Circles in Illustrator are not accurate
The circles in Illustrator are flawed and here's why.
I discovered a major bug in Illustrator CC. The circles in Illustrator are not accurate. This is the case regardless of whether you use the ellipse tool or the arc tool. Make a circle. Check the dimensions to make sure it's accurate. Draw a radius line at 0º. Copy it 3 times and rotate the copies 90º,180º and 270º. When all of the copied lines are put on the center of the circle, they all touch the inner edge of the circle perfectly. However, Copy the 0º line and rotate it…16 votes -
Scale pattern not object
I was on the Ai help desk with Nikhail, and he told me to write to you - I do surface pattern design and you are supposed to be able to use the shortcut of S and ~ to scale pattern and not an object. But it pulls up the Pen tool for me. We reinstalled latest CC and he worked on it for a long time to no avail. HELP! Otherwise you have to go through like ten steps to transform pattern and not object, everyone else in my class seems to be successful -…

Where is Project Lincoln?
I notice that there isn't even an option to comment on the ridiculously archaic graphic tool in Illustrator that hasn't been updated, as much as I can remember, since the early 2000s.
WHERE IS PROJECT LINCOLN? Why is this such a black box for Adobe? Why do you not address this AT ALL?! I don't know if you've been paying attention, but there is a LOT of data going around these days and we could USE SOME @#$%ING HELP!
UPDATE THE GRAPHING FUNCTION!!!!

Issue with Hidden Layers Exporting in PNG Format
Hello. I am experiencing an issue with Illustrator when exporting my files to PNG format using artboards. Specifically, the exported PNG includes layers that are hidden and not displayed on the screen at the time of export. This issue does not occur when I export all the artwork or only selected artworks.
Here are the details:
Software Version: 29.3.1
Operating System: Windows 11 24H2
Steps to Reproduce:
Open the Illustrator file.
Hide certain layers.
Export the file to PNG format using artboard and have transparent background.
Check the exported PNG file.
Despite hiding the layers before…3 votes -
Select Same / Larger / Smaller Size / Width / Height
The Select Same Color, Appearance, Opacity is quite helpful. Add a new option for Size. The area size of the current selected element would be calculated and then used to find other similar objects within the document that meet that same area size.
A tolerance up or down or range could be provided as well. It would also be helpful to offer a setting for "Select Anything this size and smaller/larger".
This kind of feature would be very helpful when attempting to clean up an illustration generated from a live traced sketch.

Overprint black: ignore groups
This may be brought up elsewhere, but I've tried to give it a clear title.
Currently, when setting overprint to 100k strokes (for example), Illustrator may not display/apply the overprint for grouped objects, making the user have to find the erroneous objects, then ungroup them.
Overprint slows Ai down a lot, making this task a real headache, so it'd be lovely if this were sorted in the menu.

Smart guides disappear when I switch to the eyedropper tool
I have had issues in the 2026 version of illustrator. The smart guides disappear when I choose the eyedropper tool.
After many hours of support with adobe, they found out it was a change that was introduced to the 2026 version, to improve overall application funtionality.
However my feedback to this, is shared with their engineering team, and they will further review this behavior. My hope is that they discard this new change, as the smart guides can be turned off totally, if you do not wish to use them, so I do not understand, why it should disappear on…

Allow to nudge or rotate individual elements along the path for Objects on Path
Objects on Path needs more options and in its current setup is very limited in its usefulness. This tool feels like it's still in beta. Whilst it's good at doing the one thing it's designed to do, it's missing a lot of useful capabilities.
One of missing bits is the ability to nudge or rotate individual elements along the path.
Other two requests are:
1. Objects on Path needs an ability to keep orientation of objects relative to page/path, similar to blends — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48984890
2. Add an option to measure gaps between objects in Objects on Path by their bounds,…17 votes -
Fullcap function doesn't work for ydieresis
The fullcaps function doesn't work for the character “ÿ” y-dieresis. All the other letters work correctly, and it works in inDesign too, the problem seems to appear only in AI and PS
Here is the file https://adobe.ly/2StUHJN

