1. Export for Screens - Please add EMF as an option

   I have hundreds of EPS icon files I need to convert for use in PowerPoint which means they need to be in EMF, EMZ or WMF format. The Asset Export tool is amazing and would be perfect for this task, but unfortunately EMF is not an export option. Thanks!

2. Provide SVG output scaling option (with 96 ppi default)

   When using Save As... SVG, Illustrator sets the bounding box pixel dimensions in the SVG header using 72 pixels per inch. So a 10" x 10" artboard will produce an SVG file with its pixel dimensions set to 720px x 720px. This is a very old-fashioned default scaling, since every other modern application I have encountered displays imported SVGs using 96 dpi . This means each SVG produced by Illustrator appears to shrink when imported into almost any other modern application. Please either:
   a) Change Illustrator's default scaling calculation to use 96 dpi.
   b) Provide an option/switch in the SVG Options window to allow selection of the scaling method - with the default set to 96!

3. Please add automated color bar, separation color information - Print PDF output

   Hi! I am missing a choice in PDF save or export. In the print industry is needed to add colour information for the customer, what colours is the artwork made from - esp. when we use solid colours. Customers need this for the approval process so we have to add this colour-bar manually. In the PDF (composite PDF) window there are Marks and Bleed choices, but there is missing a choice to choose a colour information automatically generated from the document colours - separations. The colour information can be graphical (squares with separation names) or text based (separation name in that colour).

5. Freeform gradient doesn't work with Recolor Artwork

   There is no way to recolor the gradient points in the Freeform Gradient in Color Guide → Recolor Artwork. This is very problematic when you try to apply a color group to the gradient. It works very well with regular gradients, but not with freeform gradients. I think this needs an update or else it will be very time consuming to edit all the colors of a freeform gradient.

   Recolor now can be used for Freeform gradients correctly, allowing access to all colors used in it.

6. Crop Image to Artboard Option

   When creating multiple graphics with high-quality images, it would be great if there was an option to select when cropping an image that automatically cropped the image to the size of the artboard.

7. Contextual Eyedropper Tool

   Currently, the Eyedropper Tool is an underutilized and often counter-intuitive tool that needlessly increases the complexity of a workflow because of its limitations. This- combined with Illustrator's poor color tools- often adds unnecessary time and effort to what should and could be more simplified tasks.

   For example, a common situation is that I have a shape with a fill color that I like, and I want another shape that has a stroke to also use that color, except only for the stroke. Currently, if I use the eyedropper tool on the filled shape, it will completely remove the stroke and add a fill, although the desired result is neither action. The workaround, of course, is to create a new swatch of that color, then make sure the stroke is selected, and then apply the swatch color to that stroke (as the other color tools are essentially useless for matching colors, given no live preview).

   This, of course, can get incredibly tedious when dealing with lots of colors and lots of fills and strokes, and it is not always desirable (nor, I would argue, should it be necessary) to always create swatches for working with colors.

   This situation is of course not limited to shapes. Often I will have text that I want to have a stroke with particular cap conditions, but want the color from another stroke. However, the current process of using the eyedropper tool strips the formatting of the stroke (or whatever properties) and takes on the properties of the selected object, even though all that was wanted was the color.

   A more elegant solution would be to make the eyedropper tool contextual, so that specific properties of the sampled object could applied without completely changing the selected object’s properties to conform entirely to the sampled object.

   I would suggest the following that the eyedropper tool be modified to work contextually much like the Pen Tool works contextually.

   The default state of the Eyedropper Tool would work as it currently does. However, there would then be different options that could be cycled through in the Eyedropper Tool, analogous to how there is the Pen Tool, the Add Vertex Tool, Subtract, Convert, etc.

   In this usage, holding a modifier key or choosing a different function of the eyedropper tool would allow one to decide which aspects of the sampled object to apply to the selected object.

   For example, if I have a circle with a red stroke and a box with a blue fill, and I want the circle to have the stroke be the same color as the box’s blue fill, I could hold Alt/Opt (as an example) to switch to the Color Sample Tool which would then sample only the color of the sampled object and apply it to either:

   1. Whichever property is currently active (e.g., Fill or Stroke)
   2. If the object has ONLY a Fill or ONLY a Stroke, it would automatically default to applying it to whichever is already extant.

   This could be extended to sample the color of the pixel sampled, or the entirety of the fill or stroke (e.g., for gradients, styles, etc.)

   Another option (perhaps by holding Alt+Cmd/Ctrl) would be the Stroke Style Sample Tool, which would sample the style of sampled object’s Stroke. This could even be given some further options (perhaps accessed by up or down arrows) to select only weight, weight and Caps style, Weight, Caps Style and Color, etc., all delineated by changes in the icon state.

   I think that a contextual Eyedropper Tool would be a more elegant way of handling color and style sampling in Illustrator and eliminate the current workarounds necessary for an efficient workflow.

   The solution to that would be to activate a stroke if you want to apply a color to it, then to hold Shift when clicking a color — does not matter where this color is on a stroke or a fill. Illustrator then applies the picked color to the active fill/stroke, ignoring the source nature. There are two things to know — the cursor does not inform you about this mode (unlike the Alt-mode, should be addressed), and if you pick a color from a swatch — you’d get a screen representation of the color... harmless for RGB documents (if your color settings are in order), but crucial for CMYK documents (should be addressed too). Pleas comment back.

