Font drop down menu disappears
Whenever I select the font drop down menu, and I'm going through the fonts I have, it just randomly disappears as I'm looking through the fonts to find the one I want to use, although I can still use my arrow keys to go through the list even though the drop down menu isn't on my screen.
We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.
Please refer to our knowledge base FAQ – https://illustrator.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1844590 if you face difficulty in update.

What about if I'm having this issue with Illustrator CS6?

I had this happen and it was due to installing a ttf and otf font for the same font by accident. I uninstalled all my fonts including the system and still have issues with having done that. In the end I believe I only needed to delete the registry entries for just the fonts that I installed both versions. The issue is in your registry though and there are a couple of places these fonts live. I uninstalled and deleted fonts but would still have them show up in Illustrator and the problem with the font drop down menu not working persisted. I finally found all the folders within the registry where they existed and could delete just fonts in question. It solved the issue. You do not need to get creative cloud to solve it.

My autofill is gone for my fonts. It also will add a random letter or two when I try to type a font name. This is awful. We are paying subscription rates and losing necessary services. This is making my job a lot harder, since I can no longer type in partials to access my fonts. Or even the whole font name. The functionality has just disappeared.

just a BS way to force users to buy another product by deliberately breaking functions on a product they already paid for

Same issue here. This issue is new but I have had issues for two months with Adobe. I have spent countless hours trying to fix random issues that Adobe could have prevented.

A month to fix the font menu? Way to go Adobe!!! What about the keyline preview? I'm not keen on losing another day of productivity getting frustrated with my tools. The cloud subscription model has turned creatives into BETA testers to the detriment of their creative flow states.

Awesome! Thing is I later realized that this happens only when I have Outline Object applied to text.
Do you know if this fix address that?
(One of the first things I do after creating text is applying Outline Object. It makes selecting and moving text so much easier.)
