Just like the title says. This is a really annoying problem. It happens every time when I save to Onedrive or when I use Illustrator files from the Google Drive File Stream. This is a long term problem for me and many others. Even tough people mark their problem as solved, it isn't.

I cant believe such a large company still has all these bugs, good god, error messages after error messages, files not being saved properly, countless errors and formats that cant be opened messages. What in the world am I paying for, I feel like I am rolling the dice with each saved document, totally disrupting my business. And on the forum all we get is some person saying to update, when of course that's what we all did and keeps posting the same thing avoiding any real answer, come on Adobe!

Echoing recent comments in hopes of pinging this to Adobe's attention. Using MacOS 10.15.4 and Illustrator 24.1.2. I get this dialog every time I try to save (not Save As). Mostly annoying, but still.

I am also using Illustrator 24.1.2 and MacOS 10.15.4, and still have this prompt appear when saving an Illustrator project. Not completed at all by Adobe.... I wonder if they read this topic anyway....

It still happens in version 24.1 (Mac)
It's really frustrating and annoying. It should be an option decide if you want illustrator to ask you about it or not -

Ok, so while I'm not getting the pop-up anymore, Illustrator becomes so busy whenever I work on a file with links that it freezes my ENTIRE system. I'm on Mac Mojave 10.14.6. I have to hard reboot the computer whenever this happens, which is often.

Same here. My file is on OneDrive on Mac. Although I haven't tested it, I suspect Dropbox-resident files would be the same, since I think all of these cloud apps are editing files to change the state of the sync icon for Finder/Explorer.

Yep, it's back for me as well (macOS 10.14.6, AI v24.1), started 1-2 days ago and now happens more than half the time I save. Note that I'm saving to a Google File Stream volume, if that makes a difference.
