This should be a very simple fix and is a very annoying new bug! Am running High Sierra - 10.13.6 and AI 23.0.4

This problem just started happening to my illustrator as well. MacOS Mojave 10.14.6. Illustrator 2019.

I didn't even opt for an update that I'm aware of, and now this is an issue on my Mac as well. This is going to make my job MUCH slower. Please fix this IMMEDIATELY.

Worked fine till like 30min ago, now al of a sudden the spacebar/hand stopped working.... no updates of osx or illustrator... just stopped...
Tried reinstalling: did not solve anything.

Looking at the notes here this goes back to 2018 and it is now 2020 and still you have not fixed this. Are the same people that wrote the Boeing software?

Space bar - hand tool and zoom function doesn't work on illustrator 2020 and photoshop 2020. This is really annoying. Help!!

I'm getting this on mac to. Tried downgrading to a previous version of illustator. Tried resetting my preferences. Tried quitting browsers and additional programs.

This is a big issue. Spacebar isn't working to pan the document when on move tool as usual. Also not working for moving points with the pen tool. Which makes it a real issue for using illustrator

Please fix this, every time there is an update, I hope that the space bar issue is fixed - but so far, nothing! This is the same for Indesign and Photoshop

This thread is not quite on the first page of Google (currently page 2), but if a few bloggers link to this page, from their post about this issue, it will quickly go to the top of page 1 on Google, and then maybe Adobe will fix it?

For what it's worth, it used to work fine, and it still works as expected in Sketch, Figma, Framer X and other Adobe competitors.

+1 for getting this fixed. Being able to quickly tap and hold SPACEBAR to drag the screen is a crucial part of our workflows.

It was critical to being able to add SPACEBAR to a currently held shortcut to temporarily drag the screen, without losing the other held shortcut keys.

Please fix this, using "H" is not the same - ergonomically or functionally.

It works if I hold down spacebar and H at the same time.

Removing animated zoom did not help.
