  1. Keyboard Increment field in Preferences no longer gets focused when dialog opens, new Search field does

    Unrequested extra Search function in the Preferences window in update 29.7
    I (and many others) were eagerly awaiting the update because the jumping fonts were a nightmare on the production floor! But who asked for an extra search function in the preferences window? Now I have to press Tab 4 times before I can quickly adjust my Keyboard Increment. As an artworker, I use this function about 10 times a day, so that's an extra 40 times pressing Tab (approximately 800 times a month)... why, why, why?

  2. Font changes from the current one to the previously used while typing

    I'm working on a document in which I used Avenir font, but for the most I use Myriad Pro. When I click with the Type tool I see in the character box I'm with the default font (Myriad Pro) and start typing. Then noticed I'm now in Avenir font!
    This bug is brand new with the latest update (29.1), I didn't add any issue of that type before.
    I'm on Windows 11 PC Core i7-13700 32 Go of RAM

  3. Fonts changing in files when opened in Illustrator 29.5.1

    Existing files created in illustrator (on a different desktop) when opened in v29.5 & v29.5.1 display incorrect fonts - the font is changed to a completely different font (e.g. Myriad Pro will be changed to Times New Roman) throughout the document. All the text in that font family is changed, but other fonts used in the document will display correctly. The font is installed correctly on the system and the changed font can be changed to the correct font by selecting the font from the illustrator font list. The thumbnails display correctly in Bridge before opening in illustrator. Reverting illustrator…

  4. Files don’t save! Saving starts and never finishes and can’t be cancelled

    The saving process starts as soon as I ask for it, but then it never finishes.
    This issue is happening since I download the latest version (29.7.1)

    The problem is not even letting me to close the program in the computer because "Illustrator is currently saving the document and will close it once the save process is complete" signal is appearing so I need to finish the task from the task administrator in the computer

  5. ESC key not exiting text editing and isolation modes in Illustrator 2025 on macOS and PC

    On macOS (latest version), ESC key does not exit text editing mode in Illustrator 2025 as it used to in previous versions.
    Resetting preferences and keyboard shortcuts does not fix it. I created a new action to perform the exit task temporarily.
    Expected behavior: ESC should exit text mode.

  6. GPU Preview glitches with clipping masks and transparency (since Illustrator 29.6.0), white rectangle appears below

    I've encountered a rendering issue starting in Illustrator 29.6.0, and it's still present in 29.6.1. Here's how to reproduce it:

    1. Create a simple circle.
    2. Create a simple rectangle.
    3. Place the circle inside the rectangle using a clipping mask.
    4. Apply any transparency to the circle (e.g., set opacity < 100%, or add a drop shadow).

    Result:
    The rendering becomes corrupted for any object positioned beneath the clipping mask (try placing a filled shape underneath to see the issue clearly).

    Additional Notes:

    The issue only appears in GPU Preview.
    Switching to CPU Preview restores correct rendering.

  7. Illustrator 29.7.1 changes units to points and resets other values after changing Keyboard Increment value when Search field has text in it

    Another paradox is that version 29.7.1 of Illustrator constantly changes the units from px to points after entering an new value in keyboard increment. Does it happen to anybody else?

  8. プリセットのB6サイズについて

    IllustratorのプリセットのB6サイズは125 mm×176 mmですが、日本の規格はB6サイズ182mm×128mmです。
    他の投稿より引用ですが、プリセットは、B4とB5はJISで、他のB系は国際規格になっているので、統一してほしいです。

  9. Artboards & Content are displaced after saving and opening a file

    After saving & opening a file with multiple art boards, many of the artboards and/or their content is shifted around the canvas. I already tried all kinds things, even creating a new file and copying everything over. The bug happens again and again – and it's unpredictable, sometimes it's just one element, sometimes it's half of all the content.

    Working with Version 29.8.1, the file is in large format mode, Mac OS 25 (latest). Not saving on a cloud synced folder.

    We have been able to see this issue at our end. Thanks Dan Mason for the observations. It helped narrowing this down. We are working on fixing this quickly.

    The issue happens for us after setting ruler's origin to one of the artboard's starting edge.

    If anyone has any other observations or scenarios, do share.

  10. Illustrator crashes using copy command

    Everytime I use the copy shortcut or from the edit drop down, Illustrator crashes. I'm on Windows 11. It just started today.

  11. Images disappear or become corrupted after drag and drop on Mac

    Illustrator 29.4
    Drag and drop from a Browser to an Artboard
    Use Cmd Shift 4 and drag a screendump to an artboard
    Drag and Drop from Photoshop a layer with transparency to an Illustrator artboard.

    Saving and opening the Illustrator file makes it disappear or gives some distorted lines.

