1. Interaction in graphic styles, with several inputs

   Graphic styles is only something you apply. I would like some interactions possibilities with the graphic styles, so that you for example could get an interactions panel that told you what kind of interactions you could do (insert photo/graphic/text etc). And that when you clicked on each possible interaction in the panel, then a pin, marked box or something would highlight in the graphic where the input would take place. Like many web images have, with hot spots. Would be one way to do it. The important thing is not how it is done, but that you get to have more interaction with graphic styles, and several input possibilities under one graphic style via appearance.

2. Add an option to hide the color spectrum bar at the bottom of the Color panel

   I would like to request an option to hide the color spectrum bar located at the bottom of the Color panel.

   For users who input colors using CMYK or RGB percentages, the color spectrum bar becomes an obstruction. This is particularly problematic when switching to a smaller panel docked below the Color panel, as the spectrum can display with an excessively tall vertical height. Having to manually resize the Color panel every time just to make the color spectrum smaller is cumbersome.

   Please consider implementing this feature.

3. Metadata on ASE

   For me and many designers, color is an asset with information associated with it that I need to follow this asset as it moves from different design programs. With metadata attached to file, I would be able to utilize the features in InDesign and other programs to auto populate this information into text fields. Additionally if this metadata ASE file was a library shared between many users and the any of the tagged information on a color was changed, this update would shoot out to any documents using this color. It would reduce:
   -errors by relying on one source of truth for all the color information.
   -time spent typing in this information and free up time for design instead of administrative tasks.
   -time spent tracking down where colors were used to update any changes.

4. Add Biology & Scientific Diagram Tools for Easy Cell and Medical Illustrations

   As an illustrator specializing in biology, microbiology, and scientific educational diagrams, I often find it time-consuming and challenging to create natural-looking cells, organelles, biological textures, and clean labels within Adobe Illustrator. To improve workflow and accuracy, I propose that Adobe adds a dedicated set of toolbar tools designed specifically for biological and scientific illustrations, focusing on ease of use, organic shapes, and diagramming features.

   Suggested Tools Include:

   Organic Blob Tool: Create irregular, smooth cell shapes with adjustable wobble and roundness.

5. Eyedropper doesn't include the arrow heads on a line

   If I have a line selected and I use the eyedropper on a different line with a stroke and arrow heads, it only copies the stroke not the arrow heads.

   Please make it include the arrow heads.

   Also, the most useful arrow head is number 27, it should be number 1 not number 27.

   In fact, if there was a checkbox you could click in the stroke properties window that automatically changed a line to a measurement label so it put an arrowhead 27 on each end, changed the stroke to like 4pt yellow, and a text box half way along the line with the length of the line in millimetres, that would be so good! There is a tool in Sketchup with a measuring tape icon that does exactly this if you need a reference point.

   The Eyedropper tool’s options can be configured to transfer arrowheads, which are treated as 'complex appearance'.

6. Add a setting for "Solid" in the leading field of the type panel

   Illustrator defaults to "Auto" in regards to leading - about 120% of the point size of the type. When using display faces, I often find I set type a lot tighter - usually around the same leading as the point size. It would be really helpful if there were a setting for that in the type panel, so that as I change the point size of the type (say from 24 pts to 72 pts) the leading would also change automatically from 24 pts to 72 pts - just as it would from one size to another when the leading is set to "Auto."

   This would save me the trouble of having to reset the leading every time I adjust a block of text. Think of this as a "sand in the swimsuit" issue - just one of those minor annoyances that have a simple solution.

   We can change the value Illustrator uses as 'auto' in Justification dialog, which you can access via the Paragraph panel’s menu. Change 'Auto Leading' to 100% to get what you want.

   If you want this setting to be applied to all new text objects, you should open Paragraph Styled panel, and edit the [Normal Paragraph Style].

   If you want this to be applied to every new document you make, you should learn about editing document profile files Illustrator uses as core templates. Just don’t forget to backup these.

7. An ability to lock the order of layers, but not their content

   On fixing the hierarchy of layers.

