  1. App crashes very often and linked graphics lose their link connection

    macOS Catalina 10.15.7
    Since upgraded to Catalina Illustrator crashes very often (approximately 4-5 times in 6 hours of a working session ) and recovery files' linked graphics lose their connection to the root files even though they were embedded. Every single recovery file' links should be relinked one by one again and again. I've relinked the attached file links 4 times so far. Please find an immediate solution to this issue.

  2. Crashing

    Since I updated 20 2021, I have has slow sluggish response and for no reason at all the program locks up and then crashes. Unfortunately I have to recreate all the art that I spent hours working on. Very Frustrated!

  3. Resizing rotated rectangle using selection tool drags wrong side

    If I use the rectangle tool to create a square/rectangle, rotate it (for example, 45 degrees), then try to resize using the selection tool, it resizes the wrong side. For example, if I drag the bottom left side, it moves the bottom right side.

    I've included a screen record demonstrating the issue.

    Operating system is Mac, Mojave, 10.14.6

    Illustrator version is 25.0.1 (though this bug has been noticed in older versions)

  4. Can no longer create new file from scratch

    Illustrator v 25.0 desktop on PC won't let me create new files from scratch or with preset details. It's forcing me to download templates to work from.

    Illustrator v 25.0 desktop on iMac works fine.

  5. Lock object function not available

    When I try to lock an object to an artboard, nothing happens. I've tried using the hot key and accessing it via 'Object' on the menu bar and it's greyed out

  6. Opening all my old files are blank

    When I open old logos and images I have created they are just opening as blank white canvases. Example file attached.

  7. 別のアプリをアクティブにしてIllustratorに戻ってきたときの挙動について

    windows10 pro
    Illustrator 25.0(64bit)

    1.Illustratorで作業をしています。
    2.データを確認するため別のアプリに切り替えます。（デスクトップ、Firefox、Excel、Photoshopなど）
    3.Illustratorに切り替えます。
    4.30秒程度「応答なし」で待たされます。
    5.4.は必要ないので大変イライラします。

    以前はこんなことはなかったのですが、2019あたりから起こるようになった気がします。（はっきり覚えていません）2021で改善されていなかったので投稿しました。

    また、「非表示のレイヤを表示する」→「pngで書き出す」→「表示されたレイヤを非表示に戻す」という一連の操作をJavascriptで書いて使っているのですが、このスクリプトを使ったときも同様に、１枚毎に「応答なし」が起きて時間がとてもかかるようになってしまい、困っています。

  8. New Recolor Artwork information link not working

    In the new Recolor artwork 2021 panel the info button in the lower left jumps to a link that is not working currently. It was working for me before, but in the past few days it's failed:

  9. Typing now takes an hour

    Holy ****. Trying to make a type page of my new fonts that I just purchased. First time using AI since the last update. I feel like I was rendering a 100 gig file verses just trying to use the type tool. Don't even get me started on letter spacing, that was a whole other challenge.

    When something that should take seconds is now taking multiple minutes with Illustrator constantly freezing or going to a not responding white screen for TYPE.........TYPE! REALLY?

    I7 8th gen chip, NIvida Force graphics card with 4 gigs. 32 Gigs of HDDR ram. You can't…

  10. Illustrator crashes when monitor goes to sleep and other

    Illustrator crashes when monitor goes to sleep. The program used to run in the 19.0 and the first 20 version in addition to all the versions before that when the computer monitor went to sleep. When the monitor was awoken your work would still be there. With the new updates, this is no longer happens and a crash report is not given. Also when creating a board size in the latest version of illustrator you cannot highlight all of the current dimensions and delete them to put in your custom dimensions like you have been able to in the past.…

  11. .aic cloud document recovery fails without warning.

    When Illustrator crashed while I was working on an .aic cloud document, I lost a day's worth of work even though the settings are set to auto save every 5 minutes. This has worked before with no problem but this time there was no autosave recovery when restarting and no temp files in %appdata% either.
    Granted I was careless and forgot to manually save, however at no point was there any indication from the software that auto save was not functioning. Maybe displaying a warning of some kind when this feature is not working would help.

