1. Illustrator最新版で A-OTF フォントが使用できない件について

   お世話になっております。

   現在、以下の環境で A-OTF フォントが Illustrator で使用できない 不具合が発生しております。

   環境

   macOS：15.6.1（Sequoia）

   Adobe Illustrator：最新版（28.x）

   Morisawa Fonts アプリ：最新版を使用

   フォント例：A-OTF ゴシックMB101 Pr5

   症状

   Illustrator のフォント一覧には A-OTF フォントが表示されるが、選択すると代替フォントに置き換わり使用できない。

   Photoshop など他の Adobe アプリ（Photoshop、InDesign）では同じフォントを正常に使用可能。

   Morisawa Fonts アプリ上では該当フォントはアクティブ化されている。

   実施済み対策

   Illustrator のアンインストール／クリーンインストール

   環境設定・キャッシュの削除

   Morisawa Fonts アプリの再インストール、ログイン／再アクティブ化

   macOS 再起動

   上記すべてを実施しても改善せず

   特記事項

   Illustratorを一つ古いバージョン（27.x）に戻したところ、問題なくフォントを使用できた。

   よって、最新版 Illustrator（28.x）と macOS 15.6.1 環境における A-OTF フォントの不具合である可能性が高いと考えられる。

2. Many issues in Illustrator 2025

   Hi everyone,
   I'm experiencing a range of serious issues in Illustrator 2025 when working with AI or PDF files (many of which originate as PDFs and are then converted to AI for editing). Here's a breakdown of what's going wrong:

   ⚠️ Main Problems:

   Error ID: -128 when pasting text
   Every time I try to paste text into a text box—whether copied from a browser, a PDF, or even another Illustrator file—I get an error saying:
   Can't paste the type. ID: -128
   This makes it impossible to replace or update any existing text areas.

   Can't move objects: transformation too large
   When trying to move a single element, I get an error:
   Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large.
   No idea why this happens—nothing is grouped, and I’ve checked that all layers are unlocked.

   Dragging text boxes stretches the text instead of resizing the box
   When I try to expand a text area, Illustrator stretches the text itself rather than increasing the box size. It seems like all text is stuck in Point Type mode, and switching it to Area Type doesn’t always work.

   Selection issues and erratic grouping

   Some objects can't be selected at all unless I use Outline mode.

   Clicking one object sometimes causes all nearby objects to move.

   Even though I haven't grouped anything, Illustrator treats random sets of objects as if they're linked.

   Save and export often fail or hang

   Saving the document often gets stuck or results in a corrupt file.

   Exporting as PDF, PNG, or SVG occasionally fails without an error or freezes Illustrator entirely.

   🧪 What I’ve tried:

   Clean reinstall of Illustrator 2025

   Resetting preferences

   Unlocking all objects and layers

   Copying elements into a new document

   Using older file formats (e.g., Illustrator 2020)

   Saving as SVG and reimporting

3. When a justified area type with a short line gets converted into a point type, text shifts

   Why this justified text suddenly jumps into the middle of the area type’s bounds when converted into a point type? Not new at all, happens in CC2017 at least. It should stay where it was. If I change it to be just left-aligned, it works as expected.

4. Threaded text areas display only first lines when Adobe Every-Line composer is used, since 29.6

   Issue: two or more threaded text areas no longer render all text inside. The text does still exist (as visible in View > Outline) but it does not render on screen or when exporting / saving out. Whereas text flashes visibility for single text areas with no threading, but does eventually show.

   Actions taken: fresh text areas; freshly typed text (not copy-pasted); fresh document with fresh areas and fresh text. All do not render fully. Also ensured text is at the very top with no unseen masks or shapes obscuring. Turning off and on Outline View, bounding box, edges etc.

   Temporary solution: rolling back to v29.5. In this earlier version threaded text areas render fully and correctly.

   Ai: v29.6.x and v29.7
   PC: Win 11 Enterprise; build 26100.4652 and 22631.5624.

6. Illustrator wrongly says texts were created in different version of Illustrator

   After the update, this message now appears, saying that my files were created in a different version. But it should be backwards compatible.

7. Upside down text stroke disappears when exporting

   When I go to export files in illustrator any upside down font with a stroke that has not been outlined shows up in the jpeg without the stroke.

9. Text wraps differently in Illustrator 2025 compared to previous version

   Encountered a very frustrating bug after updating to Illustrator 2025 today and opening an existing file. It turns out that text within type areas wraps slightly differently in this new version, causing overflow errors in several places throughout the document.

   The file I discovered this in was created yesterday in Illustrator 28.5.

   Interestingly, when I hover the affected text area, the blue preview rendering shows the old, expected wrapping. There is no way to get it back in the actual, rendered text, though.

   Zero changes have been made to this file since yesterday—only the Illustrator version has changed. I checked that this was indeed a bug by having a team member open the same file in the previous version of Illustrator, and the text was still displayed correctly there.