Move a shape side (edge) without selecting both anchor points
Illustrator currently requires selecting both anchor points of a side to move it.
When working on very tall or large objects at high zoom levels, this forces users to pan away from the working area just to select the second anchor point, interrupting focus and slowing down layout work.Feature request:
Add an edge-based editing option that allows moving an entire side (edge) of a shape by interacting with a single visible anchor point or directly with the edge itself, without selecting the opposite anchor or changing the viewport. This behavior exists in other design tools (Figma, InDesign frames, CAD…

Add checkbox to modify Magic Wand tool so you can select from "Active" or "All Artboards"
Selecting fills/strokes based on their colors is a great way to make changes quickly in Adobe Illustrator.
The issue with the Magic Wand tool is that it selects colors from ALL ARTBOARDS.
My request is to add a simple checkbox to give the Magic Wand tool the option to select just the "Active" artboard. By default it will select from "All" artboards.
Thank you!

Please Support the File Info feature for SVG files
When saving files in SVG format, we can't currently save File Info, such as copyright, file name etc. You can fill it in but it disappears when you open the file again. I was told but Adobe that the File Info only works with .ai files and they suggested I ask about it here.
This is valuable to me because I can record copyright information with each SVG file.

Show global swatch triangle marker in Fill Stroke Control when a global swatch is selected
Global swatches are marked with a white triangle in the bottom right corner of the swatch. Book colors also have a black dot in this triangle.
These triangles are displayed everywhere swatches are used in UI: Appearance, Properties, Control... But for some reason they are omitted in tool panels, in Fill Stroke controls (and also Gradient).
I personally see no reason why. Sure users would benefit from knowing exactly if a color is global or not when they see the color chip anywhere.

Eyedropper Tool should pick colors from OpenType-SVG fonts
When picking a color from either color vector and bitmap OpenType-SVG fonts, the picked color is currently the default underlying text color (often black), not what is actually displayed on screen.

Remove round corner minimum angle limit
Please allow for round corner angle threshold control via Preferences. The very common issue I have all the time is being unable to round corners with angles smaller than some hardcoded threshold.
Not a big issue rally on simple trivial geometry where you can workaround by manually constructing the round corner. But in my field I have to constantly deal with large complex paths needing all corners rounded regardless of angle.
I always have to resort to exporting geometry to SVG, rounding corners in Corel or Affinity which don't have the said minimal angle limit, import back to …

No outline for an empty layer’s thumbnail in Layers panel
In a previous edition of Ai, when in the layers palette and having a layer with no content, the thumbnail square didn't have an outline. Now it has an outline and leads you to believe there is content there.
Why did you change it? Leave it without an outline so you can delete it without the extra steps of looking for content you might not see (being white) or want to delete.
I feel both Adobe and Apple make changes just to makes changes and justify someone's job. I really resent the accumulation of constant unnecessary changes…

Display artboard captions when exporting artboards
Every time when i have multiple artboards and hit Save As, Ii don't know exactly which artboards i want to include, cause i don't know the specific number.
So i go back out of the save as dialog, pick the Artboard Tool and save again, now able to see which numbers i want to include. I would be less time consumption if it would show the numbers of the artboards always no matter which tool is selected, when there is a save as or export dialog started.11 votes -
Width Tool Changes When Adding New Points or Mirroring and Joining Objects
This issue really affects me, especially when I create an entire path, but then gets destroyed due to more points. Could you consider getting rid of width profiles or make an option to disable it? I want the width point to stay at the exact same place all the time just like anchor points! Also the width tool points can be very inaccurate, as shown in the picture below.

Share "Typequest" cache with Adobe applications.
Illustrator CC 2019 and InDesign CC 2019 generate "Typequest" caches in separate folders by Visual Font Browsing, but occupy the disk because each cache size is large.
For Japanese, the font data becomes very large.
In the future, it is not practical to generate caches individually for other applications, so caches should be shared by applications.(Translated to Japanese)
12 votes -
Always call guides as 'guides'
Open Layers and Control panels.
Enable rulers and drag a guide from one.
Take a look at how the selected guide is called:
— <Guide> in Layers
— Path in ControlNow create a rectangle and a line, and also draw a path with the Pencil.
Convert all three to guides with View > Guides > Make Guides (Cmd/Ctrl + 5).
Compare the names:
— <Rectangle> and <Line> but <Guide> in Layers
— Rectangle and Line but Path in ControlSure, these first two are technically live shapes (and have dedicated controls in Control)... but also are guides. Why Ai…
