Modified link, Missing Link pop ups
Basically I get a pop up of modified or missing links every 2 to 3 minutes, constantly, it keeps happening with different files, I do have links but they are not being modified nor missing!!! And it drives me crazy, this is new for me, since I updated to Ai 2020. Any help?
This issue has been addressed in Illustrator version 24.0.3 (on MAC) & 24.0.2 (on WIN). Please update to the latest version to verify that your issue is addressed or not.
Thanks & Regards,
Hi Adobe, THIS PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED. Please address, it's insanely annoying and seems to slow down the file processing as well. Wonderful.
@Spiky - that is their legitimate fix. It installs the newest version of Illustrator. Downloading their install file & installing it fixed the problem for me. They have installation instructions on that page too if you need more help.
I am having the same issue as of today, on a job I started yesterday and was not having the problem. I am not technically minded, so not sure if the adobe.ly/1o2SDsg and get the latest build for version 24.0.2 pre release is something I want to dabble in. Surely, Adobe, if you know there is a fix and paying customers are having problems, you can release a legitimate fix.
This issue is costing me in time, money and my sanity.
Hey All - Adobe's feedback/solution worked for me! Here's what I did:
1. Visit this page to get the latest build for version 24.0.2: adobe.ly/1o2SDsg
2. Under Downloads, click MAC 24.0.2 (Build 2) ~ 1.89 GB (or the WIN one if you're on Windows)
After installing that file, I haven't gotten the error message and everything is working correctly again!
This problem with pop up mentioning modified or missing links every 2 to 3 minutes is unacceptable. I have been using Adobe Illustrator since its original release. It's become the primary software that I use in my daily work. Ever since you released CC and got into the stock photo business your software has become more and more glitchy. I see mentions of this on here from as far back as October 2017. This is seriously impeding my workflow. If you're upgrades are making your users lives more difficult that's obviously a problem you should be attending to. PLEASE FIX THIS!! And whoever decided to remove holding shift to keep aspect ratio in Photoshop needs to find another profession : [
I am having the same issue, I do not see an option to update to the 24.02 version? And the pop up is very annoying/disruptive...
Same problem here - as of 1.1.2020 absolutely driving me batty. Happens every minute or so and i want to throw my computer out the window. But then I don't.
Same issue for me. Same issue here. Some minutes in-between or sometimes seconds. Why are the new versions always not ready for launch when they launch them?

Also having this issue... such a PITA
Having this issue with CC 2020, didn't have it before the switch.

I'm getting the same issue. It's driving me CRAZY. It keeps coming up every 15 seconds at least.
Also, sometimes when I place an image, right after placing, it's saying "there was an error placing this image" and if I Ignore all, it places a kazillion copies of it...
This version of Illustrator is rough....takes forever to save the most basic file. And this 'update missing links' window every time I move an image around my file. I'm not updating links, I'm just moving an image.
So buggy Adobe.....figure these things out please.
This occurs much more frequently on my program, 3 to 4 times every 5 minutes
Experiencing a similar issue but with EMBEDDED links (not live ones), details here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/39154411-embedded-links-in-illustrator-2020-show-up-as-both
Linked images that gets embedded in Illustrator 2020 shows up on both MISSING links panel and EMBEDDED panel - triggers the "Some files are missing or modified in Links Panel. Would you like to update them now?" popup every 10-15 mins (but all images are embedded).
Source images before embedding lived within same folder as the AI workfile. Already tried placing images in /Links folder before embedding, does not solve issue of image being classified as missing AFTER embedding.
Also noted that linked images NOT embedded do not show up as missing and perform as per usual (only asks for update if modified).
This is on a 2019 Macbook Pro running Mojave 10.14.6, latest version of Illustrator from Creative Cloud.
Image files for test file are web-sized JPEGs, nothing crazy.
How can I ensure embedded links stay embedded and stop Illustrator from asking me to update them/thinking they are missing?

YES, I'm so glad it's not just me. It's so annoying.
