FreeForm Gradient point should also move on transforming Freeform Art
Today I ran into a problem with Adobe Illustrator artwork featuring some freeform gradient fills. I had a to create flipped, mirrored version of it for printing purposes (graphics would be applied sub-surface to a sign face). The problem is the freeform gradient fills wouldn't flip with the rest of the artwork. I attached a visual example of it. Using the "expand appearance" command allowed for the artwork to be flipped 180° correctly. It would be nice if I could avoid that kind of a fix.

Unite/Merge paths creating groups instead of Compound path
When trying to combine individual paths (text outlines, shapes, etc) the pathfinder tool seems to be creating groups, rather than creating a compound path as expected.
Other colleagues have been experiencing similar issues. Video attached.

Effect 3D Rotate perspective error
With Effects/3D Rotate, Illustrator can't render a placed image using a high perspective value. The image is all distorted. See screenshots:
1 voteHi,
Thanks for reporting this issue, Illustrator Team really appreciate this.
To adjust the perspective, enter a value between 0 and 160 in the Perspective text box. A smaller angle is similar to a telephoto camera lens; a larger lens angle is similar to a wide-angle camera lens. A lens angle that is higher than 150 may result in objects extending beyond your point of view and appearing distorted

Pathfinder options not working no matter what I do
Hi I am using Adobe Illustrator on a Windows PC and I was trying to use the Pathfinder Tool to simply 'minus front' some text on a shape for a logo I am trying to create. But, whenever I go to use the Pathfinder tool and click on in in the Windows Drop Down Menu - because its not even an option on the side bars?- nothing happens. I've tried to group the text and the shape as well as creating outlines but nothing is working. Nothing is popping up. I am simply trying to make transparent text in a…

Free Distort doesn't apply to certain gradient strokes
I was working on a type effect when I realized the Free Distort filter (found under Effect > Distort & Transform > Free Distort) doesn't apply when the selected object uses a stroke with a gradient that is applied along or across the stroke. Is this intentional? I hope it isn't since it doesn't seem intentional.
Here's how I did it.
Create a rectangle. Make sure it has a fill color. Then add a stroke and pick a gradient. Change the stroke style to be either the second or third option. Then apply the Free Distort filter to the object…1 vote -

Stroke with gradient: overprinting attribute not set
When a stroke with a gradient is set to overprinting, the overprinting attribute is not set anymore when reopening the file.
Attached is a screenshot of an example.
We are using CC 2018 and CC 2017, on Mac OS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 on various machines.

Small negatiive Offset Path Pica values don't work
Use Picas as document unit.
Select an object
Use Offset Path (Effect or Object Menu option)
Try toEnter a small negative value like -0p5
It wont allow you to use a negative value.between 0p0 and -0p11
Switching to a different document unit works.

freeform gradient broken and malfunctioning
Love the capabilities of the new freeform gradient tool; however there are some unusual behaviors and bugs preventing it from working as expected. Firstly, if you use direct select to move points of a shape around, color stops are deleted once they fall "outside" of the shape boundary. Normally, gradients can fall outside of a shape, and are visually "clipped" by the mask of the shape.
Secondly, upon reopening a document with freeform gradients, I have found that the gradients are static images clipped to a shape. When I use direct select to select a shape, it selects the gradient…

Why can't you use negative numbers in Move transform panel?
This is such a bizarre bug. Sometimes the panel will come in with negative numbers already in there (based on a previous move by hand in the program?) But make any adjustment and the number turns positive. I can work around it using reflect tool but it shouldn't require such an extra work around.

Gaussian Blur Bug
When applying gaussian blur to a shape, the effect looks "pixely" in various zoom percentages. The screenshot shows 100% and it does not look right. If I zoom in to 150% it looks fine, but at 200% it looks strange again. This did not happen in CC 2018.
Can we get this fixed? Thanks!

Neon glow
Every time I try to change the color of the Neon Glow filter, it always goes back to black. I've tried a lot of different things, but nothing works. I looked on the internet if there's a way to fix it, but seems that everyone has the same problem with Neon Glow.

Shear in Transform Panel doesn't add numbers
In the Transform Panel I use the mouse wheel to adjust the Shear of an object but it does not show the degrees that it is moving. The object does adjust but the panel only reports 0°. As I scroll with the mouse wheel I can see the number flickering. When I click on the selection arrow I can select a number but that only adds to the number of degrees instead of telling me how many degrees I have adjusted it. I have attached a short video where I am adjusting the shear using the mouse wheel

Weird Transparency Issue
So, I have a very odd quirk happening. When I changed an element from 100% opaque to 70% then copied it and grouped it. Now when I ungroup it the same element that was 70% opaque now thinks it is 100% opaque.
Essentially I can no longer make that element completely opaque anymore. I have to place another instance. This is a bit of a pain when I have resized or altered the placed element.
I am running the latest version of Illustrator as of this post.
I did some searching here and my issue is very similar to this…

Problem with raster effects printing
We have had to outlaw the use of raster effects here because of the distortion they cause when an AI file is saved as a PDF.
Our workflow for printing is the save our work from Illustrator as a PDF file which is then placed in an InDesign document. Any raster effects used in the graphic end up adding lines the edge of the effect as well as shifting the colors touched by the effect.