   In data with a large number of layers, such as a map, the vertical relationship and stacking order of objects is very important. We are very careful not to make mistakes, but there are times when our hands slip and we end up moving them.
   At the moment we can lock objects, but we can always manipulate the vertical relationship of objects.
   If there is a lot of demand for the ability to lock the vertical relationship other than mine, I would like to see improvements.

8. 29.7.1 macOS - PDF Export- Critical Parser failure: Unknown character in content stream

   In the macOS version of Adobe Illustrator 29.7.1, there is indeed a critical bug. When exporting files containing a large amount of text that has been converted to outlines, the resulting PDF file becomes corrupted.

   To verify the issue, please follow the steps below using the attached file:
   1. Launch Adobe Illustrator on macOS (I use Sequoia 15.6)
   2. Open the attached .ai file
   3. Export the file as a PDF using the “High Quality Print” preset

   Result: The exported PDF will appear corrupted, just like the attached example. Furthermore, when attempting to open the PDF in Acrobat Pro, the following error is displayed:
   Critical Parser failure: Unknown character in content stream.

   This issue does not occur on the Windows version of Illustrator. Could one of you confirm this bug? If this is indeed a reproducible problem, the development team should fix it as soon as possible.

9. Some way to control the mesh density of generated 3D objects?

   I'm using Illustrator to turn some 2D drawings into 3D objects which I export as OBJ/GLTF to other software. The process is really quick and simple, and produces very smooth and clean mesh objects, however... I'm having trouble with the total lack of control over the geometry density/resolution of the generated 3D model.
   I've experimented with increasing the number of anchor points and size of the drawing to see if I would get a 3D model made of more polygons and vertices, but had no success.
   It would be amazing if there was a proper way to control the generated 3D mesh density. For instance, maybe a dropdown next to a Mesh Density input with a High, Medium and Low option (using the current built-in mesh density as a Medium position)? Thanks.

10. Missing languages from character panel for automation

    I need to automate the language parameter from the Character panel on Illustrator. It is already available for most languages but it looks like the recent languages that have been added in Illustrator are not available for automation. We need to set this up to have the correct hyphenation in the text frames. For example, if we activate the hyphenation for illustrator files that contains Thai strings, it won’t hyphenate the strings correctly until we set the language.

    The list available for automation can be found from the Illustrator scripting library on macOS (it contains everything we can use for automation with Illustrator).

    You can find it if you follow these steps:
    1/ Open Script Editor (installed by default on your Mac)
    2/ CMD+SHIFT+L to open the Library
    3/ Click on the + button and add Adobe Illustrator 2019 app (/Applications/Adobe\ Illustrator\ CC\ 2019/Adobe\ Illustrator.app/)
    4/ Double click Adobe Illustrator 2019 to open the library
    5/ Search for the language parameter in the library
    6/ It will show the list available for automation (that is different from the list in the UI on Illustrator)

11. Finished art / dtp related issue

    New Bug
    in the latest version of AI , overprinting type objects all of a sudden have the correct colour i asigned & the correct overprint or knockout behaviour in the attribute field, however, if you generate seps or activate seperation preview it shows that type boxes remember their previous colour & setting - however they are showing the newly assigned setting but the behaviour does not match

    i believe it originates if type boxes are grouped to other type boxes or objects, if i have a group of various elements, it should allow me without ungrouping & entering each individual type box, to change the obkect as a whole unit, in its colour & overprint behaviour. The program currently misleads the user, displaying things correctly but its not correct on a techmnical level.

    there is no benefit to this function & in the previous version i was not forced to go into each text box & double check if it Acvtually has my chosen colour & attribute.

    Its a programming error from where i am standing as it doesnt benefit anyone to have hte entire group look correct, but in fact it could be three colours and two different overprint behaviours - this only creates varioubles that are not needed.

    Surprised this software still doesn't have a simple toggle arrow button in it's Transform menus.

    Like, swiping values between the Horizontal and Vertical planes with the Move tool.

