  1. Contextual Pie-menus, like Radiant menus by Wacom

    creating a contextual "shortcut" menu overlapping layer to access quickly Tools. This is a kind of Radiant Menu developed by Wacom on their tablet for example or Alias marking menu. This should really improve workflow ergonomics.

  2. Keyboard shortcut to hide/show selected layer / object

    Option to assign a keyboard shortcut for hide/show selected layer / object. Currently you have to click on the eye icon, which is pretty cumbersome. (for eg Photoshop has this feature, I think).

    (I'm on a project where you need to trace this huge sketch with ready made elements and so toggle layer visibility is a fast way to see how things are aligning.) Cheers!

  3. Paste svg content from clipboard, not underlying xml content

    There are several design tools that can put SVG text on the clipboard including Illustrator. Please support pasting that content from the clipboard as content, not xml text. XD does this correctly, so Illustrator should too.

    We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

  4. Custom templates / presets should not be stored in the application folder

    Custom templates, etc. should not have to be stored in the application folder... which means I'm throwing away user-generated documents when I upgrade the app.

  5. Reinstate The Functionality Of The Swatches Panel In CS 5.5

    I’d like to see the functionality of the Swatch panel that was in (Windows) Ai CS 5.5 reinstated. Specifically, when the panel was opened, I used to be able to toggle through the Color Modes by holding Shift and clicking on the color square (thumbnail). If I held Cntrl, it would toggle to the color compliment. These were two great features that were eliminated with CS 6 through to the current version of CC 2017. Bring these back!!

  6. Visual Keyboard Shortcut Editor, for mapping hotkeys, like Premiere and After Effects have

    I just saw YouTube videos of Adobe demonstrating the latest versions of Premiere Pro CC and After Effects at IBC 2017.

    Finally After Effects is getting its own mappable keyboard shortcuts like the one in Premiere Pro. But what about Illustrator and Photoshop?

    We Photoshop and Illustrator users definitely need this too!

  8. Archimedean Spirals

    Surely this should just be a default option for spiral drawing, in the current state of design i would imagine regular spirals would be used far more often than logarithmic, the current way to create them is lengthy and cumbersome.

  9. The process of making icons design is made easier in Adobe Illustrator CC.

    When an illustrator or designer designs a collection of pictograms or icons designs they must arrange artboards in large quantities for different icons design according to the needs of the web, apps, and other products. Adobe Illustrator CC must provide special needs for artboard settings to facilitate the process of designing a collection of pictograms or icons design with large numbers to suit many needs such as for web, apps, games, favicons, etc. Facilitate the work process becomes lighter and faster.

  13. Remove F1 key as help key

    I use the F-keys frequently for Actions. However, F1 is defaulted to launching Illustrator's help screen and I'm regularly hitting the key by mistake. Could we please have a different way to launch the help screen and free up the F1 key for other, customisable, uses?

    Here is the way to customise the keys – please thank Ryan if you found it useful.

    “You can go to edit/keyboard shortcuts, then choose menu commands. Find help, and clear the F1 key from it or pick it as another one. Save it as your own custom keyboard preset and you’re good to go.”

  14. Allow Aligning Stroke to Inside and Outside of Text

    Currently strokes can only be aligned to the center of the edge of text (see red stroke in attached example), it would be very helpful to be able to set strokes to inside and especially outside (bottom/green example) of text while still being able to edit it. This is especially useful when you want to make text standout on a busy background. Thank you!

  15. Asset Export - Ability to reorder asset list view and group items

    Asset Export - Ability to reorder asset list view:

    Love the asset export, but it'd be really useful to click/drag change the order of my asset list in Asset Export panel.

    It would also be great to have an option to group by art board. When I have a file of 20+ ad variants as their own individual artboard and want to export assets, it's a pain to keep track of things. It's also too bad that if I make a new asset later in the process, there's no way to group that asset next to the others in the…

  16. XD style snapping and spacing

    Adobe Experience Design has a nice snapping and spacing function that would drastically increase the power of Illustrator. Being able to more easily repeat objects and adjust the spacing between them by clicking and dragging while being able to see a measure of the spacing.

  17. Allow adding Patterns and Gradient swatches to Color Groups

    Expanding on the existing request for gradient swatch support in color groups... We need groups that support all swatch types. I understand the purpose of Color Groups but the intuitive way to use these folders is as a generic "Swatch Group", without limitation to swatch type in order that we can organize assets appropriately within a project.

    My suggestion is either to allow gradient and pattern swatches to be added to a Color Groups or add a new super group type that can contain any swatch type and color groups as well.

  18. Artboard background color needs to be user-assignable

    We need to be able to change artboard background color.

    Working on pure white is straining on the eyes and it's rarely appropriate for non-print projects (99% of my work). Having to draw colored rectangles, lock them or put them on separate layers, and then manage them when we resize or duplicate artboards is painful and tedious.

    Let's have an icon for it next to the artboard name (in the Artboard palette) where we can choose a swatch (including transparent).

    Let's support changing multiple artboard colors at once with multi-selection.

  19. Free Transform of Text does not operate as expected

    Free Transform of Text does not operate as expected; Text should rotate with the text box when using free transform - instead the text does not rotate. Having to stop my workflow to find the rotate command and then guess what angle I need to rotate is a time waster.

  20. Select Same / Larger / Smaller Size

    The Select Same Color, Appearance, Opacity is quite helpful. Add a new option for Size. The area size of the current selected element would be calculated and then used to find other similar objects within the document that meet that same area size.

    A tolerance up or down or range could be provided as well. It would also be helpful to offer a setting for "Select Anything this size and smaller/larger".

    This kind of feature would be very helpful when attempting to clean up an illustration generated from a live traced sketch.
