Recently seeing this thread on Illustrator performance really irked me.

1 voteUnless we get specefic actionable items it will not be possible for us to correct. Performance can be due to variety of reason a file type , a particular type of object on the file (e.g. a large raster), some interference with software that interfere with our event etc… Please help us to help you.

Slow Saving of PDF to Network Share
Whne trying to save PDF's to a network share the save time varies from instant to nearly 30 seconds. The size of the file does not matter, something small can hang with nearly the same chance of something large. The network share is gig e and the server and SAN are brand new and quite powerful. This issue only happens in Illustrator, no other program both Adobe and other vendor has this issue.

Not responsonding
Every time I am working in Illustrator & switch to a different app, Illustrator will hang when I return causing me to wait prior to returning to my work. So, for example if I am working on an illustration then go to google chrome to look at something online then return to my work in Illustrator it will hang & become unresponsive for a little bit of time (1 - 2 minutes) after waiting I can continue to work . Illustrator CC 2018, will not print after recent upgrade.
Microsoft 10, Illustrator CC 2018, will not print after recent upgrade.
Photoshop does and all other programs will print.

import png from Photoshop or Capto results in an invisible link
Illustrator CC 22.1, OSX 10.13.6
When importing a .png or .jpeg from photoshop or as a screen capture from Capto, the link appears in the links panel, but is invisible on the art board or the paste board. If you click go to link in the links panel, it takes you an extremity on the pasteboard, but the link is not visible and cannot be selected.
Expected result, to see the .png on the art board. When searching for link on pasteboard, that it would be visible.
Actual result, link is not visible anywhere, but appears in link palette.

Artboard
When copying one art board and saving PDF. The PDF will sometimes save a extra page automatically. Can easily be fixed in adobe acrobat by deleting the extra copied pages but wish I didn't have to do that in first place.

Artistic effects converting artwork to black
Attempting to apply any Effects>Effect Gallery will render the vector artwork into black and white. Thinking it was a Pantone conflict, I've tried conversion to CMYK with same results.

Illustrator CC 2018 (Mac)
I am using Illustrator CC 2018 (Mac). For some reason, the program crashes frequently when I am opening .AI document.
Any ideas on what is going on? I really need to fix this before next Friday. Thanks.1 vote -
PDF file with Opacity Mask using a 1-Bit tiff when Exporting PNG with Anti-Aliasing TURNED OFF does not render correctly.
BUG: When exporting a PDF file as a PNG containing an Opacity Mask made with a 1-Bit tif file AND Anti-Alias turned off in the PNG Export options does not render correctly. The opacity mask is not WYSIWYG in the exported PNG file. The PNG file contains part of the mask information (from left to right).
The same issue occurs when opening the same PDF file in Adobe Photoshop. If the Anti-aliasing is turned off the resulting PNG is incorrect (although the thumbnail in the PDF import screen IS correct.

Drop shadow rendering/applying inaccurately

Picking a colour from the Library, randomly opens the colour picker
I've got a shared library with assets and colours to use in the work we're doing. When I have an object selected and I pick the colour from the library, it's 50/50 if the colour picker dialog box is going to open or not. I don't want it to open, I've clicked the colour I want to use, so why does it pop up and get in the way? Really annoying!!

Illustrator CC 2018 thinks the Creative Cloud Application isn't installed, can't access libraries in-app
Trying to access Creative Cloud Libraries via the Illustrator in-app panel, shows message as in the attached image. I'm preeety sure CC is installed (as seen in image).
Running:
- Illustrator CC 2018 Ver. 22.1 (64-bit) (Latest)
- Windows 10 Ver. 1803 (Latest)
- Creative Cloud Ver. 4.6.0.384 (Latest)

Editing size of library element is broken: modifying canevas size in CC library object changes the object's scale in existing documents
To replicate this, create a square with a fill and no stroke in a new document. Drag the square into the library panel to create a library element. Drag an instance of the library element you just created back into the document. You will have two identical squares, one which is just a plain square, the other which is a library element.
Edit the library element and make it a different height. Save the changes and go back to the document. The library element is now not the same width as the original square, although you didn't edit that. If…

Properties of Placed Illustrator file
I have a illustrator design file, I could able to place the file in another Illustrator design document, but when I read the properties of the placed object the "name" value shows empty.
Consider this as a bug and fix in future release

Illustrator CC 2018 crashes, when process runs in Batch.
I have a programmed a project that involves opening document, doing some changes, saving and closing the document. And again this process repeats on around 500 documents. Illustrator crashes.

Linked image cannot be moved by fill once it's scaled down to certain point.
An image file, size ~100cmx140cm, was imported into ai. Once it's scaled down to around 10mmx14mm, it can't be selected by its fill( even I zoomed really up close), I'll have to move it around by selecting it's bounding box. When I scale it up a little bit like 1mm, it fixes the problem. This is super annoying. Please fix it.
( I'm using the latest version to date.)
1 votethere is a zoom level on screen beyond which an object can become too small for all of widgets to be meaningfully operated on by the mouse cursor.
Please zoom in a little so that the mouse cursor can fit in between the bounding bog and be able to select a fill area. this should solve the issue.

Not Responding When Click in Font Box
When we click in the Font Box for the first time, it gets hang for 30 to 40 seconds. We have 5th and 6th Gen Intel Systems. Please look into this issue.
