Overwriting PDF-Files does not work anymore with build 24.0.2 ! Till 24.0.1 it works. Pleas fix this. Current Update is a desaster.
Hi All,
We have fixed this issue in 24.0.3 version of Illustrator (MAC only issue). Please update to 24.0.3 if you are encountering this issue. For all the other issues which you are encountering regarding the update or the new document dialog or any other please create another User Voice thread for that issue so that we can track it there itself.
Thanks & Regards,
Illustrator Team

I saved a screen version pdf and then spent the next hour trying to work out why overwriting that file with an X4A was showing low-res images. Answer: It didn't overwrite. urgent fix required. I'm having to manually delete files before saving.

Same here... our studio almost sent an older-wrong version of a 120 page product catalogue for a 1000 copies print...
Such disastrous update can cost several thousands of euros to a design studio...

Same here. Only happening since the 24.02 update, using Mojave too, so not a Catalina problem.
Proving a huge problem here - cannot rely on sending clients up to date work for approval.
We have to delete the initial PDF, then resave it in place.

Catalina 10.15.2 and Illustrator 24.0.2
Opening existing file and making changes then using "SAVE" to overwrite the file. Not saving any changes at all. In fact, after closing, the file shows no modifications since March 2019. Also, saved a pdf file from Illustrator, made simple change then hit "SAVE" again. Saving files to a folder on my Desktop as well as across a network. It happens (or neglects to happen, so to speak) regardless. -

Having same issue with 'saving as' pdf from Illustrator - dialogue box asks if I want to replace the previously saved pdf of the same file, so it recognises the replacement action, but when I have completed action, the old pdf is still there and has not been overwritten. I am currently 'saving as' to desktop then dragging and dropping that pdf into folder where old pdf is located to replace the previous pdf file.

Same here. I'm on MacOS Catalina (10.15.2). I have to save as with a new file name and then delete the previous version and go back to the original file name. So exhausting.
