Gestures Broken
Gestures (e.g. pinch to zoom, two finger panning) don't work in Illustrator for me anymore. They used to work just fine on both my Wacom tablet and laptop's touchpad, but now don't work for either. They work in Photoshop, just not Illustrator, so I'm not sure if it's an option that's been deselected or an actual bug, but I can't find the option if so. I can usually scroll vertically, pinch to zoom sometimes scrolls horizontally instead, and I can't use gestures to actually zoom at all.
OS: Windows 10
Version: Illustrator 2017
I am glad to update that this issue was fixed in 23.0.5 release.
Thank you for all the feedback.

I'm also on a Surface Book 2 having issues with my trackpad in Illustrator. Zoom doesn't work and neither does an angled pan, just horizontal and vertical.

yeah this is bonkers, I just bought this SB2 today downloaded creative cloud installed apps and I am losing my mind with this jitter. two finger touchpad zoom is a huge part of laptop design so am definitely bummed it's not working all scroll zoom is wayyyyyyy too sensitive so is scrolling up and down that jitter is extremely painful. Never experienced this before... everrrrrrrrrrrrr (adobe user since 1999)

Have the exact same problem! Customer service remote controlled my computer for 30-40min and couldnt give me and answer or any workaround. I wouldn't expect many responses from them either, they haven't answered this question in any forum they have referred me to.

Hey everyone, so I just purchased a brand new Surface Book 2, and i'm having extreme lag when using 2 finger scroll and ALT 2 finger zoom. It's almost unusable, very choppy, jittery, and it will sometimes zoom out when i'm zooming in, and go left when i'm trying to go right. I am currently using the latest version of both Windows and Illustrator.
Any help with be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The multi-finger gestures on touchpad are not working, on illustrator to move the view left to right, you need to use to fingers pinching sideways, apart to move left, together to move right. It makes the workflow slow and frustrating. Zoom in and out not working at all using the touchpad, it is only possible through ctrl +/- or using the zoom tool. The same happens on indesign. The gestures work just fine on Mac, it seems only windows has this problem. They also work fine on photoshop for windows. I have the Illustrator cc 2018 vers 22.1

its okay but very jagged and trying to move diagonally is embarrassing (maybe a hardware issue? SB2)

I am having the same issue on my surface book. While a brush is selected, I can use the touch pad to scroll but as soon as my hand is touching the screen, it is drawing a line.
Was this changed on purpose? That palm rejection does not work while using a brush? I found a lot of forums where this issue is mentioned.
Thanks for your reply.

There have been a LOT of problems using Dell Canvas and Illustrator, but this seems to be the last one I can't fix. Multitouch gestures seem to be disabled whenever the pencil or brush is the selected tool. This is a major pain to my workflow to keep switching tools to pan or zoom in, especially when it can cause a brush/swatch reset. PLEASE fix this!

Thanks for reporting the issue.
We are able to reproduce the issue on Windows Surface Pro 3 and Dell Touch Laptop with 2 Finger gesture but not with Touch Pad.
Internal Bug ID to track this issue is AI-4209713.
Did you are observing the issue with Touch Pad as well? Thanks,
