Save now takes longer in updated 2020 version
When I save, even a blank document, it takes Illustrator a lot longer than the previous version to save.

I suppose they are saving our document on cloud without us knowing. It saves depending on your network connection- Does that mean if I turn off the wifi it will save OK - have you tried that?

Please fix this issue. Waiting for a document to save that used to only take seconds is unacceptable.

Dear Adobe - We are all paying you and you are silent, at least tell us you are still working on it.

24.2 -- no better. "Save In Background" on or off, still slow. Windows 10/64-Pro, Quadro 5000, 128 GB RAM (not a typo), 2 SSDs and a video RAID. Slow, slow, slow. Even slow to close a file.
Used to be it was Bell Telephone that said "We don't care, because we don't have to." Now it's Adobe. -

FIX!!! --- Disable “Compatible PDF file” on Save dialogue box and it should save almost instantly.

Amazing a company like Adobe would release sloppy versions of Illustrator without taking care of the basics. This is a problem I have been experiencing for a few months. Please fix.

PLEASEEEEEEEE look into this - it is so painful. It's impossible to work with. Its taking almost 10 mins for me to save one file...IF it actually saves it without crashing first!

I am having the same problem, and it makes it almost impossible to use Illustrator.
I use a MacBook Pro and a lot of the time it ends up being non responsive and I have to restart. It is a pain! -

It's is not just an Illustrator and Mac issue. I am having the same issues with Illustrator (Adobe in general) and I'm a Windows user. I've been having issues with performance using Illustrator, slow safe, glitching, running slow, crashing, etc. I've tried it on several different system and the issues are the same. My current computer is a HP Z840 Workstation with dual Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4 processors.

It must be a combo of Illustrator and macOS Catalina. I am running Illustrator 24.1.2 but still run macOS Mojave 10.14.6 on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) 4.2 GHz Intel Core i7 64 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 Radeon Pro 580 8 GB and have no issues what so ever.

The clue in the engineer's comment above is key. "We have TRIED to address this issue...." I went down a version because it couldn't possibly be worse. It's the same. SO WHY RELEASE IF YOU HAVEN'T FIXED IT?
Bought Quark today because InDesign is ****. At least there I have a choice. Come on Adobe. Work with Apple. F I X T H I S. It's torture. -

Once again. 96 mb of RAM. Crazy great video card. New MacPro and my old 16bit iMAC saves faster. Are you even working on this?
