Sharp corners of a convex curve get displayed wrong
I've noticed on this newer version of Illustrator that some corners are showing an odd line overlap. Noticeable when zoomed in. I've attached pictures.
It is also applying this to shapes made in older versions.

This has been happening for years and still no fix?
How can we accurately create artwork when the app we are using can't even display it correctly? -

I'm still having this issue, often with clipping masks.

Another rendering bug was found in Illustrator CC 2021 - 2022 for desktop.
Preview for vector shapes with curves (Fill + No Stroke ) displays incorrectly on canvas.
Please see the screenshots and example file attached below:

I think it's pretty obvious that Adobe don’t care about their Illustrator users at all. I've been reporting this bug, and a host of others, to them for a few years and absolutely NONE of them have been fixed.

This is still happening as of Illustrator version 26.3.1 on MacOS.

Agreed with previous commenter that unchecking GPU Performance in Preferences is not a viable solution.

The comment to "UNCHECK 'GPU Performance'" is utter nonsense. What, I'm supposed to slow down the performance of Illustrator on my Mac and make using it an even more painful chore than it already is? Madness!

Go to Preferences >Performance> UNCHECK 'GPU Performance'
It will work

Same thing here.
My main tool, working fine for decades… is no longer reliable anytime I zoom in !
What kind of evolution is that ?
I've endure this bug for a few years now, driving me crazy. Thought I was alone, and accused my cheap computer (Mac mini 2018). Hoped it would disappear with my new Mac Studio M1 Max… but no. And now I find that's it's a common problem.
ADOBE !! Are you listening ?!! That's way more important that any half-baked new feature we don't need !
Any young designer realizing this, will go straight to Affinity. My old habits keep me in the Adobe ecosystems… but you are forcing me to look for alternative. Can't continue like this for years again.

v.26.3.0In GPU View mode, angled anchor points with curves display distortions that disappear when viewing in CPU mode.
This has been happening for a while (easily 1-2 years, if not longer), and continues to happen in the latest version of Illustrator (26.2.1), as well as the Illustrator 26.3.0 prerelease version.
After several hours of testing with an Adobe Specialist, I was told there is no current solution, and that the issue will be logged and "might be resolved with future releases."
Please upvote this so the engineers recognize this as a valid concern that needs to be addressed. Viewing in GPU mode makes working in large Illustrator files tolerable, as viewing in CPU mode is ungodly slow. It's unacceptable that I need to toggle back and forth between these two views just to ensure my shapes look correct.

when I go to track only mode (COMM + Y) that piece that protrudes outside the track is non-existent and it is not possible to modify it.

to me is the same, the fill overflows into a path with a very narrow vertex. this problem occurs only with the latest version of illustrator and not with the previous ones. It is not the first time this has happened to me but in this case it is crucial for the realization of the project.

Still having this problem, and wasting time cursing/remembering what the fix was. CPU view fixes it, v25.4.1 on a 2019 MBP running Catalina 10.15.7.

This issue wasted so much valuable billing time. Hopefully it can be resolved soon. I accidentally stumbled across the 'View using CPU/View using GPU' option after I tried every possible thing I could think of. Trying to google this issue was painful because my search phrase/words were producing unrelated results.

Same GPU related issues (Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB) with similar issues...
At random, after outlining (some) fonts, and then adding a stroke, I will get all these weird issues where a jagged stroke occurs. Or where a line makes an angle, these errors appear. They are not showing up in the preview, and if back-save the file and open it with Illustrator 2019, the errors no not appear.
Also to note, that Illustrator 2019 V 23.1.1 Has GPU Performance turned on and does not have this issue.
Yes turning off GPU Performance removes these issues, but Illustrator is almost non-functional with this turned off.

Magnus, the only way to workaround for now it is to disable GPU preview. This is a rendering bug.
