2. Data integrity bug: Illustrator 30.3 changes CMYK swatch values after pasting clipboard bitmap image and reopening file

   Version tested: 30.3
   Document color mode: CMYK
   Issue type: Data integrity / color swatch value corruption

   Summary:
   Adobe Illustrator 30.3 reproducibly changes CMYK swatch values after a bitmap image from the system clipboard is pasted into a CMYK document. The issue appears after saving, closing, and reopening the .ai file.

   Steps to reproduce:

   1. Create a new CMYK document in Illustrator 30.3.
   2. Create a CMYK swatch, for example C10 M10 Y10 K0.
   3. Paste any bitmap screenshot/image from the system clipboard into the document.
   4. Save the .ai file.
   5. Close the file.
   6. Reopen the file.
   7. Check the CMYK swatch value.

   Actual result:
   The CMYK swatch value changes from C10 M10 Y10 K0 to approximately C9.77 M9.77 Y9.77 K0 after reopening the file.

   Expected result:
   The CMYK swatch value should remain exactly C10 M10 Y10 K0. Pasting a bitmap image from the system clipboard should not modify existing CMYK swatch definitions.

   Additional observations:

   • The issue is reproducible in Illustrator 30.3.
   • The issue is specifically triggered by bitmap images pasted from the system clipboard.
   • If no clipboard bitmap image is pasted, the CMYK swatch value does not change.
   • CMYK values such as 0%, 50%, and 100% do not appear to change.
   • Values such as 10% change to approximately 9.77%, which suggests a possible unintended 8-bit quantization or percentage remapping.
   • This is not just a display issue. The saved file reopens with changed CMYK swatch values.

   Impact:
   This is a serious print/prepress data integrity issue. It can silently alter exact CMYK swatch values, brand colors, and production colors in saved Illustrator files.

3. Envelope distort: Changing warp option keeps previous selection

   I just updated to 30.5.1 yesterday and went to make a checkerboard flag. I made the checkerboard as a compound path and chose Envelope Distort from the Object menu. The initial selection was Bulge, which distorted my flat flag into a bulging flag. I then selected flag and it added the flag mesh on top of the bulge mesh..

   I tried selecteing other warp options and each one I picked, was added to the flag. Mind you, I have NOT selected OK. I'm just flipping through the warp options.

   I then selected cancel, but all the envelope distortions were applied. I then had to undo for each of the options that I flipped through in the Envelope Distort window.

5. Illustrator 30.5.1 started freezing

   Since most recent update, Illustrator keeps freezing for no explainable reason. There is no pattern to the freeze, but need to force quit to move forward. Auto save is not saving to the same point. Very frustrating.

6. Change to Global Rulers grayed out.

   For some reason 'Change to Global Rulers' is grayed out. Using that for years, for preparing art for Cinema4d, but in this version, suddenly I am not able to switch.

7. Naming a layer "Unnamed" bug

   To duplicate, simply create a layer and call it "Unnamed" (case-sensitive). On my PC, whenever I do this, the Measure tool breaks and the app starts throwing UIDu and NOKY errors. Unless the devs can patch this, remember to add "Unnamed" to your "never use this keyword" list.

8. Illustrator asks for permission to access data from other apps

   Every time Illustrator is launched, it triggers a dialog asking for "permission to access data from other apps" that requires a click to continue working. Every time! This is nuts. Granting this permission once should be enough.

10. Editable Type isn't scaling correctly, even at 10% scale

    I am creating a sign in 1-1 scale. When scaling down to fit on a proof page. the Type isn't scaling down correctly.
    The image shows an outline text overlayed on top of the editable text, then selecting all and scaling down to 10%.
    You can see how the live text is not the same as the outline text.
    Never had this issue until the recent update (30.6)

11. Can't click on generate vectors, overlay ui get's on the way and it's unclosable.

    I was trying to generate vectors on illustrator, but a UI element with a suggestion appear, and looks like it's unclosable. And get's on the way to interact with the control to generate vectors.

12. Can’t move or transform a selected image

    When I am selecting an image, I get a bounding box but then I can't move or transform the image at all. It acts like it is locked, but it isn't locked.

13. Hidden Characters remain visible when exporting in PNG

    Windows 11 Pro Version 25H2

    I work with Hidden Characters on, and when I export a PNG (export for Screens), they remain visible. Hidden Characters aren't supposed to remain visible after a PNG export. The only way that I could resolve the issue is to turn them off. But when I try to disable hidden characters, it looks like they are already off (even though I can still see them), and I have to turn them on, then off again, to make sure they are completely disabled.

14. Turntable access bug

    Turntable previously worked for me, and has now stopped allowing me access with an upgrade message.

    I have confirmed with support my subscription level should include turntable and I have full generative credits left for this month (although they did try to blame that and I had to wait for credits to renew before proving it wasn't the issue).

    Yet clicking turntable from illustrator results in the error message:

    "Upgrade to generate
    You don't have enough standard feature credits or need premium feature access for this generative action.
    Upgrade your Firefly plan now to continue after in-app payment
    Cancel
    * Upgrade"

    I am using illustrator 2026 version 30.5.1 on Mac Studio M1 Max running Tahoe 26.5.1 in Australia with Creative Cloud All Apps subscription.

15. Freeform Gradient stops vanish, can’t be placed or edited

    When trying to "edit gradient" in the Freeform Gradient tool I found that the handles disappear/glitch and don't allow me to place or change any of the values. I have tried in both positions (the top toolbar and right-side menus) but both times, even upon a restart and reset of performance, that the handles are not responding at all. I also cannot add stops in the tool window, I can only change the (new) "Method" dropdown box, which, in either setting, does not fix anything.

    I am on the latest version of illustrator (30.5.1) on Desktop Mac.

16. Blend easing not working properly on overlapping shapes

    Whenever I create a blend with overlapping shapes, the easing does not work. The slider is active, but moving it does nothing. Easing does work when I create a blend without overlapping. And while I can start the blend without overlap and then move the smaller shape over the larger shape, the easing warps the lines instead of adjusting spacing.

17. Selecting several objects at once in Layers is broken

    As documented in other reports, this remains broken. It may work ONCE, based on no discernible pattern, but never again in dozens of tries.

    This afflicts both platforms.

19. COMMAND F (PASTE IN PLACE) NOT WORKING!!!

    paste in place is not working all of a sudden. Command F acts like command V. It just pastes randomly. Even selecting paste in place from the menu doesn't work. This is incredibly annoying and the enemy of precision. PLEASE RESTORE!!!!
