Rotate dialogue box is now painfully inefficient (CC2019)
Rotate and Scale functions used to work the same, where you could press R+Enter or S+Enter to bring up their respective dialogue boxes, type in a number, and hit Enter. Very fast, very efficient. Now when you call up the Rotate dialogue box, the focus is on this manual angle widget instead of the numeric field. And should you try to use Tab to change the focus to that field you have to hit it 5x.
This used to be extremely efficient, which was great since it's not uncommon to use this feature hundreds of times in a day. It meant that, regardless of where your cursor was, you could quickly and precisely make these changes - with either a known angle or your closest guess and then close in using arrow keys or Shift+arrow keys.
Now performing this same common task means I have three far less efficient options:
1) Always have my Transform palette open and poke a value in there each time (that means having to always click on a specific part of the UI for the second most common transform function).
2)Double-click the Rotate tool in the toolbar, then double-click the numeric field, then use the keyboard to enter/adjust my values (hunting down two specific things to click on in sequence before I can enter my angle value. Hooray!)
3)Hit R+Enter (keyboard), then double-click in the numeric field (mouse), then enter/adjust my angle value (keyboard). There's no way that can possibly sound efficient.
Been using Illustrator for over 20 years. Still love it. Use it almost every day. I'm really hoping this was just an oversight in this latest version. If there is a more efficient way to make these changes in CC2019, I'm all ears. If not, this change stinks.
We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 23.0.2

Details of your operating system and version of Adobe Illustrator (desktop):
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7. Adobe Illustrator 2020
The steps you were taking when you experienced the issues:
Suddenly after many times typing in numeric values into the angle field of the properties panel, it won't read it. I can still type numbers into other fields. Its not a keyboard issue etc. .
I have to restart Illustrator to fix the issue, and then it happens again after a while
The degrees input field does not automatically hightlight on tool double click.

This issue has returned in Illustrator CC 24.0. I'm with David. This is a function I use many times a day and it is very frustrating when it doesn't perform as expected. Thank you for your support.

Still not working in illustrator CC 2020. So annoying! Also the zoom out is really annoying – really slow and not centered to object.

I thought it was only me! really adobe, I think you will soon start loosing all your customers. I really can't believe 100 people vote for something, then you fix it, then all of a sudden you release a new version and the same issue is back.

Guess what the bug is back in the illustrator 2020! the input field is no longer highlighted when I hit enter whilst the rotate tool is selected.
Same issue back again. That's just careless and sloppy!
Verison 24.0, same issue as in 2019, again. Please fix!!!
Same issue in CC 2020 now.
After hitting R and Enter buttons I expect to be able to punch my rotation angle in the appropriate field (without highlighting it with a mouse or pressing Tab five times in a row).
Please fix. Thank you.

Why Adobe!?!?! Why would you do that AGAIN!?
Yes, the problem is back in 2020 (24.0)
The same problem is in illustrator 2020

This should never had happened and should have been fixed immediately.

So it this what subscription services are going to be like now?
Send software update, ***** up basic functions, get complaints, ignore, work on other programs leaving people with faulty software.... If this was a retail version this **** would have HAD to be fixed by now.
Adobe, you are getting paid monthly to keep these programs in working order. If this issue is not resolved by the end of the month then you should cut the cost of your subscriptions until it is fixed.
Look at the date this was first raised Oct 20, 2018. that's 3 Months.
Started fixing it Jan 14, 2019 That's 10 days. how about updating people as to WHEN this issue might be resolved.... People have waited long enough
