1. Phantom/stuck bounding box

   Bounding box appears in unusual places when I'm grouping/ungrouping. Then it gets stuck. I cant deselect it, delete, move, un/group, etc. It stays put and I can't get rid of it. Even when undoing my previous actions.

2. Paste Remembers Layers

   Updated Illustrator to version 26.0 a day or two ago.

   Continued working in a document created before this. The option "Paste Remembers Layers" is checked but when pasting the artwork it isn't pasted in the sublayers I copied them from.

   Instead all the artwork elements I've copied pastes in the main layer of said sublayers when I try to paste to a different artboard. (all within the same document). When I paste on the same artboard I've copied from it will paste into the top sublayer.

3. Ctrl+](前面へ移動)を入力すると、稀に選択したオブジェクトが右方向に移動する

   OS:Windows10
   Illustrator v25.4.1とv26.0.1 両方で確認

   JISキーボードにおいて、初期設定では｢前面に移動｣で登録されているCtrl+]キーを入力すると、稀に選択中のオブジェクトが前面に移動すると同時に右方向へずれる(→キーを入力した時と同じ)挙動をする現象を確認しました。

   キーボード操作だとCtrlキーと]キーを同時に連打すると稀に起き、サードパーティ製のキー入力デバイスで"Ctrl+]"と同時入力するよう設定し機械的に入力すると、より確実に同様の現象が起きます。

   ご報告いただきました現象につきまして検証した結果、以下のような結果が得られました。

   ・「Ctrl」キーと「]」キーを同時ではなく、交互に何度も押し続けると選択されたオブジェクトが右方向へ移動する。

   ・1 秒間に 3 回程度の速度で、交互にキーを押し続けると再現しやすい。

   ・「Ctrl」キーと「[」キーの場合に左へ移動などの現象は発生しない。

   ・macOS では再現しない。

   以上の再現方法でお試しいただき、同様の結果が得られたかどうかをお知らせください。

4. moving a path to an invisible group still enables me to edit

   Hi, I was painting a path with the blob brush, then i decided to paint a new path on top of the other one and i didnt want to join with the original, so I moved the original to an invisible group and proceeded to paint the new path, for my surprise the original in the invisible group joined with the new path, I don't see this like a feature.

7. Collapsing layers

   LAYER BUGS

   1) when Alt + click on layer, only the TOPMOST sublayer is collapsed. The rest of the sublayers remain expanded

   2) The REAL bug is that when I collapse all layers, save, close, and reopen, ALL LAYERS AND SUBLAYERS ARE AUTOMATICALLY EXPANDED!!! It should remember the state of ALL layers, without regard to whether it is a sublayer or not. The USER COMMUNITY have been asking for a fix to this for at least 10 years!

8. Copy (or Cut) \ Paste: the object appears on the same layer when another layer is selected.

   Hello,

   Windows 10, Illustrator 25.2

   I have an object\s on layer 1. I copy\cut it. Select layer 2, press Paste - the object Appears on layer 1 and layer 2 is still selected.

   It should appear on layer 2 as it was before.
   4.
   I can not copy\paste objects on another layer, I can only move them in Layer Window.

   As per the comment, this often happens if you enable Paste Remembers Layers in the Layers panel’s flyout menu. With it turned on, Ai respect the original layers of pasted objects.

9. OS10.13.6 — Illustrator 24.1.2: Paste does NOT remember layers. Oddly, the same thing happened with another upgrade about 1-2 years ago.

10. 'Send to current layer' command is disabled when art across several layers is selected

    I don't understand why it's limited, I can't see logic behind that, so I put it in Bugs, rather then Ideas.

    See, I have some stuff in different layers. I select it, choose a layer, press a hotkey, I intend to collect it all in the selected layer, but nothing happens. WHY?

    I have 'Collect in new layer' in Palette menu, but I have no hotkey for it (you guys do everything with mouse? really?) and i don't need a NEW layer, I need existing and selected one, and I have a command for it — ''Send to current layer' — and it does not work.

    Don't force me to cut and paste! I have a lot of raster art and each cut moves this behemoth into the clipboard, which takes minutes.

    Sorry, I'm upset. Just fix this one command. And everything else.

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 27.0.0 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

11. fix 'sticky' text boxes within sublayers

    Fire up Illustrator 22.0 or 22.1 and create a new document.

    Select the Text tool and draw a rectangular area. Fill it with placeholder text. Select the Rectangle tool and draw a filled rectangle (non-overlapping, though it doesn't matter).

    Double click some word in the text box and start typing. Then in the Layers panel, click the 'select art' square corresponding to the filled rectangle. The rectangle becomes selected and the text box is deselected and all is good and well.

    Deselect everything, hilight the rectangle and textbox objects in the Layers panel, and "Collect in New Layer". This puts the two objects into a new sublayer under the existing "Layer 1". Rotate the arrow-thing to uncollapse the new sublayer.

    Now, repeat the above procedure: select the text box, select the text tool, double click on some word in the text and start typing. Then select the rectangle via the 'Selected Art' marker in the Layers panel.

    The Layers panel shows the rectangle as selected and the text as deselected. The 'selection hilighting' (if 'Show Edges' is turned on) in the drawing area also shows the rectangle is selected and the text is deselected. Both of them are lying, however!

    BUG: The text box is still (incorrectly) secretly selected. There's still a flashing text cursor right where it was. Pressing 'a' on the keyboard (unsurprisingly) puts in 'a' in the text box where the cursor is, rather than switching to the Direct Selection Tool.

    Also, while in this confused state, click on the Selection Tool in the tools panel. The Layers panel updates to show that both the rectangle and the text box are selected, and both will have bounding boxes shown (assuming Show Edges is enabled) as well as a third bounding box that encompasses the two of them. All of that's fine and normal for both objects being selected, but the text box should have been deselected when the other object was selected via the Layers panel.

    This only seems to happen when the text box is in a sub-layer. If it's in a top-level layer it correctly deselects when you select something else.

    Needless to say, this is annoying as all get-out, and I routinely find myself inadvertently injecting arbitrary 'a' and 'v' characters into text that I've 'deselected'.

    WORKAROUND: Hitting ESC or ctrl-shift-A (Deselect All) does correctly deselect the text box (whether it's in a sublayer or not). But I count on the Layers panel to make my object selections, and so this bug keeps biting me.
