I'm seeing an issue where artboards are not numbered correctly. Its skipping 5 and then sometimes additional numbers further down the list. This isn't a huge deal for using Illustrator, but when exporting as a PNG it now tries to save a "filename-6" and then it saves the next "6" artboard over the first one.

Related, this has been a consistant issue for years, when renaming artboards it frequently changes the name of the artboard to either blank or a generic "Artboard." It seems to happen most often when tabbing to each artboard to rename but sometimes it happens even when renaming them individually. Today I had one where the first three artboards were fine when I saved, but when I reopened them they had reverted to "Artboard 1"

I think the space in Illustrator is less than in Photoshop. When we design, we often have to make it as large as 50 feet / 100 feet. Which is problematic when done in Photoshop. If we do it in Illustrator, the work is faster but it has to be done in inches and cannot be done in actual size. If Illustrator has space like Photoshop, it will be good for everyone. There, we can easily make a 100-foot design. Another problem is when we prepare a PDF file in a small size, later when the file is ready, while checking it, we see that there are some image problems inside the file. Many times, we see that the color is missing. If we reduce the opacity, it comes out. The resolution of the image is very low, which is not understandable when printed. It is very sad.

We are still experiencing the duplicate page issue in version 29.7.1

Adobe, I believe your attempted fix may be the root cause of the new bugs introduced in 26 surrounding Artboard and keeping track of active artboard, creating new artboard, name of artboard and the default naming of artboards being another number one higher than what it should be. The problem still exists, Illustrator 29.6

Illustrator 29.6, the problem is still there! Artboard 201 comes after Artboard 199.

I still get the issue. Usually when creating a file with lots of artboards. Over 50+

Reaching out one more time to check if anyone is still encountering this issue with latest 29.6 release, please let us know. Else we will assume this issue is fixed and will close this thread as fixed.

We gave it a try to fix this issue and changes are available in our latest release 29.6.
We were not able to recreate this issue at our end and hence couldn't validate fix.

Request all of you to try out in latest release build 29.6 and see if you still hit this issue.
Any inputs from you would be of great help.

Após a última atualização, quando gero um novo documento com mais de 10 pranchetas, algumas pranchetas vem duplicadas. Na hora de exportar isso ocasiona um erro, pois a prancheta com a númeração duplicada não é exportada.

Apparently Illustrator cannot count artboards. This happened a while back but wasn't a big deal. But this time is has ruined my workflow for the project, links in another app and was rather embarrassing with the client.
Pretty basic ask to be able to maintain a consecutive order with numbers.

On my machine, this problem occurred with Illustrator 2025 29.4.
When I opened the same file in Illustrator 29.5 or later, the numbering was displayed correctly.
Also, after opening and closing the file several times in other versions (even if the file was closed without saving), the numbering displayed correctly when the same file was opened in 29.4.
When passing it to a different version, was the artboards array replaced correctly?

Is there not even a work around? I just set up 3 files with 100 artboards I need to export as jpgs to get them into production tonight! WTF am I supposed to do???

I even deleted all the artboards and converted new ones and it garbled them all up the same.