  12. Object appearance defaults when selecting new colors (white fill, black stroke)

    When selecting a new color swatch value from the menu (see image) often times when the document has first been opened or an object has not been selected during this session, any selected objects revert to the default appearance - 1 pt outline, black stroke, white fill - regardless of what they were before. Then you have to undo what happened and try again to apply your changes. It's a minor inconvenience, but it only showed up in the last 3 updates. A clean install doesn't fix this issue.   13. Image Map URL Links Disappear in PDF Export

    Issue occurs in Illustrator 2025 (29.6) and later versions

    Description:
    URL links configured through the Attributes panel’s Image Map feature are not preserved in exported PDFs, despite enabling the “Preserve Hyperlinks” option in PDF export settings.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Create a new document
    2. Create an object (e.g., rectangle, text, etc.)
    3. Select the object and enter a URL in the Attributes panel → Image Map
    4. Create a new layer above the current layer
    5. Export as PDF with “Preserve Hyperlinks” enabled in export settings
    6. Open the exported PDF in Adobe Acrobat

  14. PDF/X-4で書き出す際にダウンサンプルされる

    macOS14.7.2/Imac27inch i5/32GB mem/1TB ssd
    Illustrator ver29.5

    再現手順
    1.800ppiのモノクロ2開帳の画像をドキュメントに原寸で配置する。
    2.ファイル→コピーを保存を実行、PDF形式を選択し次のダイアログでプリセット「PDF/X-4:2008（日本）」を選択して保存する。
    3.PDFを開いて配置した画像を調べると300ppiにダウンサンプルされている。

    期待する結果
    800ppiのままダウンサンプルされずに保存される。

    実際の結果
    配置したビットマップ画像は300ppiにダウンサンプルされる。

    このプリセットでは実行解像度が1800ppiを超えた際に1200ppiにダウンサンプルされるように設定されている。配置状態で800ppiの画像はダウンサンプルの条件に当てはまらない為ダウンサンプルされてはいけない。
    また、300ppiという数値はモノクロビットマップ画像を取り扱うには致命的に低い解像度と言える。

    回避方法
    ビルトインのPDF/X-4プリセットは利用せず、同等のプリセットを自身で作成して利用する。その他、プリプレス関連メーカーが配布するPDF/X-4プリセットを利用しても良い。

    2. Select File→Save a copy, choose PDF format, and in the next dialog, select the preset "PDF/X-4:2008 (日本)" and save the file.

  15. Swatches disappear in Swatches panel when switching between documents

    I've got two documents open. An RGB one, and a CMYK one. When I CMD+TAB between the two, all the current swatches disappear. I have to click on a different 'view swatches' button to make them appear. This happens EVERY TIME. I just updated to the latest version of Illustrator thinking it would fix it, but it doesn't.

  16. Em dash incorrectly rotates upright in vertical text layout

    Illustrator 2025 (29.8.1) (29.8.2) Japanese

    Em dashes are Latin characters, so in vertical text layout they should be rotated sideways like other alphanumeric characters.
    However, in v29.8.2, Em dashes are rotated upright like Japanese characters. This is clearly a bug.

    EMダッシュは欧文の文字なので、縦組みでは他の英数字を同じく横倒しになります。
    しかし、v29.8.2では、和文の文字のように正立回転してしまいます。これは明らかにバグです。

  17. Font styles applied to portions of text 'slide' / shift positions when area type overflows

    Illustrator 29.7.1 on Mac Ventura 13.5.2 (22G91)

    I dont' know whether it's related to this current issue, but now I have parts of my text that change appearance when I'm trying to change the Font weight of another part, or when I try to type more text.

    The workaround I have found it copy-pasting the text into a new Textbox. But still, this needs to be fixed.

  18. PDF export without color conversion converts RGB images to CMYK

    This is a bug that occurs in Illustrator 2025 (29.2.1) and later.

    When an RGB image is placed as a linked file in a CMYK document, it gets converted to CMYK upon PDF export, even if "No Color Conversion" is selected. In Illustrator 2025 (29.2.0) and earlier, the image remained in RGB.

    This bug affects only PNG and JPG files. Other formats, such as PSD, remain in RGB.

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Create a new CMYK document.
    2. Place an RGB image (PNG or JPG) as a linked file (do not embed).
    3. Export the document as a PDF with "No Color Conversion"…

  19. Keyboard shortcuts for text formatting (kerning, tracking, leading, font size) no longer work in Illustrator 29.7.1

    This feature just stopped working. Please fix.

    These also don't work:

    Increase or decrease leading: Option + Up or Down Arrow (horizontal text) or Right or Left Arrow (vertical text)

    Increase or decrease kerning and tracking: Option + Right or Left Arrow (horizontal text) or Up or Down Arrow (vertical text)

  20. Creating and/or Entering Opacity Mask doesn’t work from Properties / Control panels

    When clicking on the Opacity popu-up panel (in Control or Properties) and then clicking on the mask thumbnail to activate that mode, the thumbnail highlights but as soon as I attempt to edit the contents of the mask, it shows that the mode is not activated. Only if I select the 'Clip' checkbox in the Opacity panel will it allow me to edit the mask. But then clicking the 'Object' thumbnail in the Opacity panel, similarly does not exit mask-editing mode. I have to uncheck the 'Clip' checkbox to get back to normal mode. Previously, simply clicking on each thumbnail…
