Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the requested operation.
I applied a pattern to a stroke by accident and received this error. I'm using v25.0.1 on a PC with 16 gb RAM and a dedicated graphics card.

@Juan @Anonymous : Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels - https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here. This post is about a specefic case that impacted few users where they saw a message leading to crash.
@Tim: please report the InDesign issue on indesign.uservoice.com

Still crashing daily! Losing precious work which needs to be remade! The Recovery did nothing... Every year there is some kind of big bug, last year it was the GPU Preview bug, now this...
Only the fact that Illustrator is simply the most comprehensive app for vectors, keeps me with Adobe.

The 23.0.1 version su windows 7 Pro
- Deleting layers in illustrator now causes it to go into wireframe mode and there have been quite a few times where I will delete a layer and it looks like the graphics are still there even though I just deleted them.
- If I move a layer, or an object on another level, I often close illustrator.
- As soon as the software is launched, no keyboard commands work, as long as you do not give them to the drop-down menu. -

Ashutosh,
The 23.0.1 version with the hotkey fix no longer works for us. If I start to work too fast in Ai things start to slow down in it like opening and saving files. Also when I go to save files it will randomly crash and take forever to reopen. Sometimes refusing to reopen. Deleting layers in illustrator now causes it to go into wireframe mode and there have been quite a few times where I will delete a layer and it looks like the graphics are still there even though I just deleted them. This "graphic ghosting" happens often. Biggest complaint is the crashing and slow processing that it is now doing. All account users on my work computer are experiencing the same issues.

I believe it's because now you have more goodies to sell and I used to be able to have Photoshop and illustrator opened at same time and quite fast with just 8gbs of ram thank God I used the trial :)

Adobe admins have declared all issues fixed with release 23.0.1 but it's absolutely NOT true. Very frustrating to deal with hapless customer service (which takes time), pay the monthly fee for this product, and not be able to use it for days or weeks. I usually try not to vent in online forums but this is beyond my patience.

i'm working since 26th October with 23.0.1 beta version (and updated recently with official release).
With small files no problem but today with a larger one (about 100Mb) the saving is very slow... (i try also deselecting 'PDF compatible file').
No crashes or freezing but maybe there's something more to be adjusted?ps. i have to poitn out that something wrong happening with this operations:
- using the reflect tool (rotating a bitmap image) and clicking the center of rotation... (remains attached to the cursor and nothing respond for about 2 mins);
- drag an element from the Library (created with previous versions) doesn't works until i make a new layer;
- move a text from the anchor with Direct selection... sometimes is moving only the anchor and not the text;

I've been having the same issue since updating to v 23.0

With this latest version, when I flip a bitmap image using the reflect tool, the bounding box is messed up, showing a selection elongated, way off the page.

I'm facing similar problem: Can't finish previewing. Running on Win10. Used to edit the work as PDF file with no problems. After upgrading to 23.1 the things seem to go wrong and the picture is displayed in outline mode. The levels seem to be there but nothing in those. I managed to "convert" the PDF file into AI file but all the levels were lost.

I ams still having exactly the same issues as above, even though I have updated to the latest release.
Random colours seem to be added to linear gradients, and it wont let me "command z" to undo this, then goes into preview mode saying cannot finish previewing... then crashes. -

I'm still finding this problem. Even starting a new document I get "There is not enough memory available to process the appearance of an object." warning. After clicking okay, the application is left stuck and requires forced quitting.

Still have the issue of Illustrator randomly just quitting without any warning. I’m usually doing something complex — changing text styles in a document with a lot of text and points, like a complicated map. It happens so fast that it takes sometimes about five minutes for the Adobe crash reporter to show up. The Mac OS reporter shows right up though. Always seems to be EXEC KERN issues so I’m wondering if it’s a memory leak or something.

I did the update and it worked for a little while. However Illustrator has now started with the same error message and crashes constantly. Sometimes it doesn't give me a error message but the whole program is locked, (gray out menus and won't let me select anything).

I have the update for 23.0.1 and while I'm not getting any specific error messages, it's crashing *multiple* times a day now. Running Mojave 10.14.1 here as well.

I've updated to Illustrator 2019 and to Mojave and I'm getting these issues constantly. Opening a very simple AI file (even one that is just a square black box), causes the App to ghost completely and become unworkable.
It simply cannot be used right now!
2018 version had no issues at all.
