KERNING ON EXTENDED SELECTIONS... My kerning worked just fine about an hour ago, but now every time I try to add a custom kerning value it gives me the warning: Kerning on extended selections can only be set to Auto or 0.
I can't seem to get this to go away.
I uninstalled & reinstalled Illustrator and it is still happening.
I tried many fonts of different types, and it still won't work.-Chris

Alt-Drag to Duplicate (and Shift to align) Only Works Intermittently Duplicating objects in Illustrator CC 2017 only works on occasion, it is not consistent as it was in previous versions. Holding Shift to align while dragging and duplicating also doesn't work. These were both key features of Illustrator and if there is a way to fix this problem I would be very interested to know how!

Transparency lost in Image Trace Transparency of .png images is lost if using the image trace option. So my already transparent picture now has a white background if I use image trace, unless I use sketched art which does not provide the look I want. All the options should be transparent, especially if the original file is already.

Snap to Point causes jumping with long Guides I'm using very long guides to create a custom angled grid, and use Snap to Point to snap paths to intersections of those guides. However, sometimes the Snap to Point causes "jumping", i.e. it tries to snap to the intersection, but when it does, it scrolls the document a tad upwards, and hence goes immediately out of snap. Sometimes it even causes jumps of hundreds of millimeters. It doesn't always happens, but only with some guides intersecting in some points. I cannot really say what actually makes it happen.

Swatch border line problem. AI 21.1.0 (64bit) Windows 10, macOS Sierra
When I apply custom bitmap swatch at object, unexpected border line display (it occurrs even in default vector swatch).

100% black will not output to film as 100% Came across this same issue now using CC 2017 but was able to isolate it. Customer file in CMYK color space, black at 100% nothing in the document except a 100% black rectangle. Illustrator reports 100% black but when output to film black is approximately 80%. Copying the entire content to a new document the output is at 100%. Using the original document and changing the color panel to grey scale black is 100%. Changing back to CMYK black is also 100% black. Placing the file into another dicument also produces 100% black. The latest file was created in CS6…

AIGPUSNIFFER doesn't quit Version 21.1.0
When quitting illustrator the AIGPUSNIFFER process continues to run, even though it should terminate, unless the task is manually ended in task manager. This is a huge issue considering it puts CPU usage at a high level which consequently affects battery life.

Illustrator shows paths with extremely many points incorrect, without showing a warning to user Sometimes EPS files I want to open in Illustrator contain paths with many many points. When opening in Illustrator no warning is shown, but polygons are not shown correctly as the fill color is disappeared (and the polygon path seems to be broken/not closed anymore). Is the limit 32.000 points? If so: please enlarge this amount OR show a warning when opening a file: now users cannot trust your Illustrator here.

Increase size of anchor points / handles Anchor points and handles are hard to grab.
On denser displays the problem is amplified.

Calculation in New Document does not work correctly I tried 300/4, which resulted in 0.04. Should be 75.

Black shapes when trying to group things When I try to group text objects and lines, the screen gets black shapes that come up. It happens every time, and even if I close the file and reopen it, it continues to happen.

Rotate tool Alt click and Wacom tablet Hey :)
I use illustrator CC 2017.I use my Wacom intuos for almost everything since it is easier and I am comfortable to it than using mouse.
I use Rotate tool to copy objects in circle with a center point.( Select Rotate tool, Hold Alt and click to choose the center of the object) .
When I use wacom tablet to achieve this, the Center point keeps floating with the mouse pointer. I have to use my mouse to click to set a center point.

With "Snap to Point" on, the cursor doesn't change colour to indicate a snap to anchor will occur I just switched to AI 2017 from AI 2015 and i'm noticing this straight away. In preview mode and artwork modes. Turning on Smart Guides helps in some situations but in other cases it fails to identify a Snap when an anchor is around. Snap to Point should work independently of Smart Guides anyhow.

Demo version of Illustrator crashes constantly, destroying files. Illustrator CC 21.1.0 (trial), MacBook Pro13,3 (15" with touch bar), macOS Sierra 10.12.3. It seems to happen mostly when editing colors or character/paragraph styles, but honestly it's hard to say, because it's seemingly random. I'd be happy to attach a copy of the file I was working on, but every version is gone now, even ones that were saved between crashes with different file names. You should have several crash reports via Apple, I hope. I can also upload console logs if needed, but I didn't find a folder for Illustrator.

TIFF's generate Color Management Error in MacOS High Sierra. When in macOS Sierra I can drag or import any TIFF without any issues or errors. My colors on screen are rich and vibrant and darker.
When in MacOS High Sierra I do the same thing I get a Color Management Error, and all my colors are faded and lighter.

Bounding box is incorrectly displayed on multiple highdpi displays When using multiple monitors with different Hi-DPI settings on Windows OS, the bounding box for the selected item is sometimes displayed incorrectly.
I work on a dual display setup: my primary monitor is a 15.6inch 4K display @ 200% DPI scaling settings, and my second monitor is 24inch 2560*1440 display @ 125% DPI scaling.
When working on a larger second monitor, the bounding box for a selected item is displayed at an incorrect position, which makes the work very difficult.4 votes -
Keyboard dosent register shortcut In Adobe InDesign and Photoshop you can assign any key on international keyboards to any function.
Illustrator do not recognise interntional keyboards. You may register but it wont work.
What a shame since it's the oldest app in the family.2 votes
