'This file has been modified outside Illustrator' message when saving into a cloud managed folder or onto a network drive

This needs to be handled. I recently moved all my files to OneDrive so I could work with my entire team... not just designers. Many organizations use OneDrive. We're not a creative agency so seeing these messages is not going to force us to "give in" and use Creative Cloud storage. It's not the same thing. So please fix this. Put in an exception for OneDrive so we can save our files without this message. It's really really poor form to allow this to be a pain point for your paying customers for so long.
Fix it.

Yes, this still seems to be an issue for folders that are backed up to a web service (Google File Stream here.) I don't see it for files that are saved elsewhere.

Still there, connected to OneDrive. Common Adobe, it's just a checkbox.

Same problem. Just updated to 24.2.3 and then it started happening. Running Catalina which I think was a mistake to update to. Not using OneDrive. Seems like every week there is an Adobe update. Illustrator crashing way more than it ever has. Disappointed in Adobe.

Also happening on MacBook Pro 2019. Illustrator 24.2.3. Catalina 10.15.6. OneDrive. Agree with Anonymous of May 6 - should at least have an option to option decide if you want Illustrator to ask you about it or not. Come on Adobe, please sort this out.

Solution on my Mac-System: I was working on the file which was on Google Clouds Stream. Now i saved the .ai on my local drive. Now, when I'm saving the file I don't get this notification anymore...

+1 from me for this problem.
But it's a new problem I've never seen before.
I've only just started seeing it after upgrading to a new Mac. My OS is completely up-to-date (Catalina 10.15.6 and I'm running the latest Illustrator CC 24.2.1.
The only thing that has changed from my old system where I wasn't seeing this is that I'm using Google's GSuite Google File stream app.
I used to use their Backup and Sync app but decided to switch during my upgrade because I was so tired of Backup & Sync crashing all the time.
Judging by the fact that most people on this thread seem to be experiencing problems with OneDrive, I suspect there's something about the way the OS handles the sync with the file servers that's causing this problem.

It's still here with OneDrive – every time I save. No other software does this

Just like the title says. This is a really annoying problem. It happens every time when I save to Onedrive or when I use Illustrator files from the Google Drive File Stream. This is a long term problem for me and many others. Even tough people mark their problem as solved, it isn't.

I cant believe such a large company still has all these bugs, good god, error messages after error messages, files not being saved properly, countless errors and formats that cant be opened messages. What in the world am I paying for, I feel like I am rolling the dice with each saved document, totally disrupting my business. And on the forum all we get is some person saying to update, when of course that's what we all did and keeps posting the same thing avoiding any real answer, come on Adobe!

I still regularly have this problem when I know no-one is working on my files. Running OS10.15.5 on updated Illustrator CC, saving to MS OneDrive.
