1. Cannot double click to open an AI document, or open a smart object from Photoshop

   If Illustrator is closed, I can double-click on a file name, or a smart object in photoshop, and the file will open in Illustrator. If Illustrator is open this is not possible. My workaround has been to open the file from within Illustrator (tedious, but doable). However, there is no workaround to open a photoshop smart object. So I literally have to close Illustrator each and every time I want to open and edit a smart object. At first I thought this had to do with having objects on the clipboard, but even after clearing the clipboard this is still an issue. This ongoing glitch is hampering my productivity in a very big way.

2. Choosing Fit On Screen option from the dropdown in the status bar pans to next mouse click position

   When I click fit on screen in the screen size (I don't know the actual name of the option thing) option it fits to the screen THEN will move to where the mouse is clicked next, just like the zoom tool. This is decreasing efficiency of the app for me.

   New Update 23.0.3 Causes Failure to Preview and Art Boards Save Erroneously in PDF- when saving out files they will error. The saved file will display and print a black gradient space in lieu of the art board and (seemingly random) graphics will be omitted. This is replicated when saving as a new AI or PDF or Printed from the saved file. The original AI file shows it prints normally but the print out is also erroneous.

4. Touch Workspace Inconsistent

   I have a Dell XPS 15 9570; it's more laptop than tablet, but it does have some touchscreen functionality.

   When I first launched Illustrator on this device, I had the option to use touch mode, which was awesome.

   For some reason though, it is no longer accessible. I've checked the workspaces menu, window>wirkspaces, etc. Nothing. There's not external keyboard connected (the laptop has a built in keyboard), I've restarted illustrator, I've tried different document types, I've switched my OS between tablet mode and laptop mode... nothing.

   I'd really like to be able to use this mode again. Any advice?

5. artboard

   I am having issues with the alignment of the image on the artboard. It seems the rectangle I used to cover the artboard isn't lining up. I am not sure if this is a problem or I simply don't know how to fix it

   The artwork has a small black dot on the right side, far away from the artboard. Watch closely at the right side of your 11×17.jpg image to notice it.
   And export options were probably without ‘Use artboards’ tick.

   P.S. Please always provide the file you have problems with!

6. Video Rulers not correct (and useless ;-)

   While I don't really need the Video Rulers , they do not seem to work well. (Rulers are a quite skeuomorphic tool anyway, since with Ai we can place everything numerically)

   The horizontal axis does not reflect the horizontal pixelnumbers, illustrated in the screenshot, where a 1920 wide artboard is shown to have 1440 pixels in the width by the ruler. Maybe due to some non square pixel setting. Confusing and unneeded?

7. .AI an d XD files not opened by default on Windows 10

   Ashutosh Chaturvedi, sorry but one of your issues is not totally fixed, you have many users who are waiting for an answer for the .ai an wd files wich are supposed to by opened by default by thèse two softwares by double-clicking. This issue is not fixed on Windows 10. Thank you for your time and you answer ASAP.

   Before you do that are you manually able to change file association of .ai file to another application say Notepad.exe ? There is another issue with file association going around.    When i open a art file the screen is black and the art work is locked?!

9. Illustrator issues, SVG only?

   When using CC (updated to v. 23), illustrations appear distorted when rendered with stylesheet. During troubleshooting, I open a colleague's SVG illustration in CS6 as well as CC v.23 and compare. See attachments. CC distorts both content size and artboard size. We never had this issue with CS.

11. Currently selected artboard not automatically highlighted as per normal

    Running Mac 10.13.6 and AI 22.1

    In all previous versions of Illustrator the artboard you are currently on remains highlighted so you know which on you are on.

    In this version, the artboard is only highlighted while working in it. If I click into a menu item (say 'Object') then the highlighted artboard disappears and I no longer know which one I am on. Clicking on the blank artboard, which usually highlights that clicked on artboard, doesn't work. The only work around is to click onto another artboard and then back to the first. I've had this issue maybe 6 times in the last few days but I don't know how to always reproduce it.

    Please confirm if this bug does not longer happens in the latest versions of Illustrator.

12. Artboard size doesn’t match the rectangle size

    Artboard and this rectangle are supposedly the same size but they do not match at all. I am trying to create A1 file sizes for print and they are incorrect because of this bug or whatever it is. This is messing with my files and I am so tired of things not working for print because they aren't the correct size.

13. Illustrator Saving Error with 2 art boards

    We were building a billboard with extension. Art saved fine with only one artboard. We created a second artboard for the extension, then saved the file. Illustrator error states: the Dimensions of this page are out of range. Total size of both art boards 16.4611 in High x 49.9167 w. Got to have this fixed new Illustrator was updated yesterday.

15. Artboard Custom Resize Bug

    Illustrator V22.0.1
    2 problems

    1. When manually updating artboard dimensions, the artboard itself no longer previews your changes, you have to click "Update while dragging" to see the size before closing the window.

    2. Artboard dimensions sometimes automatically revert back to previous values, if the new values are close in number. For example changing 423mm to 420mm, the value in the box would revert back to 423mm immediately.

    No specific files, this happens in general.

16. Zero X and Y coordinates don’t match the artboard

    when making a file exact art size. Trying to snap to my
    X=0
    Y=0

    the Transform pallet says i'm at 0 & 0 but clearly i am not and once i click off everything then re-select everything again i can make it 0&0. I am in a pre-press production setting and this slows down my whole process. Also the Align to Artboard selection is a huge problem.

17. Empty artboard name which changes itself when artboard is resized

    I have a simple template for business card, made long ago, with a single artboard inside.
    Today I created new document based on this template and AI22 has shown this single artboard with no name (which was never touched in template and always was default 'Artboard 1'). It displays as 'Artboard 1' in Artboards paleette, but tag is missing.
    Next, when I add height to this artboard in Control panel, it got renamed to 'Artboard 2', both in tag and palette.
    If I undo this and make change again, it got 'Artboard 3' and so on.
    I expect this artboard to have a default 'Artboard 1' name and not changing it after resizing. AI21 does it all right.

18. Incorrect file sizes

    Importing work into After Effects adds 6 pixels to the file size — very generous. This software keeps on giving.

20. It just crashed

    It just crashed.