13. Ability to set line width based on the angle of the line

    I'd like to be able to set the line width based on the angle of the line, so if the line width is 10 pt on horizontal lines, and you set it so it's 90% of that on vertical lines, it automatically sets it to 95% on 45 degree lines etc.

    In the example image you'd just have to draw a circle, set it to a 10 pt line and then set the thickest point (vertical) to 400% of the thinnest part (the horizontal).

    The controls for this would be simple, all you need to be able to do is to set a relative (percentage) value + degree. So in the example image it'd be 400% + 90 degrees = meaning the line becomes 400% thicker at a vertical angle.

    This would be especially useful in fontmaking when you need to optically correct the lines depending on the angle.

    This effect can be achieved with Calligraphy brushes. Set one up in Brushes panel, use angle 0, change the size to be the thickest weight you want, and use the roundness value to change it at thinner horizontal parts. If you want 4x difference, set it to 25% of the set size. Done — apply it to any path you want.

14. Alternative 'Object width/height' and gap options under Effect > Transform > Move

    A couple of checkboxes in that panel for the dynamic size of the object could be handy. A gap value would also be great for the static gaps around multiplied objects. I've experienced 2 similar cases where that option could save me time:

    1) Create an object and use 'Effect > Transform' panel to create copies, giving a horizontal or vertical move value. Then edit the object and change its bounding box. They either overlap or the gap between them widens.

    2) Create the left half of a graphic you want dynamically be mirrored onto the right side. To use the same panel first you need to copy the width of the graphic. Then in the panel, you input 1 as the copy amount, select 'Reflect X' option below and finally paste the copied width into the 'Move > Horizontal' area. So far so good. Now alter the graphic in a way the width of its bounding box changes. The duplicated mirror graphic will no longer stick to the left, editable part of the graphic. Again, they will either overlap or there'll be a gap between the two. Each time the bounding box changes you have to copy the width and edit transform values accordingly. Unnecessary time and effort.

    My suggestion: If there was a checkbox next to both move directions indicating 'object width/height' as alternatives, it would be much easier and time saving to accomplish such actions. Alternatively, for those who want to duplicate a graphic n times, a user input with the gap amount could make it easier to retain the gap between copies. I've edited the screenshot of the panel with my suggestion applied.

15. Enhancing Symbols in Adobe Illustrator

    I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my appreciation for the incredible work you've done with Adobe Illustrator and to request a feature enhancement that I believe would greatly benefit the user experience. Specifically, I would like to propose improvements to the Symbols feature, focusing on the ability to change the values of instances, such as text or color, and the inclusion of multiple predefined values, such as night and day themes. Additionally, I would like to suggest improvements to the 9-slice feature, making it more responsive and adaptable to different sizes, similar to Figma components.

16. The "Select Same" function including points as a choice

    As of now, the Select menu includes "Same" and "Object". With a point not being an object, it would be under the "Same" submenu where it only has the option of selecting shapes and/or texts under certain conditions.

    If in need to select multiple points, we could use the Direct Selection tool to select each of the points, but similar to shapes and texts, it would be helpful to have a one-click solution to select the points.

    Some conditions to include (similar to "Select >> Same >> Fill Color") could be:
    - the points having to be on a certain x-coordinate
    - the points having to be on a certain y-coordinate
    - the points having to be anchor points
    - the points having to be mesh points

    Having to be on a certain x-coordinate would mean if you have one point selected, it would select all the other unlocked points on the same x-coordinate.

    Having to be on a certain y-coordinate would be the same as above but with the y-coordinate of the selected point.

    Having to be anchor points would be so you can change the angle/length of every unlocked path's anchor points to the same angle/length, though the appearance of the path will depend a lot on where the points are located and the start-off angle/length of those anchor points.

    Having to be mesh points would mean they are part of an unlocked mesh. This would especially be helpful with the already existing "Save Selection" and "Edit Selection" options so we would be able to go back to those mesh points and do things such as change the coordinates of all those selected.

17. Offer more control for managing Profile Mismatching per image

    Profile mismatch alerts are given per each linked image, and the choices offered don’t allow to control this efficient enough.

