1. AI files with 'Create PDF Compatible File' show missing artwork when opened in PDF viewers (Illustrator 2026, Windows 10)

   After updating to Illustrator 2026 for Windows, AI files saved with the "Create PDF Compatible File" option turn out to be incomplete sometimes when opened in any PDF viewer, with missing parts in both raster images and vector artwork. Saving the file several times often fixes the problem, but the only reliable workaround is to save the document as a PDF with the "Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities" option enabled, instead of saving it as an AI file.

2. Illustrator changing font weights when opening in different operating systems

   When saving a file in one system and opening in another (MacOS 15.7.7 to Windows 11 Pro 25H2, and vice versa), Illustrator doesn't apply the right weight that was used when the file was saved. For example, it applies the text in bold, when it was saved in light.

   Also, when linking the same file in a InDesign document, the preview has a different appearance.

   The font family I'm using is IBM Plex Sans, downloaded from Google Fonts.

   Both on Illustrator 30.8.1 and InDesign 21.5.1.

4. アプリケーションフレームのバグ

   アプリケーションフレームをチェックを入れて作業し、ファインダのウィンドウクリックしたのち、イラレを触るとファインダの後ろにイラレのウィンドウが隠れてしまう。

6. Can’t close shapes with Pen tool

   When using the Pen tool and creating a shape, it doesn't want to close the creation. I have to deselect the item, then reselect it from a different plot point, so I can complete it.

7. Color Swatches assigned to type changed after closing the file

   Upon opening a file, many of the colors I had assigned to type elements were randomly changed to other colors from my swatches palette. It was not consistent which colors changed to what; some were spot Pantone color swatches, others were global CMYK swatches. This has happened a couple times to me and my team, starting within the last six months; the first couple times it was only one or two elements of my artwork that would change, and they would change to Black. The most recent event it was over 20 instances of type that changed, and changed to all different colors. See attached file for how the file was originally saved, vs how it re-opened. It was only live type elements that changed colors; no raster images or vector graphics changed.

   Adobe team, please tell me what is going on and how it can be fixed.

9. Bounding box center markers disappear when dragging a guide.

   I'm trying to position a guide over the center of a vector object. However when I grab the guide from the ruler, the bounding box center markers disappear making the task impossible. This wasn't always the case but I don't know when it changed. The bounding box stays intact but the horizontal and vertical center boxes disappear when I pick up the guide.

11. Freeform Gradients in cloud files become invisible

    The Gradients function has a bug with files uploaded to the cloud. It looks like an empty object.
    I had to create a new local file to look if the problem was the gradient tool or just with the cloud files, and there is when I realized that the Gradient tool was working well. What I had to do is to copy the "empty" rectangle to see if I can copy the color values in the local file with the Eyedropper Tool and then copy the local file rectangle to the cloud one. But to avoid that to happened again I started working with the local file instead of the one in the cloud. I work with PC and with laptop, not a big deal but so just to not lose the values I had before between pc and laptop...

13. Keeps not showing parts of my artwork.

    I open a file, everything is fine, i start moving things around and suddenly parts of the artwork just disappear or they loose colour, when you move the cursor over it it shows that the shape is there but will not allow you to colour it move it or do anything with it. I thought it might have been a one-time thing, but it's happened for the past 3 days in a row on several different files.

14. Typing a new font size for a dimension in Properties moves the text caret at the first position after entering the first digit

    After annotating the graphic dimensions, when changing the annotation font size, focusing the input box and entering 50 results in the number 05, which is incorrect.

We request optimization on overall memory consumption, including per-software memory footprint, memory usage when creating a new artboard, memory usage for text-only artboards, and general performance improvements.

    実際の結果: 「間隔」の値が拡大・縮小に連動しないため、変形前の見た目のバランスを保ったまま拡大・縮小できない

    期待された結果:

    回避方法:
    パス上オブジェクトを「拡張」する

    補足事項:
    ・30.8.1で確認

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Create an Object on Path with two or more objects placed along the path.
    2. Drag the widget to reduce the Spacing.
    3. Scale the Object on Path up or down using any method, such as dragging the bounding box or using the Scale tool.

    Actual Result:
    The Spacing value does not change when the Object on Path is scaled, resulting in a loss of the original visual balance.

    Expected Result:
    The Object on Path should scale while maintaining its original visual balance.

    Workaround:
    Expand the Object on Path.

    Additional Information:

    • Confirmed in Illustrator 30.8.1.
    • This issue does not occur when Spacing is at its maximum value (the value immediately after creating the Object on Path).
    • Turning Scale Strokes & Effects or Real-Time Drawing and Editing on or off does not affect the behavior.
    • The same result occurs when other objects are selected together and the Object on Path is scaled.

    This behavior can easily go unnoticed when resizing an entire layout, potentially leading to unintended production errors.
    Even after editing Spacing, the Object on Path should be scalable while maintaining its visual balance.

