Bounding box suddenly disappears using Selection Tool
Suddenly disappears, but when a select scale then select the "Selection Tool" again the Bounding box reappears. When it is gone, togglingthe quick key, has no effect though t changes the menu state for turning it on and off. Also, when it can't be seen, a small icon for the bounding box is in the corner, occasionally.
Sound familiar to anyone else?

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

commentedThank you Mike L!! That was it. I had accidentally pressed the keyboard shortcut for hide edges, because Command H (which hides other apps and I use it all the time) hides edges in Illustrator on a Mac. Not sure about PCs.

commentedCrazy...I did this: turned on the smart guides (which drive you crazy) in View, then turn off. Now, voilá, I can see the direct selection anchors.

commentedWorking with text nearly impossible. Can no longer create a bounding box that works. I have abandoned projects and started new ones; quit Ai and reopened multiple times -- but the bug just keeps getting worse. Help!!!

commentedI am also having the same issue! I tried force quitting Illustrator and restarting it, but that did nothing. Restarting my laptop seems to work for a little while, but the issue always starts up again. This is very frustrating!!

commentedWhen I select a stroke with the Select Tool (V), the horizontal bounding box nodes are no longer available, making the scaling of a stroke not possible like it used to be. Is this a bug, or is this a preference setting that just needs to be fixed? Please advise. Until then, my workaround is using the Free Transform Tool. My co-worker (another graphic artist) does NOT have this issue and still has the side nodes, so he can still grab the sides and elongate the stroke from either side (like a shape). I suspect he may be running a slightly older version of Ai though...Any help/insight would be much appreciated. Thanks! Chris

commented(Bounding Box is set to visible) I noticed to often right now — also after resetting illustrator completely multiple times — If I want to select a Text Box or other shape/object Illustrator don't select it and don't show any Bounding Box. (Again Bounding Box is set to visible and turning it off and on don't fix the problem).

commentedCannot select anchor points in Adobe CC2018. Marquee select does not work, turning bounding box off and on does not work, all elements and layers are unlocked ... software is unusable with this bug. Discovered workaround:
Quit Illustrator and then reset preferences by restarting and holding down shift option command (Mac). Still couldn't select anchor points in existing document, but I created a new document and copied and pasted existing artwork into it and anchor points worked as they should.
