Moving objects - error message "can't move the object"
I'm working with vectors and type. Since the update to CC2018, at random moments and in multiple files, I'll select a vector object and select some text, then try to move them, and I'll receive the error message "Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large". The problem is going to force me to revert back to the 2017 version of Illustrator - please make sure this is fixed ASAP. See attached screen grab.
We have tried to fix the issue in the current release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.
Please refer to our knowledge base FAQ – https://illustrator.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1844590 if you face difficulty in the update.

PS: We are only referring to the issue that got introduced in CC 2018. As I can see there were few workflows that were existing even in older releases. Please log a separate request for it so that we all can track it better
I running 23.1 and I have this same issue.

Make sure while selecting your object you are not selecting the "guides". In my case guides were hidden and when i'm dragging and selecting the object my guides were also selected, that's why i'm getting this error.
1. Click "Ctrl + ;" to unhide the guides
2. Delete guides from layers and then select your object.
As you can see in the screenshots:
1. In 1st screenshot my guides are hidden and i'm getting the error.
2. In 2nd screenshots the guide are show after pressing "Ctrl + ;" or View>Guides>Show Guides.
3. I have unhide the Guides from layer panel or delete them.
After that i'm able to Drag my object.
This worked for me! Thank you so much! Finding this as an issue for most adobe packages. A lot of bugs still in 2019. 2018 works great currently!
It's unbelievable the amount of failures at every Adobe and Windows upgrade, someone needs to take some legal action.
I've updated to the latest, have to guides to clear. Why does this problem exist? Why should we even have to look for stray points or delete guides. This is a ridiculous problem.
I'm on CS6, it's point-remnants of guidelines I have deleted with a direct selection tool.
To fix this:
1. zoom out completely,
2. select the offending object to see the location of these points just at the edge of the workspace
3. ungroup it and delete them manually

Remove guidelines works for me too!!!
I'm also having this issue in the latest version of Illustrator.
im anable to move the object useing mouse
Yes! Removing Guidelines Works!
Same problem with me, adobe illustrator CC 2018, I managed to move the objects by doing expand appearance and it worked.
I am using version 22.1 as well and still the same problem. Really disappointed with this version of Ai, been using this software for more than a decade now and have never found it as cumbersome to use as these current versions in the last year or so. This is one of the most important software for many of us.
Removing guides from the object worked for me, thanks Chris F.!
I have up to date illustrator cc, have the same problem. I can't move the vector file I created and have a tight deadline. Please advice. Everything in my file can be replaced but the one I'll present...

I have had this issue before but I realized it is caused by guides within a grouped object. For some reason the new Illustrator treats guides as artwork in some ways, making the object "too big" and even effecting the listed size of the object.
All you need to do is clear the guides in the group and it fixes it but the way AI handles this should be fixed.

What I did was just created a separate file for the 'offending' illustration I was trying to resize and Placing it instead of trying to move it.

the sulution is :
1- go to the preferences
2- select selection & anchor point
3- remove the tick from the first one ( object sellection by bath only)

The update fixed it for me. Thx!
1. CC 22.1 is a worldwide release so should be available Australia. Please contact Adobe support if you had version CC 22.0.1 you should be seeing update button on your Adobe creative cloud application
2. This post was about the "Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large" that got introduced in CC 2018 (22.0). If you still have a file that was working well in CC 2017 but not in CC 2018 please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
