Workspaces not working at all

Today (Mar 19th, 2018) I updated Illustrator and upon (re)launching, NONE of my pallets/Windows opened into the application. When I try to switch to built-in or custom Workspaces, nothing changes. The Workspace STAYS selected as my previously-selected Workspace and none show up. If I manually go look at the Windows in the menu, none are open and I can MANUALLY open them and move them around... "Manage Workspaces" and "New Workspace" are disabled (Gray) and no matter what I do, I cannot change or override. I have quit/relaunched numerous times - same results.

    This is still a massive issue – especially after updating the software TODAY!!!! 16th October 2018.
    All my customised workspace and settings have not been carried through from the old version.

    Nope, I just started upgrading my office and NONE of our saved work-spaces are working in 2018. AI, PH... you select them and get nothing.

    SERIOUSLY ADOBE???

    If you want us to update/upgrade, make it seamless. My workspace from 2017 should be automatically loaded and working. EVERY time, we have to recreate how we have it laid out in the old version and then save it...again!

    This is why we never uninstall the old version.

    I've been using illustrator for a little over 10 years and this is happening more and more frequent...

    During using illustrator at work or home, sometimes the workspace (frame on right side) tends to disappear. I have been having this problem since the early cs days. I have taken the time to create my own personal workspace and I love the setup I created, when I am using my personal workspace it tends to disappear even more than normal.

    This is one of my biggest pet-peeves. I wish my workspace tools would not vanish. Any advice or ways to improve my workspace?
