10.14.5 (18F132)
    Adobe Illustrator: 23.0.4
This issue disappears when I turn of GPU rendering but I am used to working with GPU rendering ON.

I am hoping for a fix on this soon or maybe there is already. please let me know. Thanks :)

  14. Performance issues in pixel preview on 5K retina screen

When working in pixel preview mode on the retina screen of my iMac, the scrolling and zooming in Illustrator are very laggy. Please do the needful ASAP or we plan to move to "Affinity" because illustrator is unusable for me and its impact our workflow.

Under Review  ·  Anish Kumar responded

    Hi All,

Thanks for reporting this issue and sorry for getting back so late. We are able to reproduce this issue at our end and it is currently under review.

  15. Thin strokes look jagged / uneven

Newest version of Illustrator has now changed my .001 cut size of a stroke in some places from a clean thin line to a jagged mess. Some of the former .001 lines are still unchanged? These are shared with clients and look horrible!
    Running on Windows 10.

  16. Fill with overprint set does not align with the path

Paths not aligned to fill or actual graphic on Illustrator 23.0.3 (CC 2019).

Not sure when it happens or how but it will randomly not move the fill with the path lines. Changing the colour or selecting some edges of the path will make it bounce to the correct position.

The file will print with the fill moved.

Once it is corrected it you can't undo problem without reopening the file that is saved like this.

My best guess and only thing I have noticed different about this paths that are wrong is it has a overprint fill turned on.…

  18. Mouse scroll animated zoom is broken when in Pixel Preview mode

I just updated to Illustrator 2019 on a Windows 10 PC

Given I have any size project open
And my "zoom to selection" preferences are on or off
When I turn on pixel preview view mode
    And I have alt selected
And I use my mouse to zoom in and out
Then zoom chooses a random center point to anchor it's zoom

I have no issues when in "Overprint preview" mode, or when using my keyboard in "Pixel preview" mode.

  19. Getting odd artifacting when using GPU preview on illustrator

Shapes look as if they arent inline with each other when using GPU preview, CPU preview fixes the issue but of course I shouldnt have to be running it on CPU preview. The jaggies seem to stem from where there are anchor points, but not every anchor point.

  20. GPU preview glitch

I encounter this glitch since introduction of GPU preview.
Only now I managed to narrow down the conditions to replicate it.

When the Control pane is switched off (Window > Control), and Screen Mode is in Fullscreen Mode with Menu Bar, then when the working area is scrolled down, black horisontal lines appear. As if they are somehow traced by the top edge of the working area. Once I zoom out/in, they disappear. Also switching to CPU preview removes the glitch all together. This appears on both retina and non-retina displays.

This does not happen when the Control pane is…