   This is really frustrating, as the only workaround is to manually lower the kerning value at the end of the word that should be on the line above. Very annoying to have to take care of this in a design file that was already finished and approved.

10. Contextual alternates don’t work for Cyrillic letters with Adobe Single-line and Every-line composers

    While Ai allows to pick a contextual alternate for Cyrillic letters for fonts that support them, it actually works only for Middle-Eastern & South-Asian composers, but is visually ignored for Adobe Single-line and Every-line composers.

11. Fonts not loading Illustrator 24 v28.6

    Running Windows 10, Illustrator 24 v 28.6
    I have been trying to upload fonts today... all day on 7 fonts! I have uploaded, installed, removed, updated, rebooted, and reinstalled and rebooted again trying to get the fonts to load.
    Of the 7 fonts I needed to install, 6 have uploaded properly. The final one, Bebas, has refused to be recognized. See attached photos. It shows that it is uploaded, installed and even gives an error showing there are duplicates, but the installed font will not open in illustrator 24 v28.6
    Help please!

13. Menu selection of window stuck after clicking on "Font" without selecting further option

    After selecting the menu item "window" → "Font" (without the sub-menu) the menu freezes. No further access to the program possible. After ending the program (OS - option, not program option) the window with the document disappeared (without asking for saving), the menu remained on screen (see screenshot). Only forced ending worked.

    In Indesign a hair space is a twenty fourth of an em-dash independent of the font size.
    In Illustrator a hair space depends on the font size.
    6pt font -> hair space is a sixth of em-dash
    10pt font -> hair space is a tenth of em-dash
    20pt font -> hair space is a twentieth of em-dash
    40pt font -> hair space is a fortieth of em-dash
    in other words: a hair space in Illustrator is always 1pt

    In Illustrator a thin space is a fifth of an em-dash.

    Indesign seams to do it the right way.
    Illustrator is buggy in both cases.

    ILLUSTRATOR VERSION:
    Various versions. Confirmed on Adobe Illustrator 2024 v28.0 (used for screenshots). This happens across computers and OS and Illustrator versions.

    STEPS TAKEN:
    Opened file and clicked on text.

    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    Selecting text should show leading in Character Panel.

    ACTUAL RESULTS:
    Leading field is blank in Character Panel.

    Leading (line spacing) is sometimes not shown in the Character Panel. The field is blank. This can occur when selecting many characters, which might be expected if different characters in the selection have different leading.

    BUT this also happens when a single character is selected, or the cursor is between characters (screenshots attached), in which case, only one leading value is possible (or should be).

    Undefined leading is a serious problem, and makes matching or checking leading very difficult in a production environment.

    OS:

17. Find and Replace text results in unwanted repeated characters

    Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1

    Using the Edit > Find and Replace... function to search for and remove text results in the first character after the removed text to be repeated. For example:

    Old text: Lorem Singapore / Lorem Hong Kong / Lorem Australia
    Find "Lorem " and replace with nothing
    Result: SSingapore / HHong Kong / AAustralia

18. Paragraph Styles: Where has Paragaph Direction for Middle Eastern Version gone? (AI ME 2024)

       Mac Pro (Late 2013)

    2. Illustrator 2024 Middle Eastern Version (27.9)

    3. Problem is on Paragraph Style:
       While under General on the left column I can see under "Indents and Spacing" that my Paragraph Direction is set to "Right to Left", I can't find this definition where is should be, on the left column under "Indents and Spacing". It is missing.

    4. Paragraph Direction should appear under "Indents and Spacing" on the Paragraph Style options.

19. フォントが反映されない

    一部フォントが反映されません。
    現在確認できているのは「AB-kirigirisu」「UDShinMGoPro6N-Light」「TBUDRGoStd-Regular」「mplus-1c-heavy」「mplus-2p-black」の5種です。
    この5種がillustrator内の文字ウィンドウのフォントファミリーを設定の一覧に表記がありませんが、ブラウザのAdobe Font内にはフォントが追加されている状態になっています。
    フォントをアクティベートする、フォントを一旦削除してから再度追加しなおす、PCを再起動するなどしましたが、改善しませんでした。

20. Font Height settings not working with all-small-cap typefaces

    1. Working in MacOS 13.5.2

    2. Illustrator 27.8.1

    3. When setting type in a Area Type box, the default Font Height is snapping to the x-height of the text, but only when using fonts with small-cap style lowercase letterforms, rather than typical lowercase forms. When using a font with typical lowercase, the Font Height of the box is defaulting to the height of uppercase letters, as expected.

    This behavior is happening to fonts installed locally on my system, as well as those activated though Adobe Fonts.

    Selecting various settings for the Font Height option in the Character panel does not alter this behavior, for any of the fonts regardless of style.
