1. Freeform Gradient / Gradiente Livre - Problemas com objeto expandido

2. Gradient does not show when it is being applied on live text

   Sometimes i feel handicapped while working with gradients.
   It feels like that Illustrator is holding my leg when working with gradients.

   Gradient does not show when it is being applied on live text (not outlined text), making it difficult to see the current gradient direction and placement when mouse is pressed. Gradient shows when mouse is released.

3. Gradient along a stroke blend

   When blending 2 gradient strokes (gradient along stroke) the blend orientation does not stay consistent with the 2 original strokes. I know I can get the required results with gradient within a stroke or converting outline path etc. but I need to get it to work using 'gradient along stoke' for my purposes.

4. Gradients got broken when reopening a file

   A file I created only three months ago in an older version of Illustrator (project still ongoing) no longer shows the gradations. I spent DAYS creating. When I finally found where to get online Adobe support (that is not right), the tech had me download an older version of Illustrator as the solution. That does not seem like a solution. How do I keep these gradations in the new version? Why did they disappear? I have been a dedicated, daily user of Illustrator since 1990. I have more and more problems every year/upgrade. I used to always give your products/company a 10 rating. Now, if there was another program I could use, I would definitely try it.

5. Freeform Gradient fails at transformation.

   Hey I like the freeform gradient tool. But after it is applied to an object, the gradient has some major issues with resizing and rotation of the object. From what I can tell the points are not truly anchored in the object, so when the shape rotates the gradient points drop off the object, causing them to delete. It's like the gradient floats above the object. Or more frustratingly, sometimes when using the line gradient within the freeform settings, a point will delete causing the lines to cross and lock up, becoming uneditable. Usually, if you are within the gradient, illustrator will give you a warning that it doesn't allow points to be deleted if it causes the lines to cross. But it allows it if it is in some kind of object transformation. If this happens, the only work around I've found is to set the object to a non-freeform gradient, and then switch back to freeform and re-lay out the whole thing.

   Any way, this is super frustrating because I've spent hours and hours redoing gradients. I need to preserve the editability of them. This is on the current illustrator version 24.0.2. please fix the bug, thanks!

6. Gradient stroke cannot be cut and pasted.

   Reproduction:

   1. Draw a path with a gradient stroke and no fill.
   2. Select and cut or copy the path.
   3. Paste. Normally, In Front, Behind, or In Place.
   4. The expected result is, of course, a new copy of this gradient-stroked path.
   5. Actual results range from a copy of the path with the stroke expanded, an image that was cut and paste sometime last week, or an error popup that says "This operation cannot complete because of an unknown error [PDF!]"

   Seen on OSX 10.14.6 with AI 24.1 and AI 24.1.2.

   As per the comment from the OP, the LaunchBar clipboard manager seems to not be compatible the Illustrator format. The same happens with other clipboards managers, including the default one for Windows. However, there are reports it used to work with previous versions of Illustrator. If you have more details on this, or the same problem, — please comment.

7. Changing color on gradient object freezes illustrator

   I noticed a similar issue someone was having in 2019, but it doesn't seem precisely the same. I am running Illustrator 24.3 on Windows 10. I recently pulled up an Illustrator file from last year to pull items for a new, related project. One of the vectors is a gradient - I'm trying to change it to solid fill. The only way I can do this right now is to change it to whatever solid is my default in my Tools panel, then change it to the actual color I want in my color palette. The Color palette automatically selects one of the colors in the gradient with no way to deselect. Clicking a color in the Color palette from there creates a new gradient point buried or invisible beneath another one. If I try to switch the entire object to solid fill after accidentally editing this gradient point color, Illustrator freezes and shuts down.

   Do you have the test fil you can share with the team?

   Please remove anything sensitive from it and leave only the shape with the gradient. Do not move it into another doc or make sure it uses the same color mode as the original document does.

9. Trying to apply an opacity mask on an object with a freeform gradient makes it disappear

   I have an object with a freeform gradient and I'm trying to clip that with some text (which has been converted to a shape). Although it seems to work initially, after switching back form mask to the object layer, the object disappears completely.

10. Applied gradient disappears and become black when applied to a compound path with a single anchor point included

    I use the same gradient for several objects in a illustration. When closing and opening the document, one of the objects the gradient disappears and is filled black. The preview looks fine.

    I already found the problem. It happens with compound paths with a single anchor point is included.

12. Scaling freeform gradient objects with real-time drawing/editing on.

    When I have real-time drawing turned on, I can't select multiple objects that contain freeform gradients and scale them without losing the appearance of the objects. A single object works, more than one at a time will not. If I turn off real-time in preferences, this resolves the issue.

    Mac os 10.14, Illustrator c 24.2

13. The operation cannot be complete beacuse of an unknown error. [STEX]

    Trying to use Freeform Gradient on a more complex shape(image attached) and I get this error "The operation cannot be complete because of an unknown error. [STEX]"
    I tried making a new doc and still same issue. Some of the elements are coloured, but not all.
    System: MacOS Mojave Version 10.14.6
    Illustrator Version 23.0.6

14. Adjustment of a gradient in Live Paint Bucket (K)

    In Illustrator CC2019 the Adjustment of a gradient in Live Painting Bucket (K) does not work.
    When in Live Painting Bucket (K) i apply the gradient, then i can not adjust it manually.

    Hi Everyone,

    The fix has been rolled out and is available in our latest release build – 29.3.0 which is available worldwide now.

    Illustrator will now allows to change gradients of the Live Paint selections, using Gradient tool.

    The annotator won’t show up when you do this, but you will see the changes immediately if you have GPU Preview and Real-Time Drawing and Editing options enabled in Preferences.

    When I shift hold a gradient now it doesn't snap (constrain angle) in Illustrator. I've checked my general settings and constrain angle is set to 0°... have I missed something? Version 23.0

17. Gradient Annotator tool bug on Groups

    Gradient Annotator tool is not visible for some objects but it is for others. See screen shot: visible on the rectangle, but when I edit the gradient of the compound shape, the annotator is not visible.

18. Problem with tracing feature

    Hi.
    I have a problem with tracing feature. Never have I been able to use this feature, not once. Each time the error message appears: "Can not be fully executed because an unknown problem has occurred (CANT)".
    Why is that?

19. Freeform Gradient points should also move on transforming Freeform Art

    Today I ran into a problem with Adobe Illustrator artwork featuring some freeform gradient fills. I had a to create flipped, mirrored version of it for printing purposes (graphics would be applied sub-surface to a sign face). The problem is the freeform gradient fills wouldn't flip with the rest of the artwork. I attached a visual example of it. Using the "expand appearance" command allowed for the artwork to be flipped 180° correctly. It would be nice if I could avoid that kind of a fix.

    This is obviously not fixed and still needs a proper fix

20. Free Form gradient Line points gets deleted on changing opacity to 0 via Point Mode

    Making a freeform gradient point to 0% opacity works until the object is moved. The point will be removed on moving the object. This does not affect opacity greated than 0%.
