1. Artboard selection bugs in Illustrator CC 2018

   There are a number of bugs related to Illustrator CC 2018 losing artboard selection (no highlight in the artboard list in the artboard panel), and losing sync between actual artboard selection and displayed (highlighted) selection. These include:

   When copying an artboard by dragging and dropping it onto the New Artboard icon in the Artboard panel, and then dragging that new artboard to a new position in the artboard list, the selection is displayed on the new artboard in its new location, but in fact, the original artboard is still selected. Double-clicking on the new artboard does NOT move selection to it, and does not cause it to 'fit to screen'.

   Once you are in this situation, clicking within any artboard in the main work area does not cause that artboard to become selected, and does not move the highlight in the artboard list. Clicking the artboard navigation arrows on the lower left DOES cause the highlight to reappear and accurately show the selected artboard; however, having to click 'forward ' and then 'back' after each artboard drag and drop just to get artboard highlights in the list to work is ridiculous.

   I use Illustrator professionally for UX design. My workflow is most often to create a screen, and then copy it and modify the copy to show the next step in the user's workflow. The 2018 upgrade is pretty much unusable because of these bugs. I just reinstalled Illustrator CC 2017 so I can continue to work.

2. Drawing Tablet not working properly after update

   Since the 2018 update my drawing tablet that works properly with every other program on my system not requires me to press down abnormally hard to do anything at all in Illustrator. This is killing my work flow and I regret updating.

3. Can't Delete Empty Artboards

   I can no longer "delete empty artboards." The feature is there and not grayed out, but when I try to use it, it simply does nothing. My empty artboards remain. This is very inconvenient as I sometimes need to alter documents with several artboards and I have found it to be extremely helpful in the past.

4. Type properties panel bug

   Every time when changing a text's properties and deselecting it the text is reverted to size 12. Also when a different colour is applied to part of the text and deselecting it, the colour is applied to the whole text. The situation is the same with different font styles - setting part of the text in bold will result that everything is changed to bold when deselected. It happens every time.

5. different line thickness for rotated and unroted objects

   I combined 2 horizontal bars with one vertical bar in the middle, resembling the Latin 'I'. Bar thickness was 7pix. In fields of many of these objects the unrotated I's look like having thicker bars compared to the rotated, there the bars are slim. Aliasing errors?

6. Bitmaps not coping over from Ai to Xd in version 2018, had to revert to 2017.

   Fix version 2018 to also copy bitmaps with vector art in Ai and past it directly in Xd, as with version 2017.

7. Input boxes handle keypresses inconsistently

   This is an intermittent bug.

   When typing in input boxes I find that performance can be inconsistent. Sometimes, the cursor will jump to the end of the string inside the box, so I end up appending after the unit (e.g. "406 px+7"), which then errors.

   Another example is the input box just not inserting characters at all. It seems especially prone to missing arithmetic characters such as + or - or /. For example, I meant to type "300+100 px" but instead it ignores the plus and displays "300100 px", which then error because it's too big.

   I've attached a gif of some of the behaviour, but it's hard to catch the error when I'm recording the screen, so couldn't display the missing character case.

8. Renaming an artboard deletes the original name

   in previus version Illustrator if i need to rename artboard without deleting original name, i press in text field of artboard. In new version pressing on this field comes to delete original name

9. It does not highlight the page on the artboard window

   I select a page from the artboard window. I navigate between pages with PageUp and PageDown on the keyboard.

   I'm looking at the artboard window. but I do not see which page I am on. it does not highlight the page.

   This problem came with the latest update. (Ullustrator version 22.0.0)

10. Dual Screen - Prompt window display on the wrong screen - Mac

13. Illustrator 2018 Loses ability to keep text uniform when transforming the type on path

    Illustrator 2017 had the ability to, while transforming the type on the path shape, to keep the text on it the same size and proportions when doing so. I would select the path with direct selection tool, then hit command, and text would stay uniform when transforming path.

    Now, in illustrator 2018, using same steps and command, type doesn't stay uniform, it gets squished.

    Notice how type gets distorted when moving bounding box in 2018, but I was able to make it stay proportionate in 2017.

14. Export As... in Actions Panel doesn't show dialog even if " show dialog" toggle is selected.

15. Dell Canvas Pen Dysfunction

    I've had pretty consistent issues getting the Dell Canvas and Illustrator to play nice with each other, and it's gotten totally out of control with version 2018. Although some pen functionality has improved, there's one bizarre roadblock... there's a good 7 second delay when selecting objects with the selection tool (which can be cut short by moving the mouse). Using my finger directly on the touch screen works fine, but the pen is almost unusable for this reason.

16. Text lost when updating text of old version

    Illustrator CC 2018.(No problem before 2017)
    Updated text disappears when opening a file of old data such as version 10 or lower by a specific operation and updating the text portion.

    ・Prepare and open files of version 10 or lower
    ・To confirm whether to update the legacy text on the warning screen, click [OK] to not update
    ・Save immediately
    ・Open the saved file
    ・Click on the legacy text part with the mouse
    ・On the warning screen, click [Update]
    → The text that should have been updated disappears

18. Brush Pressure exceeds set size/variation

    When drawing with the brush in CC 2018, the brush size of the stroke can exceed the set size and variation. For instance, If I have a brush size of 3 and variation 3, when drawing pressing very hard, the stroke size will go above 3 pts. in CC 2017 the brush stroke was limited to brush size.

    Hi, all.

    As per the investigation done by the engineering team, the issue is not a bug, but an expected scenario.

    Variation means that it should go both above and below the set size.

    So a 3pt stroke with 3pt variation will draw from 0 to 6 pt. Kindly reach out to us incase you have any queries.

19. DELL Canvas /drawing issue

    Can't use the pencil /brush in Illu cc2018 in order to paint on the DELL Canvas27. Nothing happens drawing on it, with mouse it works like it should! In 2017 no problems ... I got the win 10 fall creators update with the following patch btw...

20. Export Artboards "Name" Error

    I exported first one Artboard of 2 or 3 in the beginnning of a design process, the changed the names in the end of all 3 artboards to the projectname. The first artboard still kept the original name ("artboard 01" or else) so i had to rename by hand this file. Pretty weird.