    Please give us these things:

    1 - Ability to hide alerts in bulk
    It would be helpful if, like with other features, there could be a checkbox option for “Apply this action to all future alerts” to handle this.

    2 - Clear indication of which image the alert is referring to
    There may be cases where you’d want to fix a linked image with an irregular color setting, so the following detailed options might be useful:
    — A “Details” button displayed in the alert dialog
    — Clicking “Details” would show a list of linked files with different color settings
    — The ability to convert the color settings of the selected or all linked files to the color settings of the current file
    — Since linked images are often reused within the same project, this feature would be convenient as it would prevent errors when the linked images are used in other files as well.

18. When moving objects with the arrow keys, hide its bounding box and edges

    When moving objects with the mouse, its bounding box and edges hide, but when moving them with arrow keys, they don't.
    This would be very useful when in need of aligning by eye.

19. Change the basis of the the zero angle

    I've always found the decision to have zero degrees along the horizontal odd and out of whack with many other applications and approaches. Being able to assign it vertical (north), would be much more useful and predictable, so as not needing to assign negative or positive values, or other weird differentials to actually get the correct angle.

20. Problemas de Herramientas de Selección, Distrosión, Entre otras.

    He usado Affinity Designers 2, Por temas empresariales comence a trabajar con Adobe illustrator... Encontre tantas herramientas que estan defasadas y no evolucionan..

    Primero:
    La Herramientas de seleccion debería por si sola tambien trabajar con la distorción del objeto y no requerir una herramienta adicional para distorcionar, dejen el orgullo y aprendan de las novedades a de affinity y apliquenlas en adobe.

    Herramienta de Reflejo...
    No es más facil tener un botor de reflejo en la parte superior o en el menu de propiedades?
    Les explico, en affinity solo presionas un boton y puf, reflejo, tanto horizontal como vertical, y tambien la rotaciones... MUY UTIL Y RAPIDO.
    Piensan que seleccionar la herramienta... dar click como se hará el reflejo... y luego dar aceptar.... Affinity lo resolvio bastante rapido... botones especificos para cada acción puntual.... Creo que pagando una mensualidad, minimo merecemos aplicaciones mas intuitivas..

    Herramienta de Desplazamiento...
    No es mas facil una herramienta a selecionar y que uno libremente vaya desplazando el contorno en tiempo real?
    por que AI no funciona en tiempo real cuando vamos a configurar alguna herramienta?

    Herramienta de degradado en los textos..
    Al momento de crear un texto por primera vez e intentar colocarle un degradado con la herramienta... no funciona... porque? simple, para que funcione debes irte al panel de apariencia y crear un color para el texto y luego aplicar el degradado... entonces pregunto yo ¿Acaso el objeto no debería venir con un color por default? Repito, usen affinity y copien las cosa buenas, apliquenla a AI, la gente se los agradecerá.

    Herramienta de Transparencia?
    Creen que es más facil: seleccionar un objeto, aplicarle un degradado, luego poner los dos colores iguales, luego aplicar mas transparencia a un color que a otro, para crear el efecto de que el objeto es transaprente... a.. Selecionar la herramienta "transparencia" que no existe, deslizar sobre el objeto seleccionado y voala! transparencia al instante.... No debe ser tan dificil para adobe...

    Herramienta de texto...
    Mientra colocas el texto en la mesa de trabajo, tienes que irte al panel de opciones de texto para agradar dicho texto.... SE PIERDE TIEMPO.

    no es mejor dar click, arrastrar y el texto se agrande?

    ¿Por que no prueban affinity y copian un par de funciones?
    Creanme que no se arrepentirán.

    Otra cosa... comiencen a simplificar las herramientan, hay demasiadas que se notan repetitivas.

    Saludos! espero mis sugerencias sean tomadas en cuenta, por que sinceramente, illustrator esta apareciendo el freehand de hace unos años atras.... en vez de mejorar su interfaz y hacerla mas amigable, le mete mas y mas herramientas dispersadas por todo el programa.
