"Apply to All" checkbox or "Replace All" button are missing AGAIN
Apply to All option for missing/replacing links is missing again in version 28.5. Now instead of being able to click that and replace all links I know have to do the relink step up to 30 times every print file.
I have no words, but this solution is missing again form both the latest Beta and the GA. There is no new information on it. As soon as anything gets known — the status will be updated again. I am so sorry.

Looks fine to me.

That looks like it would work. Thanks.

Adam, this one is a pretty recent change... They had the option at some point, but then dropped, because were not aware of the 'replace with one image' trick we started to use it for. The problem with the actual mass relinking to existing links was an old one, true, but this particular report is not about it.
And it IS going to be redeemed, as I am aware, soon enough. Fingers crossed.

complaint for over a decade. They keep saying they’re gonna do something about it but we keep waiting. I wouldn’t hold your breath about this actually getting fixed anytime soon.

We've been posting complaints about this specific issue for MONTHS now, and Adobe has yet to address it. It is likely that they have no intention of restoring this functionality, because like everything Adobe, "we know best what our users want, we don't care what the users actually say they want."

Will the apply all or replace all checkboxes be restored in the next update? When can we expect this to be released?

Please restore the "APPLY ALL" or "REPLACE ALL" checkbox. This is a very important feature, especially for us packaging graphic designers who have to do assembly. For example, there are 30 boxes in an assembly and it is necessary to replace them with another box of the same size. We could do this with a single click using the "CHANGE ALL or APPLY ALL" command. What is Adobe's purpose in removing this command? Are we causing trouble for Adobe users? Is it to provide convenience to companies selling assembly programs?

Esto atrasa!!! y nos hace perder mucho tiempo. como puede ser que no lo solucionen??

Please restore the "Apply to All" check box. The functionality it provides is unlike anything that exists with the current version of Illustrator. Many times a day I need to replace duplicated images (sometimes 200 times per artboard) with a DIFFERENT named file. It was one click using the "Apply to All" but without it, I am forced to click 200+ times each time! Please bring back the "Apply to All" check box. All of us in the printing industry (and may others) will thank you for it.

Yes, but it has changed a couple of times, but yes, I just tested 27.0 (AI 2023) and that found missing links in the same folder.

Ton,
but there used to be something similar before this version, right? I've always been able to replace the missing links automatically in the past, as long as they were in the same folder. ^_^

Ton commented
Stéphanie, that is probably because it is unchecked by default.

Thanks so much Ton.
I have no idea how this box became unchecked! -

Stéphanie, that is a different problem, which version do you have? Relative links are a new feature in 28.5.

Just to make things clear, "Apply to All" or "Replace All" won't suffice.
I don't want to replace all links with the same file, I need Illustrator to find all the various linked files that I put in the Links folder.
I work on a Mac but everybody else in the company works on Windows (with a Sharepoint Cloud) and every time I reopen documents, I need to re-link all the backgrounds.

This feature needs to be fixed. Whoever made this intentional decision clearly doesn't understand this function in a practical work setting. We are not seeking to relink "missing" files. We are replacing with new files intentionally. Not restoring this function is choosing to sabotage the work of Illustrator users who have relied upon this function for seamless workflow.
