151 votesThis issue is probably happening because the artboard dimensions are not appropriate for raster export (i.e. are in decimals).
If you make x and y values as the whole numbers in the transform panel (not in decimal), then the extra pixels will not be added to the exported image.That is the workaround, and it’s reported that it’s not always the case.
At the same time — Ai knows the size of artboards to be exported and yet it does not deliver the set sizes, which is not fair. The team is going to rethink the algorithm.

As per the comment:
Illustrator allows to access dimensions of an object as well as dimensions of a live shape. In case when a shape is rotated by 90° the shape’s size values can look swapped compared to measured sizes. It’s like tilting a head. See attached images inside for clarifications.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

1. Quit Illustrator if it is already launched
2. Go to the following location in finder:
• /Users//Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 23 Settings//DVADialogPrefs/
3. Please rename the file DVADialogPrefs.xml to DVADialogPrefs_old.xml
4. Launch AI and create a new document
5. Open the File >> File Info dialogNote:
USERNAME is your machines user name
LOCALENAME is the AI language in which the app is installed
If you have different version than 23 then the file will be in another similar folder.An error occurred while saving the comment CDJ

When selecting File > File Info menu item, no dialog box appears. I am not able to use Illustrator and all the menus are grayed out.
If I hit Return, I am able to use Illustrator and my menus return.
I have tried with plugging in an external monitor, changing workspaces, and floating windows. No dialog box appears. I need to update metadata on Illustrator files.

Please share your thoughts on the following:
1. Would it make sense to have a separate desktop app, just to create charts, and bring them inside Illustrator or InDesign? It may not be on cloud.
2. Or would you rather have us work on building it within Illustrator?

Back again to voice my vote on the need for Illustrator to provide charting tools.
The best case scenario, from my perspective, is to do both, continue developing Data Illustrator and also update the basic tools in Illustrator.
In Illustrator proper, we NEED to create basic charts using industry standard ways to deal with data, e.g., working with data as it is typically found— in csv, spreadsheets, xml, JSON, etc. From that, we need to create the standard charts and graphs in Illustrator.
A typical workflow is to start in Excel or R studio, generate a chart and bring it into Illustrator. It would be great to be able to stay in Illustrator to do the basics.
Then, Data Illustrator becomes the opportunity to truly innovate visualizing data. While exciting, we need to have the basics first.

I would lean towards incorporating this into Illustrator because it has more robust editing tools. I like where Project Lincoln is heading but we really need a wide variety of data viz options and that seems like it would be best done inside AI.
Current chart types needed, beyond the standards, would include:
- Scatter Plots
- Bullet charts
- dendograms, sankey and alluvial diagrams
- treemaps
- circle packing and clusters, bubble charts,
- parallel coordinates
- gant chart
- steam graphs
- sunburst, chord diagramsIf you added cartographic mapping it would be amazing!!!
However, I would take ANYTHING at this point.
Any timing available for Project Lincoln?
