Moving objects - error message "can't move the object"
I'm working with vectors and type. Since the update to CC2018, at random moments and in multiple files, I'll select a vector object and select some text, then try to move them, and I'll receive the error message "Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large". The problem is going to force me to revert back to the 2017 version of Illustrator - please make sure this is fixed ASAP. See attached screen grab.
We have tried to fix the issue in the current release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.
Please refer to our knowledge base FAQ – https://illustrator.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1844590 if you face difficulty in the update.
Warm Regards,

PS: We are only referring to the issue that got introduced in CC 2018. As I can see there were few workflows that were existing even in older releases. Please log a separate request for it so that we all can track it better

Can confirm - Show and delete your guides. I cleared all of mine, but use your discretion if you have several.

I have found that the problem is caused by guides. The only solution I've found is to place and resize guides before moving them.
BUT
untill the CC 2018 release moving guides wasn't an issue. Now it is. How it's this possible?

As mentioned before, problem seems to be related to Guides.

Trying to make some changes to a logo and can't move anything. I've read through other's posting and tried to delete the guides. Didn't work.
I also tried creating a new file and make a simple black box. Can't move it.
Anyone have a solution??? Adobe, please feel free to chime in at any time.

I am having the same problem and these are not elaborate files, just a few outlined shapes.

Workaround:
You can resize and move images by selecting the object and manually changing the numbers on XY axis and HW. (: X: Y: W: H: ). (Or clicking the down/up arrows with shift selected is fast as well)
Using the cursor/mouse will not work.
This got me through a project where I had a large image I was dealing with. -

It's just a guide, it's hidden. Show them and delete! problem solved :)

It's a guide issue. Release the guides and erase them if you want.

Any idea on why this is and what to do?
I just updated to CC2018 and the file I was working in gives this message too.
Nothing changed, I just want to move it.
Last time there was no problem (in the CC2015 version) now it's impossible.Anyone???

When I try to rearrange artboards sometimes the artwork is not moved with the dartboards (even though option is ticked). But more annoyingly I get told that they cannot move the dartboards as some data would fall off, this is incorrect

I too have been experiencing the "Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large". Beyond frustrating. I've been using Illustrator for nearly 20 years, never experienced this. Since the recent update I'm unable to perform simple functions. The SWOD is coming up a lot as well, since updating. Any help would be appreciated.

It's also happening here, since the upgrade.

In my case there were some masked bitmap images that were overlapping from one artboard to another.
Because they were masked I couldn't be aware of the overlapping. The warning message was not of much help.
The solution I found was to create a bigger artboard and cut and paste the content there.
Then I re-positioned the existing arboards so the objects in it never overlap. -

Since updating to Illustrator CC2018, when trying to move or scale certain objects/groups, I keep getting the error message, "Can't move objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large."
Restarting Illustrator seems to help for a short stint, but I inevitably get the same error message when working on the file for any extended period of time. ...It's driving me crazy!
