Unable to export PNG higher than 72ppi
"Export As" command will not export PNG files any higher than 72 ppi. Even when I set it to export at 300 ppi, it still exports at 72.
Please fix this!
Please update to version 22.0.1 to get the fix for this issue.
Thank You.
Warm Regards,
Ashutosh Chaturvedi | Sr. Quality Engineering Manager – Illustrator

Your workaround is not "simple." You need to fix the issue, not offer a complex work around and act like this is something we should just fix ourselves. This is a huge pain and I'm unimpressed that with as much as we pay for our subscriptions, a bug this large was able to get through. Just because you can release updates whenever you want, doesn't mean you should. I'd rather wait longer for a less buggy update, than have a ****** one sooner.

PNGs are exporting at low quality and low resolution regardless of export method and dpi count. (Version 22)

Illustrator CC2018, using the export as function is only saving my PNG's at 72ppi, any changes to 300ppi or other seem to not take. Changes take effect for JPEG but not PNG.

Reset preferences didn't work for me, but the downloaded script did.

Confirmed, the script is DEFINITELY a viable fix. Now hoping they can do the same for the Finder save location for PNG export as well.

Same problem for me, need a fix ASAP. For the time being, I will revert to 2017.... :(

I had the same issue but can confirm the script from Ashutosh Chaturvedi has fixed it. Changing to alternative resolutions now works, also Illustrator now remembers the previous setting used between sessions. Thank you!

Irrespective of resolution whether preset 72, 150, 300 or custom all export at 72dpi. However if you use export for screen the resolution option does work and sets the pixels / inch correctly.

Great, i'm not the only one who TRIGGEREEEEEED about this... Don't try to fix what's not broken...
I've noticed about it when exporting on illus 2018 and loading it on PS 2018 went "too fast"...NOT...It came out like "WHAT?!"...Reverting back to 2017 until this gets fixed...I liked how 2018 looked like but NOT LIKE THIS ^^;
Kinda the same with some Photoshop CC 2018 features but this is an illustrator forum.. But you know what i mean...

What is the ETA on an actual solution that won't require workarounds?

Issue is *NOT* resolved by resetting preferences. Export continues outputting 72ppi PNGs only :-(

Ashutosh Chaturvedi,
Kindly tell us HOW to RESET preferences. I cannot find ANY reference to the export command in the preferences. As a side note, the "Use Artboards" button doesn't seem to have any effect on the final file. It still crops to the artwork instead of including the artboard.
Thank you,

It makes no sense to me that the fix to the issue requires a preferences reset. If the update did not automate that change/reset than it was meant to preserve our preferences so the work around is not a solution. I will test it.