19. Illustrator 30.8: ExtendScript debugger cannot attach — ESTK endpoint never responds

    Summary

    In Illustrator 30.8.0, the Adobe ExtendScript Debugger extension for VS Code (v2.1.0) can no longer attach to or launch scripts. Rolling back to 30.7.0 fixes it completely, with no other change to VS Code, the extension, or the launch configuration — so this is a regression introduced between 30.7 and 30.8.

    The failure is narrow and specific: in 30.8, Illustrator's ExtendScript debug (#estk) channel accepts the debugger's <connect/> handshake but never sends any response. The message is delivered successfully — the core library returns status: 0 with a valid serial number — and then nothing comes back, indefinitely.

    In 30.7 the identical request returns the engine list in ~600ms.

    Everything else about Illustrator scripting is healthy in 30.8:

    • Scripts run normally from File > Scripts and via AppleScript do javascript.
    • Illustrator answers ordinary BridgeTalk messages in well under a second.
    • ScriptingSupport.aip is loaded, and the debug API is still present in the binary.

    Only the debugger's channel is dead.

    All probes below were run through the extension's own native core (esdebugger-core/mac/esdcorelibinterface.node, from ExtendScript Debugger 2.1.0), loaded into VS Code's Electron runtime and driven with the same esdSendDebugMessage / esdPumpSession calls the extension itself makes. This removes VS Code, launch configurations, and the extension UI from the picture entirely.

    So the debugger core, the native module, and the host-side protocol all work on this machine — just not with Illustrator 30.8.

    3. Application discovery is not the problem

    Under both 30.7 and 30.8 the core reports Illustrator as installed and running, under the same specifier:

    BridgeTalk.appSpecifier, queried from inside Illustrator, returns illustrator-30.064 in both versions. The specifier does not change across the 30.x line.

    4. Illustrator's ordinary BridgeTalk messaging is fine in 30.8

    A full BridgeTalk round-trip sent from InDesign to Illustrator 30.8 succeeds normally:

    Illustrator is reachable and responsive on the normal messaging channel. Only the debug channel is silent. (Round-trip latency rises to 8–18s when Illustrator is backgrounded, which appears to be ordinary background throttling and is not the cause — the debug channel returns nothing even with Illustrator frontmost.)

    5. The ExtendScript engine is identical to InDesign's

    Not an engine-version mismatch between app and debugger.

    6. The debug API is still present in Illustrator 30.8's binary

    AdobeExtendScript.framework inside Illustrator 30.8 still exports the full debug surface — ScScript::DebugAPI::command, setBreakpoints, getStackTrace, getContextInfo, debugBreak, enterDebugMode / leaveDebugMode, and others. Illustrator exports more debug symbols than InDesign (60 vs 35).

    ScriptingSupport.aip is present and confirmed loaded into the running process:

    The capability is compiled in and loaded; it simply does not answer.

    7. Not a "no active engine" condition

    The handshake was repeated while a script was actively executing inside Illustrator 30.8 (a 25-second $.sleep), in case the debug endpoint only materialises alongside a live engine:

    Impact

    In 30.8, ExtendScript debugging is completely unavailable — no breakpoints, no stepping, no variable inspection, no watch expressions. For anyone maintaining non-trivial Illustrator scripts this removes the only real debugging tool, leaving $.writeln logging and alert-based tracing as the only options.

    The Adobe ExtendScript Debugger is the officially supported successor to the ExtendScript Toolkit, so there is no alternative debugger to fall back on.

    Workaround

    Roll back to Illustrator 30.7 (Creative Cloud → Other Versions).

    Summary

    In Illustrator 30.8.0, the Adobe ExtendScript Debugger extension for VS Code (v2.1.0) can no longer attach to or launch scripts. Rolling back to 30.7.0 fixes it completely, with no other change to VS Code, the extension, or the launch configuration — so this is a regression introduced between 30.7 and 30.8.

20. テキストボックスのリンク　　テキストの内容が重複するエラーが起きる

    Adobe Illustrator 30.8.1で同様の現象が発生しています。

    日本語の縦書きで、エリア内文字のテキストボックス同士をリンクして使用しています。

    作成直後は正常に文章が次のテキストボックスへ流れていますが、編集作業や保存を続けていると、1つ目のテキストボックスの内容が2つ目のリンク先テキストボックスに重複して表示されることがあります。

    重複した文章によって、本来2つ目に入っていた文章が後ろへ押し出され、オーバーフローも発生します。

    制作途中では正常に見えていても、編集・保存後に突然文章が重複するため、印刷物などの実制作では非常に危険な不具合です。

    縦書き
    エリア内文字
    テキストボックスをスレッドでリンク
    通常の編集・保存作業中に発生

    添付画像では、上段の文章が下段のリンク先テキストボックスにも重複して表示されています。
