  1. Font changes from the current one to the previously used while typing

    I'm working on a document in which I used Avenir font, but for the most I use Myriad Pro. When I click with the Type tool I see in the character box I'm with the default font (Myriad Pro) and start typing. Then noticed I'm now in Avenir font!
    This bug is brand new with the latest update (29.1), I didn't add any issue of that type before.
    I'm on Windows 11 PC Core i7-13700 32 Go of RAM

  2. Fonts changing in files when opened in Illustrator 29.5.1

    Existing files created in illustrator (on a different desktop) when opened in v29.5 & v29.5.1 display incorrect fonts - the font is changed to a completely different font (e.g. Myriad Pro will be changed to Times New Roman) throughout the document. All the text in that font family is changed, but other fonts used in the document will display correctly. The font is installed correctly on the system and the changed font can be changed to the correct font by selecting the font from the illustrator font list. The thumbnails display correctly in Bridge before opening in illustrator. Reverting illustrator…

  3. New fonts don't load upon installation

    Somehow, the new Adobe Illustrator updates prevent manually installed fonts from loading. These are fonts that aren't available in Adobe Fonts. So I have to install them manually. Because of this, I have to restart Illustrator so I can use the font. There's no problem when activating fonts on Adobe Fonts. Is there a workaround for this?

  4. Em dash incorrectly rotates upright in vertical text layout

    Illustrator 2025 (29.8.1) (29.8.2) Japanese

    Em dashes are Latin characters, so in vertical text layout they should be rotated sideways like other alphanumeric characters.
    However, in v29.8.2, Em dashes are rotated upright like Japanese characters. This is clearly a bug.

    EMダッシュは欧文の文字なので、縦組みでは他の英数字を同じく横倒しになります。
    しかし、v29.8.2では、和文の文字のように正立回転してしまいます。これは明らかにバグです。

  5. Font styles applied to portions of text 'slide' / shift positions when area type overflows

    Illustrator 29.7.1 on Mac Ventura 13.5.2 (22G91)

    I dont' know whether it's related to this current issue, but now I have parts of my text that change appearance when I'm trying to change the Font weight of another part, or when I try to type more text.

    The workaround I have found it copy-pasting the text into a new Textbox. But still, this needs to be fixed.

  6. All Text Disappeared!

    I saved my file as .aic but the next time I opened it all the text layers disappeared! Everytime I open the file it automatically creates a recovered version also, but still no text. I also cannot download the version from cloud that shows the last version I made with all the text still visible.

  7. Keyboard shortcuts for text formatting (kerning, tracking, leading, font size) no longer work in Illustrator 29.7.1

    This feature just stopped working. Please fix.

    These also don't work:

    Increase or decrease leading: Option + Up or Down Arrow (horizontal text) or Right or Left Arrow (vertical text)

    Increase or decrease kerning and tracking: Option + Right or Left Arrow (horizontal text) or Up or Down Arrow (vertical text)

  8. We request that function key conversion be re-enabled for Japanese input.

    Due to the latest update release, the conversion shortcuts using function keys during Japanese input have become unavailable. Please restore them so they can be used again.

    Conversion shortcut details:
    F6 → Hiragana
    F7 → Katakana
    F8 → Half-width Roman characters
    F9 → Full-width Roman characters

    In Japan, conversion shortcuts using function keys are commonly used.
    Previously, I could use those keys for Japanese input conversion without having to delete the corresponding Illustrator shortcut settings. However, in the latest version, even deleting the settings doesn't work, which is inconvenient.

  9. After updating my system to Sequoia 15.7.2, the text tools stopped working.

    After updating my system to Sequoia 15.7.2, the text tools stopped working.
    Any action I perform on the text, such as changing the size or font, produces no result. The app slows down significantly. My work has completely stopped because of this.
    I have the latest version, 30.0, installed.
    I tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator, but that didn't help.
    I also tried installing an older version, but the result was the same. Is Illustrator incompatible with the new Sequoia 15.7.2?

    Any ideas?

  10. Fonts change after reopening Illustrator file

    I created a mailer in Illustrator with around 10–12 artboards and exported everything perfectly with the correct fonts. When I reopened the same file after two days to make changes, all the fonts had changed automatically, some text had disappeared, and the layout no longer matched my earlier exported JPGs. The fonts were installed and displaying correctly at the time of the first export, so the issue only appeared after reopening the saved file. I’ve attached the before/after GIF to show the difference.

  11. Text size and kerning keyboard shortcuts still do not work.

    Mac Studio - macOS Sequoia 15.6.1
    Adobe Illustrator 2026 ver. 30

    Point/Font size and kerning keyboard shortcuts still don't work. I attempt the key commands and nothing happens, even though the shortcuts are still in the defaults (see attached). Help?!

    AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) responded

    It seems like the Size/Leading, Tracking, Baseline Shift values in Preferences > Type got changed... If it is the issue — please upvote it still and leave a comment. It’s not clear yet why it happens.

  12. Live text converts to outlines when copying and pasting within Illustrator

    When copying artwork that contains live (editable) text and pasting it within the same document, or between Illustrator documents, the text objects intermittently convert to outlines (rendering them non-editable). This occurs with both area type and point type.

    This is happening with brand new files (not old ones). Dragging from one Illustrator document to another (correctly) brings in editable text, but I've ensured no third-party clipboard managers are enabled.

