The most recent version finally has the Object > Distribute menu added.
Now both Align and Distribute commands can be accessed via menu and have assigned keyboards shortcuts to them.
The order of the commands though seemingly matches the one the panel has: horizontal first for Align and vertical first for Distribute. Also, Align To and Distribute Spacing commands are still missing in top menus, so please keep voting here to make them added too.

An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment David Andreu commentedI agree with this wholeheartedly, this has a dramatic effect on my workflow - creating and setting a clipping mask is a wonderfully simple way to prep assets for near-instant export.
i.e. Create a square with the dimensions I want > align over my artwork > mask > Export only what isn't masked > (optional) release mask and continue working.
Beautifully simple.
But that no longer works. The only simple work-around I've read about involves cropping my content or leveraging artboards, both woefully inadequate and inappropriate solutions as this easily multiplies by 10 the amount of time it takes to achieve the same result. Also, cropping is a "permanent" alteration, unlike temporary clipping masks that can easily be "released" - crops cannot.
Please fix this ASAP, I can work around the other issues/bugs I'm experiencing but this one is a monumental annoyance.

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

You can now select multiple layers in Layers panel. Click the bars (they get highlighted blue) if you want to operate layers and not their content (e.g. to drag to reorder) or click their markers to select their content — circle (target ones) or square (selection ones) next to them. There is no real difference which to pick, but if you want to select a range of layers, using Shift, use target markers.

Broadly speaking, the whole point of graphic software is to CREATE and EXPORT your graphics. Everything your team builds should be in service of those two fundamental objectives.
Am I missing something here? How is this not fixed yet? Have we any updates from Adobe? I've been reading some threads where this has been discussed for over a year? This is ridiculous. Adobe, please, for the respect of your talented, intelligent and paying customers - please fix this. Affix a real deadline, don't just say "soon". A real date - a real deliverable.
See thread below posted by @Chris Johnston - this is beyond absurd. I get more frequent updates from video game companies than I do from my 600$+/year professional software supplier.
This isn't a game to us, we need this to work efficiently. Pro tools require pro service.
