Export JPG/PNG (any format) in same folder of AI file (like before)
Hello, since update (CC 2018 22.0.0), when I do file>export> as jpeg, the file location is the last used and not the same as the AI file just open.
This can seems not important for you, but I do this 40x per day and now it's a waste of time. In CC 2017 this was ok.
I have to browse all the folders on local network .. to find my folder and it's boooooring.
There is no setting for this in preferences.
Thank you for your help.
(we are a infographist team and all complains about this.)

Just tested and can confirm this is STILL broken in v23.
Please just add a checkbox and give users a choice. This workflow as it currently stands is extremely impractical.

Since the last update (Nov 1, 2017) - when I go to export my AI as a PNG, I'm forced to browse to the folder the AI file is saved in if I have opened another file before the export process has begun.
For example:
I am creating a file called "sample file". I save it to the folder I want it to be in.
While I'm working on the file, I need an element that exists in another file, "old file", so I open that to copy it.
I continue working on "sample file" and save the changes.
Now when I want to export it, I'm taken do the directory of "old file", instead of the one that "sample file" is saved in.

Hello, I have the latest update 22.1, still no export function in any format. I have uninstalled AI and Creative Cloud and reinstalled, nothing changed. I have deleted the Prefs file, still no export function. Please contact me so we can get this resolved. Thank you, Ramon

Agree. I don't use export for screens just because of this. I like, when export understands what I'm working on and exports presets in relative folder.

This is still very broken.
I'm on Ai v22.1 on Windows 10. When I Export for Screens my expected workflow is that the export to: folder would be the last folder I exported to in that file, same with the prefix.
Instead what is happening is the prefix and folder is persisting regardless what file I am in. This is very sloppy & not intuitive at all.
The old export system was fantastic and yet now I feel like I'm constantly changing folders and prefixes for simple exports. Why not at least have a setting for power users to enable this again?!
In its current form it is infuriating.

I don't care really commented
I changed my workflow and folder structures to accomodate for the behavior pre 22.1 and now I have to change it again.
The next time the UX expertZzZ at Adobe come up with brilliant ideas, instead of changing it for everyone, introduce a setting to let the user control the behavior. Voilà problem solved. -

I just downloaded the installation of the mentioned update that would solve this system error and the same is still the same way. going to the last folder used. the same still happens to "save a copy".