  13. Les raccourcis clavier typographiques ne fonctionnent plus dans la 29.7

    Dans le version illustrator 29.7 du 30 juillet 2025, toutes les fonctions de manipulation des typographies par les raccourcis clavier ne fonctionnent plus. Agrandir et diminuer, soit la taille, soit les interlettrages, les interlignages, etc… Exemple : option flèche du bas, du haut, droite gauche - commande majuscule point.

  14. Font Weights Change Upon Opening Files

    When opening a file I previously saved, all the font weights switched around. Things that were bold were now light and light font were bold. A few fonts were switched out to different fonts altogether, even though the same font was still in the document, so it wasn't like it was unavailable.
    I deleted any duplicate of the fonts and only had fonts from Adobe Fonts used in my documents, but the problem didn't go away. When opening an older version of the file that had the correct fonts weights, it would automatically change once I saved it.

  15. Missing fonts with asterisk still appear in Illustrator font menu — even after cache cleanup

    Illustrator keeps showing missing fonts with an asterisk (*) in the font menu, even when those fonts are no longer installed or active.

    This happens even in new blank documents and after multiple attempts to clean caches and reset preferences.

    It makes the font list cluttered and hard to navigate, especially for users who work with many typefaces.

    Please consider adding an option to hide missing fonts from the font menu, or improve the way Illustrator handles font references and cache rebuilding.

    This issue has been affecting productivity and font management for a long time.

  16. 特定の状態のパス上文字を操作するとIllustratorがクラッシュする。

    macOS 14.7.2／iMac27inch/i5/1TB/32GB
    Illustrator ver.29.7.1

    再現手順
    1. 新規ドキュメントを開きアートボード上に楕円を描画する。
    2. パス上文字ツールで楕円をクリックして楕円を対象にパス上文字を作成
    3. 左右のブラケットを楕円の左右のアンカーポイントに合わせる。
    4. 中央のブラケットを操作するとブラケットが反対側に飛んだり戻ったりする。
    5. 4の挙動の後にクラッシュする。

    期待する結果
    ブラケット操作時に安定して操作できる。

    実際の結果
    ブラケットの操作が不安定で、高確率で最悪クラッシュする。

    回避方法
    楕円の一部をはさみツールで切断しておくことで不安定な動作を回避可能。

    3. Align the left and right brackets with the left and right anchor points of the ellipse.

  18. 「環境にないフォントを解決する」などからバリアブルフォントをアクティベートできない／Cannot activate variable fonts through Resolve Missing Fonts.

    Adobe Fontsが含まれたドキュメントを開くとき、そのフォントが環境になくても「環境にないフォントを解決する」などからアクティベートできるのですが、バリアブルフォントの場合はアクティベートができず、困っています。

    ・和文でも欧文でもバリアブルフォントだとアクティベートできない
    ・Beta版と製品版（2025、2024）で確認したが、アクティベートできないのはいずれも同じ

    回避策として

    ・Adobe FontsのWebサイトで事前にアクティベートしておく
    ・文字パネルの「さらに検索」タブからアクティベートする

    などの方法が挙げられますが、単純に手間ですし、初心者さんにとってはハードルの高い作業だと感じます。
    ほかのフォント同様に「環境にないフォントを解決する」や「フォントの検索や置き換え」からでもアクティベートできるのが正しい挙動だと考えています。

    UserVoiceで似たような報告を見つけられなかったので、日本語版だけのバグではないか？と疑っています。
    バグであれば早めに解消いただけると嬉しいです。

    When opening a document with Adobe Fonts, missing fonts can usually be activated via "Resolve Missing Fonts," but variable fonts cannot.

    • This affects both Japanese and Latin variable fonts.
    • Tested in Beta and release versions (2025, 2024) with the same result.

    Workarounds:

    - Manually activating fonts on the Adobe Fonts website.

    - Using the "Find More" tab in the Character panel.

    However, these add extra steps and can be difficult for beginners. Variable fonts should also be activatable through "Resolve Missing Fonts" and "Find/Replace Fonts," just like other…

  19. Moving several points of an area type or type on path causes "undo"

    I am no longer able to move multiple anchor points for text on a path in v30 (GPU mode).
    I'm using a Studio M2 Max with MacOS 15.5..

    The attached video demonstrates this behavior. I have two duplicate paths. While using "View using GPU" I try to edit multiple nodes on the text path. What happens is:

    1. the preview of the path disappears while I'm trying to move the nodes.
    2. the entire line moves, even though I've only selected a few nodes.
    3. my type was replaced with the "Lorem Ipsum" text (this happens intermittently, not every time).

  20. 縦組みのエリア内文字のスレッドテキストオプション作成が正常に機能しない

    macOS 14.7.2
    Illustrator ver.29.1

    Step to reproduce
    1.縦組みのエリア内文字を作成する
    2.矩形ツールで矩形を描く
    3.エリア内文字と矩形を選択してメニュー「書式→スレッドテキストオプション→作成」を選択する。
    4.矩形が縦組みエリア内文字に変換されるが、スレッドテキストにはならずエリア内文字のコンテンツがコピーされた状態になる。

    期待する動作
    矩形がスレッドテキストとして正常にリンクされる。

    実際の結果
    スレッドテキスト→作成を実行してもスレッドテキストとならずコンテンツの状態もおかしい。

    回避策
    Tツールを使って手動でスレッドテキストをリンクさせる。

    縦組みに対するスレッドテキストオプションの挙動は全般おかしく、エリア内文字や矩形の構成や状態によって挙動が異なる場合がありますが、全般的に意図した通りに動作しない。
    また、おかしくなったエリア内テキストを手動でリンクさせようとするとIllustratorがクラッシュします。