8. Add pattern filled object to swatch box to create a new pattern

   This is very essential for the fashion industry.

   As of now, it's not possible to create a seamless pattern with a pattern filled object and add it as a swatch.

   We either have to expand the filled object or rasterize the pattern filled object to able to add to the swatch box. It's hindering because we can't recolor easily.
   This option should be added.

9. Larger Stroke/Fill selector in Swatch panel

   It is extremely difficult to choose the between the Fill and Stroke selector in the Swatch panel., especially on Retina displays. Please give us the option to make it larger, as seen in my attachment.

10. More Detail in Font Find/Replace - Include Details to Assist Tracking Down Correct Font

    When working with files that reference missing fonts, sometimes it is necessary to find the exact font but there is little to go on other than the font name displayed. If font information was stored such as version, type of font (TrueType, OpenType, Type-1, etc...), foundry, version, date, etc...it would make it far more efficient to track down the correct font.

    For example, when working with product labels, etchings or logos often it is necessary to use the exact font to maintain consistency in manufactured products. Having little more to go on than a name makes it extremely difficult. This feature would save a lot of time!

    It would be even more helpful if you could find a way to identify a font where information has not been stored yet...but I wouldn't cry over that.

12. Full Alignment Center Option (both horizontally and vertically)

    Instead of having two tools (Horizontal and Vertical Align Center), can we get a tool that does both in one called something like Fully Align Center. I've included an image of what the tool might look like.

13. To have an option in stroke panel to keep end points vertical/horizontal on angled strokes

    Would love an option to easily have the endpoint of a stroke remain vertical/horizontal when using angled strokes. To 'shear' a stroke isn't easy, so could this be an option in the Stroke panel?

14. Add an option to Outline pathfinder command to keep original strokes

    Outline command is great when you need to cut your path on every intersection. But sadly, it also sets all strokes to None. Most of the times this is not I want. Every time when I see this function explained to somebody else, I see them adding "...but sadly it will make all your strokes vanish".
    Please make an option to keep strokes.

15. Repeat between Guides option for Art Brushes

    Please make an option to allow "Repeat between Guides" rather than just stretch. If you are creating a textured brush - stretching it renders it useless. Allowing for repeat would make textures lines work at infinite lengths.

16. Gradient Tool Needs Custom Angle Increment Option

    There should be an option to define the angle increment that you want Shift to lock to when creating or modifying a gradient. Such as 15 degree increments (0º, 15º, 30º...). Come on Adobe!

17. Export for Screens: Option to include file- and artboard-name automatically.

    Ok the "Export for Screen" option is kind of nice, however it takes far too long to set everything up....

    1. The areas to type in are far too small.
    2. Automation is week a. where can define that all images will get the file name of the original *.AI file. b. why does it keep the old folder location? Set an option to export is where the original *.AI-file is located. c. Where are some presets? Wouldn't it be awesome to have some user-defined presets? It would be.

    4. There are to many clicks, like when I want to change the transparency of an *.png-file: 1st click -> seetings 2nd-click -> choosing png 3rd-click -> Background color 4th-click -> Transparent 5th-click -> Save Settings That are 4 clicks too much.
    5. How do I export one png-version as transparent and one with white background?

18. Windows start menu tile color bug in windows version 20H2

    So after updating my windows version to 20H2 (2009),
    I found out both of the PCs have the same problem of the weird background color of the pinned tile.
    See the picture to have a better understanding.
    I don't know whether this is a windows or adobe's problem.
    But it only happens on adobe apps

19. Be able to create a finished vector repeat tile from Pattern Editing Mode.

    Currently, the only way for a designer to get a final tile from a repeat pattern created in pattern mode is a clunky workaround involving dragging the fill swatch art from the swatches panel to the artboard and then working with the bounding shape to create a cropped, repeatable tile for export. We need a button to click inside pattern mode that creates a tile from the artwork inside pattern mode that is perfectly cropped (could be a clipping mask) but will retain all the live content that typically gets expanded when you exit pattern mode. This option should allow you to generate a half-drop tile based on the tile edge or a tile based on the swatch bounds. I'm sure most designers would prefer to be able to use live content (brushes, freeform gradients, and tools like the Eraser in Pattern Mode) but barring that, we really need finished vector tiles with content that's not expanded. And, we need those tiles without the clunky fill swatch bounding shape workaround.

20. Make an option to disable auto-selection of artboards, when clicked inside

    AI now selects artboard whenever mouse is clicked within in (with any tool). While it's a great general behaviour, I'd like to be able to disable it.

    I have to work with overlapping artboards (which, by the way, sometimes prevent AI from correctly selecting the artboard clicked—it depends on artboards' order). When object is copied, AI remembers it's coordinates. Then, when I go to the object I need to place my copied art over and press Ctrl+F, AI pastes the object in the same coordinates. Sounds OK, but when I clicked that underlying object, AI moved the focus from initial artboard to the one where said object is placed! So I often have to undo it and jiggle with false click to keep selection I want AND select proper artboard.

    Since I don't have to always set the focus every artboard I click when I don't need it, I request an option to disable this autoselection.
