When I create a document with 3 or more artboards it numbers the 3rd artboard as number 4, but it also numbers the 4th artboard as 4, so when exported to JPGs it doesn't save the 3rd one.

Reset illustrator preferences. Here is the navigation: Illustrator > Preferences > General > Reset Preferences. Press and hold Option+Command+Shift as you start Illustrator. There we go!

Here is what I see

I am working with a large number of artboards in a single file. 61 to be exact. The software has named artboard 52 twice. Two different artboards. 51 is missing.

I have tried to upload an image in jpg and gif and your system is rejecting it.

I downloaded the latest update for illustrator and there is still an artboard error in numbering. I was hoping it wouldn't have been a problem till I exported each artboard as a PNG and I was missing art. Trying to create 60 artboards. If I copy and paste artboards I still have the same issue starting at artboard 23 then 25 then...

When adding additional artboards to a document, artboard #43 becomes #44 (you'll end up with two #44), and Illustrator skips #46 (go from #45 to #47).

Same issue. Not just visual. Prevents actual exporting.

Occasionally have the same issue, rebooting Illustrator will restore the artboards to the correct sequence.

Artboards' numbers incorrect 1, 2, 3, 5, 5, 6...
4 It's unlucky number? :) Fix it, please. On export 4th workspace is overridden.

I am still having this issue, too, except it skips one of the duplicated artboards when exporting!

Strange but I still have this issue even in 25.1
