Pressure option for brush is greyed out in AI while using Wacom Tablet
Adobe Illustrator CC 22.0.0
Ever since the new update, every time I'm trying to change my paintbrush to pressure sensitive option from the drop down list box, the 'pressure ' option is greyed out and can't be selected. 'Fixed' and 'random' are the only ones that aren't greyed out.
How can I set the pressure senstivity option on?
Please help.

Thank you Tenaciousgames! I did the privacy thing and it worked, I did Karolina's comment first but it didn't work, so this did work!

I read that I could change the pressure to use my brush in a more authentic way to draw varied lines but the pressure options in my brush tool is greyed out. It only allows me to use the fixed and random options

I'm experiencing the same issue. I've tried the suggestions below and went through Wacom's entire troubleshooting list, and I just got off the phone with Wacom support and went through that whole procedure with them. This appears to be an Adobe Illustrator issue (and I have pressure recognition in Photoshop). I'm running Illustrator 24.0.1 on OS 10.14.6. Tablet is an Intuos 4 (PTK-640) with the current driver, 6.3.38-2.

This answer is for Marcia Blanco. . . . works on the Mac
I modified things through experimentation. These are the setting that work for me. They are permissions in the system preferences. I ended up not using the scratch disk solution, because sometimes it worked, sometimes not:
1. Install the most recent Wacom driver
1. Go to system Preferences
2. Security and Privacy
3. Accessibility/unlock and check your Intuous tablet (not HuionTablet–that's mine), Tablet Driver Agent.app, and Wacom Tablet Driver.app as per the screenshot. Make sure to click the radio box
4. Click the lock to lock
5. This should fix it. Good luck!Tom

I have tried all of the above suggestions, but the options for brush pressure are still greyed out. I have an imac running Mojave and using an Intuous Pro PTH-660 tablet pen. I've tossed Ai and Wacom preferences; reinstalled Wacom drivers; completed Karolina's suggestions as well as several others and I'm running out of ideas.
What's odd is this: the computer is a lab computer and the tricks listed above worked great for the Admin profile. However, nothing is working for the student profile where this issue started. I'm sure that I'm missing something, probably obvious. Any suggestions? -

Thanks to Karolina for figuring this out–what a relief! I followed her directions below, and it worked perfectly! I didn't try Tenacious Game's fix, but that looks like it may work too.

I actually easily resolved this by going Illustrator menu>Preferences>Plug-ins & Scratch Discs then clicking a check mark ok “additional Plug-ins folder” and choosing a Wacom tablet folder/file. -

Tenacious Game's comment worked for me.
Here's the translation:
For mac users:
Follow the steps Karolina mentions, if this is not enough to solve the problem, then I explain what you should do additionally from System Preferences.
System Preferences> Security and Privacy> Privacy> Accessibility (Click on the lock to make changes by entering your administrator password) and select the sign `` + '' to add an application> Search and select Illustrator in the folder `` Applications '' of your computer. Once added, restart Illustrator. You should now be able to have the pressure option for brushes enabled.
I hope it works

Espero funcione

Karolina’s comment worked for me as well, although I did have to restart both Illustrator AND my tablet’s software before it came back and I’ve had to do this more than once since.
