Gaussian Blur does not scale. Frustrating
Gaussian Blur does not scale when I scale an object with the effect applied.
'Scale Strokes & Effects' is turned On.
Really frustrated because it's such a simple thing to recalculate it. Fix asap!

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.2.3 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

commentedI created an image that uses the gaussian blur effect in a 300ppi document and had no problemas. Now copied this image and placed on a 72ppi document. When pasting I have no problems, the gaussian effect occours correctly, but when moving the image something happens to the effect and the image changes. First a I found that when copying (hold ALT and move) the blur mantains its appearance, but that is not a solution.
Afterwards I discover that when the raster effect is at 300ppi this doesn't happen. When I change the raster effect to 300, it works fine. Don't know if I'm being stupid or if it is a problem.

commentedHi, This is still not working and I've updated to the latest version. Not sure why it keeps happening, it used to work fine on older versions. Thanks

commented@Bryan I see, I just think it's a really bad UX having to deal with two different dialogs to add a simple blur, the ideal would be add the extra settings to the Gaussian Blur dialog, so you can adjust everything on the fly. New idea from comment
This comment was upgraded into a new idea: Add Resolution value into the Gaussian Blur effect dialog

"I believe that the resizing is fixed but now high blur values cause the blur to look boxed in the edges, look the attached video."For High blur values, you'll need to adjust Effects > Document Raster Effects Settings

commentedHi Ankit I believe that the resizing is fixed but now high blur values cause the blur to look boxed in the edges, look the attached video.

 commentedINTERIM SOLUTION:
The only way I've found to beat this very difficult limitation in AI is to (1) always scale objects that have Gaussian Blur in them NUMERICALLY (with the scale dialog), and after scaling, (2) additionally multiply the Gaussian Blur value times the former object enlargement.EXAMPLE: (1) You have an object that contains an element with Gaussian Blur applied. (2) Use the SCALE DIALOG to enlarge/reduce the entire object, remembering the exact scale amount. (3) Select ONLY the portion of the object containing the Gaussian Blur effect. (4) MULTIPLY only the Gaussian Blur VALUE by the exact amount of the original object enlargement/reduction. Voila. Perfect. -- In this way, we get the job done, and "do Adobe's coding work" FOR them, one object at a time.

commentedPls fix this. my work has struck in the middle cause of this bug. i cant do the scale manually for the entire separate gaussian blurred objects cause i have so so many of them.

commentedThis bug really need to be fixed, it's there for years. Every time you scale a artwork that has multiple parts using the gaussian blur, you have to manually edit one by one.

commentedhello friends, as per my research on this issue, i have got TWO solution that, 1) USE UR ARTWORK TO PLACE ON NEW PAGE.
2). Use Feather effect instead of Blur Effect. (RECOMMANDED)it can be helpful but i am not as sure as an EXPERT. so we can try middle way to get rid of this issue.

commentedYes, I agree: expand effect appearance is not worth much, since this is a vector app. Not being a coder, yet fond of logic structures, I suspect there is some kind basic structural alteration needed in order to allow the scaling of effects work as stated (and needed) in regular size dialogs. From my POV, this would definitely be worth the effort!
-
Ton commented Yes, it is not a very good workaround, once you expand the appearance, it makes the result fixed into an image.
