Export JPG/PNG (any format) in same folder of AI file (like before)
Hello, since update (CC 2018 22.0.0), when I do file>export> as jpeg, the file location is the last used and not the same as the AI file just open.
This can seems not important for you, but I do this 40x per day and now it's a waste of time. In CC 2017 this was ok.
I have to browse all the folders on local network .. to find my folder and it's boooooring.
There is no setting for this in preferences.
Thank you for your help.
(we are a infographist team and all complains about this.)

Great to hear that this is been considered. Will the same behaviour be restored to the "Save a copy" command too?

This needs fixing ASAP. I'm doing up to 60 files a day and my productivity has been massively reduced because of this basic issue.

The location that opens when using 'Save as' or 'Save a copy' is the last location an Illustrator file was saved to. It should default to the folder where the active file is currently located.

With the update to CC 2018 , when exporting or saving a file the finder window will go to the previous directory used by illustrator (often from another file) instead of the working folder for the open file. This becomes really tiresome when you work through 100+ files a day, all in different directories or servers. Is there a way to change this preference so the save or export location is always the working folder?
Thanks

On version 21, when I was exporting a file (to jpg for example), the new file was being saved in the same location as the original file I was exporting.
On version 22, the default location is the last location I used to save.Maybe it would be good if I could choose one option or the other in the preferences.
I prefer the exported version to be saved together with the original as it was on version 21.
Others may prefer to keep exported files in a separate folder as on version 22. -

Since the update to 22.0, the behaviour of "Save a copy" has changed so as to present the last-browsed folder destination in Windows Explorer. Previously this defaulted to the location of the working file.
This is interrupting workflow considerably. I'm sure I am not alone in saving PDF copies of artwork in profess, for discussion with colleagues and clients. This used to be a couple of keystrokes but now I have to remember to browse back to the working file location each time.
In summary:
Expected Result: Explorer window should really default to the location of the working file.
Actual Result: Shown location in Explorer window is that of the last-browsed folder destination.

It would be nice to have a checkbox option at EXPORT:
"Remember destination folder" when exporting, so the user can choose to have the destination folder saved,
or
if unchecked the default folder would be the same as the opened documents folder. -

Every time a new file is opened, the export location for assets / art-boards has to be selected manually. It would be great if the folder location of the exports can be saved along with the file.
This will save a lot of manual effort to browse to the export location for different files.