  12. Global swatches unlinking from grayscale gradient

    I'm on a Mac Pro using Mojave version 10.14.6
    Using Illustrator 2020 & 2021, both updated to latest iterations.

    I have a gradient one piece object, I turn a copy of it grayscale through the Edit Color feature > convert to grayscale, I extract the grays generated and ensure global swatches is on to keep swatches linked. Each of this swatch I rename to a specific designation. I used this grayscale gradient and use it as an opacity mask, this serves as a density mask that allows me to control the opacity of each section of the color gradient separately.…

  13. Reflect Across Vertical Axis does not account for Variable Stroke

    I was making a vector in Adobe Illustrator using Variable Stroke. I wanted to make a mirrored copy of my original left-facing drawing to have a right-facing character. But when I mirrored it, the Variable Stroke did not match the original.
    Attached is what I was working on, also labeling the three areas where the issue is most obvious. Note how the stroke thickness is not identical.

  14. Normal "Save" operation in recording Actions becomes a "Save as" operation

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 2004, Illustrator version 25

    When you create a new action and use "Save" it becomes a "Save As" where it displays a path.

    My scenario: I often have to re-save a batch-exported pdf again with normal "Save" so that all text is converted to paths for a print house via custom shortcut F12.

    Because during batching there is no option do convert the text.
    So I need a second run with recorded actions:

    • select all
    • convert all text to path (outlines)
    • save
    • close

    The normal save operation is required so this can work with any file…

  15. Everytime new temp file saved

    using dell i3 whenever m saving file during working eveytime new temp file by name (~ai-d07c4c4b-3cab-4d58-8cad-3d0dfda6fc08) gets saved instread of original file pls fix this problem

  16. Expand path twith rounded ends to shape not working

    In Illustrator 25.0 a path with rounded ends will no longer turn into the equivalent shape. Instead, one end will be squared off, rendering the function useless.

    CC2021 is just so full of bugs right now, I'm currently downgrading to 2020 again. So sad, as the old, orange man would say.

  17. (Slow) and not responding

    Hi!

    For the moment, I am unable to work on Illustrator. It worked fine earlier this week (even with a few unexpected crashes or slow moment).

    On a preexisting file or a brand new one, it is slow (zooming in or out for example takes seconds) if not just not responding at all: trying to move an element gives me a black window for a few sec' with a Not Responding state before I can see again and nothing has moved.

    I tried on v.25.0 and v.24.3 (from Windows 10).

    Maybe the issue comes from the computer, or Windows ? …

  18. PROBLEME A L'OUVERTURE

    Bonjour,
    Depuis de nombreuses semaines il m'est demandé à chaque ouverture de rentrer mon identifiant et mon mot de passe.
    C'est insupportable !
    J'ai fait toutes les demandes afin que ce problème soit réglé. A part me donner des listes de sites avec des liens innombrables pour procéder moi-même à la résolution de ce problème, je n'ai aucune solution.
    Je ne suis pas technicien et les solutions sont hermétiques.
    Je souhaiterais que quelqu'un de qualifié prenne la main sur mon ordinateur et fasse les réglages lui-même.

  19. Allow a “create new folder” option, as the desktop version has.

    I don’t see any option to create a folder for files with this version. I can only create new files. I need to be able to create folders to keep all of my images organized. Right now, they’re all over the place. The desktop version has the option to create folders, and I don’t understand why this version doesn’t.

  20. Editing direct select tool node deletion/undo

    I love being able to delete a node just by pausing with the Apple Pencil on top of the node. However, there is a conflict with trying to move and adjust the node. Often when I am carefully and slowly moving a node, it deletes it instead of moving it. Then when I hit undo the node comes back but it isn’t visible. My work around is to click on a different line to select the nodes there and then click on the line that I want to edit. Then I can see the node I want to move again.
