Illustrator 29.4

Use Cmd Shift 4 and drag a screendump to an artboard
Drag and Drop from Photoshop a layer with transparency to an Illustrator artboard.

@Geny, I thought I was kidding myself too, it is normally something I recommend when thing behave weird. Resetting worked for me in a beta version. Then I tried the latest regular version which still had the problem, resetting prefs fixed it. Then I tried downloading the latest Prerelease version, still problems, resetting Prefs fixed them.

@Ton OMG! I thought you were kidding... although I lost all my settings (I knew it would do that but I had to try) it DID work!!!

Today I did go to Settings > Preferences and clicked the Reset Preferences button. Somehow this fixed the problem with the disappearing images for me. Can someone else try this too?

This is still an issue for me as well, but I have had success with rasterizing the screenshot after I drag it into Illustrator. Hope this helps!

When I initially drag and drop an image or clip from Photoshop to Illustrator, it shows up fine and I am able to manipulate the image in Illustrator. But once I save and close the file, upon reopening the file, the images are gone. Left only are empty boxes where the images were.
It's quite frustrating to do the work and then come back later unable to see or output the design. This has been an issue for the past several months, so I suspect something broke with the latest update. I am using Illustrator 29.5.1 on M1 MacbookPro.

Since this year’s update, the newest version of Illustrator has a serious issue: on macOS, when I drag an object from Photoshop into Illustrator as a TIFF, the object disappears.
• While I’m working, the imported TIFF sometimes vanishes from the artboard.
• When I save the file as a PDF, the object is missing almost 100 % of the time. Please fix this urgently!
I sent a file to the print shop—and who would ever imagine that the object could simply be gone from the PDF?

Please fix this issue. It is causing me endless problems. I try to drag my illustration files from photoshop over to illustrator and they disappear from visibility with no way of seemingly getting them back. This is SO frustrating and infuriating. This issue has been on going for weeks and not yet fixed.

Ive got the same Issue with Illustrator and with my Mac I can ONLY update to 29.5.1.
I bring in Tiif files and they disappear or make black lines! I have to keep redoing work. Now Im forced to only use Photoshop for most of my work.
So you only fixing it now with the new update? I cannot afford to buy a New MAC now just to be able to work in Illustrator. Im paying for Illustrator and my Mac is not so old. Is there any way they can fix 29.5.1 which a lot of people are using? 2 of My co-workers got the same problem, -

if I drag and drop I rasterize the image and it stays on the document if I forget to do that I lose the image

After taking a screenshot on Mac (Command+Shift+4) and dragging it into an AI open document, the screenshot appears perfect for a little bit and then gets corrupted, cannot go back and the only option is to delete it. I noticed dragged screenshots were imported as .png previously, but now they're imported as .tiff. However, if you drag the screenshot from a folder/desktop, it works perfect and the file extension is still .png. Only happens when dragging it inmediately after taking the screenshot.

I have the same problem in MacOS 15.4.1 after updating to 29.5, had to roll back to 29.3.1.
When dragging a screenshot directly to Illustrator, it looks normal at first, but disappears after working on the file for a while. "Show in Finder" just opens some tmp file, so the content of the screenshot is lost completely. Makes working on quick mockups impossible.

I am having this issue as well.
I understand that in order to prevent, we need to save and place images... but its not always realistic to do so... pasting images in documents is part of our workflow. Everything I've been working on is affected - with plenty of space on my drive, and after saving, reopening the program. What is the deal?? -

Drag and drop from photoshop to Illustrator is not working, or worst, works for a while and then the images disappear. Is a very value tool when you work between photoshop and illustrator... I don'n understand why always worked but now Adobe can't fix it. Please guys!!!!!
