Stroke with gradient: overprinting attribute not set
When a stroke with a gradient is set to overprinting, the overprinting attribute is not set anymore when reopening the file.
Attached is a screenshot of an example.
We are using CC 2018 and CC 2017, on Mac OS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 on various machines.
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Thanks for working on the issue.
I will have to wait for the full release as I rely on plug-in's that won't work with a Pre-Release.Just a side note an a work around I found... if you set the gradient stroke with overprint, then expand the shape it becomes a gradient mesh shape and the overprint stays after you save and re-open the file. It's very important to add the overprint before you expand the shape, if you do it after you expand the shape the overprint will not stay.

I ran into the same issue. (Caused me to misprint about 300 bucks worth of product.)
I used an overprint on the gradated stroke of an object ( Spot color gradation of 100% spot color and 0% of same spot color). Everything viewed correctly in Overprint Preview..then I saved it. When I opened the file back up it still looked correct in overprint preview even though the overprint stroke was now in-checked. Unfortunately just because Illustrator previewed it correctly the printer does not. I can't get it to save and stay an overprint... What gives Adobe. I really need this to work and it's not and there isn't anyway to be sure it's good before it goes to print. If we're talking about a large layout I could looks about 500 bucks in plastic everything Illustrator glitches out on this.
Please fix. -

Please test this file out:

Open, set overprint for gradient strokes, save, close, reopen, check overprints — they would be off! -

This problem is not specific to the document. Each document is valid for OVERPRINT, which is used after the line gradient has been applied.
close the document, then reopen it, the overprint option becomes inactive.
Flexible Packaging is a serious problem in the industry.
