Align Objects and Distribute objects tools changed behavior
Windows 10, Illustrator CC 22.1
Align to right and align to top are the only alignment tools functioning correctly in all three alignment modes (artboard, key object, selection). None of the distribution tools are working in any mode.
In the 22.1 update, the Align Objects and Distribute objects tools changed behavior. Before, if I selected say, 5 objects and clicked the Align Horizontal Center tool, they would align on a mutual horizontal center. Now, they align to the center of the artboard, apparently, which is often completely offscreen when I’m zoomed in. This is a very confusing and almost totally un-useful behavior. The same thing happens with Distribute objects on Vertical Centers.
I can’t imagine why one would want these features locked to the artboard. It makes them completely useless.
Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
Thanks & Regards,

This is a big deal. It makes these tools unusable.

So I've been recently running into an issue with the Align Object tool. Specifically, when I "Align to selection", I typically expect the alignment to conform to that selection bounding box, but the tool is not currently doing this.
The attached video shows an example of this using left align. The objects get sent somewhere off-screen rather than staying within the bounding box. I've also found the distribute object option changing the bounding box size.
What on earth is happening?

Align tool moves objects apart please fix this most basic thing that keeps screwing up.
Last time i posted about this it was removed almost instantly. This seems to be a common issue seeing im not the only one reporting it.

Align tools not working
Many align tools (centre, right, top etc.) for both 'align to artboard' and 'align to selection' simply not working (don't align objects how they're supposed to - eg. align centre sometimes makes the 2 selected objects move apart (they move apart even further if you press align again)). -

Align to Artboard isn't persistent anymore. People probably don't even remember the option exist. The option should be globally persistent and specifically Align to artboard should be default.
