Bounding box suddenly disappears using Selection Tool
Suddenly disappears, but when a select scale then select the "Selection Tool" again the Bounding box reappears. When it is gone, togglingthe quick key, has no effect though t changes the menu state for turning it on and off. Also, when it can't be seen, a small icon for the bounding box is in the corner, occasionally.
Sound familiar to anyone else?
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Same issue. Wildly inefficient.
Pressing the hotkeys or going to view *does not* fix this issue.

Bounding Box appears to disappear and reappear at random times. Yes, I'm aware of Shift+Command+B, still doesn't appear to fix issue. In conjunction with this same issue, elements/shapes appear to get "stuck" in certain positions – not allowing them to be edited. Also in conjunction, elements/shapes revert back to earlier state while trying to move, transform, or edit them.

You can click Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+B or Go up to View and click Show Bounding Box to bring that feature back

Do a marquee select around what you want to scale, hold down the Command key (and Shift key if you want to scale proportionately), you'll see the handles, drag a corner to scale.

The bounding box keeps turning “off” or disappearing altogether. Temporarily reappears when switching layer visibility or CPU/GPU view. Sometimes appears on objects that are no longer selected. Even the layers panel sometimes incorrectly shows which objects are selected. The work area sometimes does not show items that are moved or resized. It’s like there is some kind of lag between the actual state of the document and the visible state.

Tried all suggestions below still gone and now the phone is ringing with the client wondering where his change is because he wants to leave for the holiday. Perfect all.

Yep. Super bad I'm on a dead line too when it started this new freak out. I restarted and then Illustrator didn't want to open.

I had the same issue but uninstalled then reinstalled Illustrator and that seemed to fix it.. for now.

Based on the image you posted, it looks like you have the Direct Tool selected (renders anchor points when you do this). The bounding box only appears when using the regular Selection Tool (black arrow).

I'm having the same issue. Illustrator works fine for a couple of hours and then the bounding boxes start disappearing, or odder yet, I select one object and it has no bounding box while another element gets selected on its own with it's own bounding box. In other words, 2 objects are selected at the same time by just clicking on one. ???
And sorry I keep coming up Anonymous. I've logged in but it's not recognizing my username for some reason.

Same issues since updating. Renders program next to useless. Been using since 1992 and worse release yet.

I'm having the same issue. Primary when working with point-type text and try to scale it using the bounding box. Only, my bounding boxes will disappear from said text and be applied to some other random element (even on another artboard). So when I go to scale the text some other element on some other artboard is what gets scaled. NOT the original text. Super annoying and the only temp fix is the hide the bounding box and then showing it again. Other fix is to quit and restart Illustrator

It took me a while to find that Direct Selection Tool is hidden with Magic Want Toll.

I was having this problem also today. I think they just changed the tool and how it works. I was able to add an anchor point by selecting my item, clicking on the 'Pen Tool' and then using that tool to add the anchor point.
Worked for me :)
Just don't use the Anchor Point Tool :/ -

I'm having a similar problem on my mac - I click on the anchor point but it doesn't select it and give me handles. It works on the pc but not on the mac. I've restarted, have show bounding box on, show edges on, it's a bug! WHAT IS THE FIX????

The fix for this seems to be: Under VIEW, turn on BOUNDING BOXES. Worked for me at least. They disappeared all of a sudden when I last restarted. Working on Mac.
