Align to Artboard

All version of Illustrator before CC 2018 the Align to.. command would stick to Align to Artboard unless you clicked on another object to define a Key Object.

This upgrade keeps jumping back to align selections.

We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

    Please Adobe set the default to align to artboard.

    Please make the Align to Artboard the default setting. This is a significant oversight and is creating a lot more work for me.

    Is there any way to make a shortcut key for "Align to artboard"? This would be fantastic

    Figured out when exactly it switches back to "Align to Selection". It's when I enter "Edit Artboards" in "Document Setup" menu or directly by pressing Shift+O.

    This is quite an annoyance for me. I use the "Align" tool in my everyday work and it can lead to mistakes when I don't notice that "Align to" has been reset to "selection". How hard could it be to fix this bug?

    Align to point. NOT WORKING.

    Snap to Grid. NOT WORKING.

    This is a step back from previous versions. Also, Align should appear at all times when selecting an object.

    2017 version is set to Align to Artboard. 2018 version is default on Align to Selection. Very annoying to have to change it back to Align to Artboard. Rolled back to 2017 version until it's fixed.

    Very annoying. This happens with in the same document over and over. You select it to align to art board for one part. Then go to the next part and it's back to the align to section. Who the **** aligns to a section???!!!

    same here! you set align and then in new work or object select you have to do it again an again!

    Why can't Adobe go back to ANY other version of Illustrator and use that info to fix the align to artboard issue. EVERY other version has worked. This is really slowing down work progress. FIX IT NOW!!!

    While I go to artboard tool the align to option by default select to "Align to Selection" instead of last recognized selected option.

    I'm using Adobe Illustrator version 22. In the earlier versions of Illustrator, objects automatically align themselves according to artboard, not a selection. I see this behaviour changed since version 22. Whenever i create new path, object or something else, it needs to be configured to "align to artboard" since i mostly align things to artboard. And i see no option in preferences to change this behaviour. Anything created inside a document automatically configured as "align to selection". How can i change this to "align to artboard" permanently?

    latest update did not fix the issue of align to artboard resetting to align to selection. It should only change manually.
