I get the "Cannot Finish Previewing. Could Not Complete The Requested Operation" pop-up message and my view goes to Outline Mode when I use the Pencil Tool with a Gradient Fill. I need to save & close the file, reopen it in Outline Mode and then select GPU Preview to see the accurate preview again. Happens every time. I can turn fills off in the Pencil prefs, but that sort of defeats the purpose. Driving me nuts! Please advise.

I had the same issue on my Apple Macbook Pro (OS Mojave) when using any version of Adobe Illustrator. I went onto Adobe help centre and did an online chat with an agent who logged in remotely to my computer and fixed some files and renamed and deleted a few things, been working ok since.

24.2.2 version crashes automatically. please help

Please update Adobe! Illustrator crashes every day... Also sometimes it will not let me switch between documents. Even though the indicator says that I switched between files, the screen remains the same.

I lost a surface pattern design on 24.2.1 also, as well as spent all of July 4 frustrated and mad as **** at the constant crashing and rebooting that, in the end, did me no good.

This is happening again with the 24.2.1

Same here, it suddenly began happening when I made the mistake of switching to 2020. It's become a Chinese fire drill at work to constantly revert, delete preferences, and play whack-a-mole with Illustrator problems. In this instance I have found that when I drag a JPG from Messages on Mac into Illustrator, it gives this error. Then I can't revert or switch from line mode, nor can I save the doc. So it's a death sentence for the document.

At this juncture I do not expect Adobe to fix these issues, they are simply falling so far behind on bugs that they can only address the most glaringly obvious problems—most of which are breaking their programs with increasingly common updates. It's unfortunate because so many of our careers rely on this software, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not looking for the first exit off this sinking ship when the opportunity presents itself.

Illustrator v24 (2020) quits every time I want to do something in the open file after installing new Suitcase Fusion.

This is happening again with the 24.1.1 update.

At a random point, it switches to outline mode, and then a dialog box opens and states, "Cannot finish previewing". Thought this was fixed in previous releases but since updating Ai its happening again.

There are some troubleshoot steps that you can perform inorder to improve the performance of the application

MAC user:-

1. I recommend you to reset the preferences of the application .
How:-

Open go to folder >>>type ~/library>>Check for the preference folder and Delete the latest setting for the adobe illustrator 24.

2. check with the fonts.
click on spotlight and find the font book and validate all the fonts if you find any corrupted Please remove all the fonts or move your system fonts and user fonts to the desktop
how:- click on go to >>Go to folder

***~/library>>>font ****user fonts
**/library>>font*****system fonts

3.client

How are using the suitcase fusion Please remove or uninstall the application and remove the framework.

4.Wacom tablet:-Please uninstall the wacom tablet and remove the framework of wacom tablet from the user folder ~/library

5.Still you are facing the issue check the application performance in the root account.

24.0.1 keeps giving me a "CAN'T FINISH PREVIEW" error but if i open in v23 it opens just fine. Not sure why this release is so flawed.

I just installed version 24.0.1 and this is happening to me. Illustrator is basically unusable for me right now.

I am on v24 and just ran into this issue after updating.... This seriously hinders my ability to use Illustrator/make a living. PLEASE FIX!!

Problem has not been fixed even on Oct 2019.. What is Adobe doing actually?? I've 23.0.2...don't get why ths problems occurs so frequently... I'M A LOGO DESIGNER... & such recurring problems decrease my productivity... Reply ASAP ADOBE!!
